< 1 Kings 22 >
1 And they continued three yeere without warre betweene Aram and Israel.
Ne wataba ntalo wakati wa Busuuli ne Isirayiri okumala emyaka esatu.
2 And in the third yeere did Iehoshaphat the King of Iudah come downe to ye King of Israel.
Naye mu mwaka ogwokusatu Yekosafaati kabaka wa Yuda n’aserengeta okugenda okukyalira kabaka wa Isirayiri.
3 (Then the King of Israel saide vnto his seruants, Knowe yee not that Ramoth Gilead was ours? and wee stay, and take it not out of ye hand of the King of Aram?)
Kabaka wa Isirayiri yali agambye abaami be nti, “Mumanyi nti Lamosugireyaadi kyaffe, naye ate nga tetulina kye tukola wo okukiggya ku kabaka wa Busuuli?”
4 And he sayde vnto Iehoshaphat, Wilt thou goe with mee to battel against Ramoth Gilead? And Iehoshaphat saide vnto the King of Israel, I am as thou art, my people as thy people, and mine horses as thine horses.
Mu kiseera ekyo n’abuuza Yekosafaati nti, “Onoogenda nange mu lutalo e Lamosugireyaadi?” Yekosafaati n’addamu kabaka wa Isirayiri nti, “Nze ndi nga bw’oli abantu bange ng’abantu bo, n’embalaasi zange ng’ezizo.”
5 Then Iehoshaphat saide vnto the King of Israel, Aske counsaile, I pray thee, of the Lord to day.
Naye Yekosafaati n’ayongerako nti, “Sooka weebuuze ku Mukama.”
6 Then the King of Israel gathered the prophets vpon a foure hundreth men, and said vnto them, Shal I go against Ramoth Gilead to battel, or shall I let it alone? And they said, Go vp: for ye Lord shall deliuer it into the hands of the King.
Awo kabaka wa Isirayiri n’akuŋŋaanya bannabbi awamu nga bawera ng’ebikumi bina, n’ababuuza nti, “Ŋŋende ntabaale e Lamosugireyaadi oba ndekeyo?” Ne baddamu nti, “Genda kubanga Mukama alikigabula mu mukono gwa kabaka.”
7 And Iehoshaphat said, Is there here neuer a Prophet of the Lord more, that we might inquire of him?
Naye Yekosafaati n’abuuza nti, “Wano tewaliwo nnabbi wa Mukama gwe tuyinza kwebuuzaako?”
8 And the King of Israel said vnto Iehoshaphat, There is yet one man (Michaiah the sonne of Imlah) by whom we may aske counsel of the Lord, but I hate him: for he doeth not prophecie good vnto me, but euill. And Iehoshaphat sayd, Let not the King say so.
Kabaka wa Isirayiri n’addamu Yekosafaati nti, “Wakyaliyo omusajja omu gwe tuyinza okwebuuzaako eri Mukama erinnya lye ye Mikaaya mutabani wa Imula naye namukyawa kubanga tewali kirungi ky’alagula ku nze, wabula ebibi.”
9 Then the King of Israel called an Eunuche, and sayde, Call quickely Michaiah the sonne of Imlah.
Awo kabaka wa Isirayiri n’alagira omu ku baami be nti, “Yanguwa mangu okuleeta Mikaaya mutabani wa Imula.”
10 And the King of Israel and Iehoshaphat the King of Iudah sate either of them on his throne in their apparell in the voyde place at the entring in of the gate of Samaria, and all the prophets prophecied before them.
Awo Kabaka wa Isirayiri ne Yekosafaati kabaka wa Yuda nga bambadde ebyambalo byabwe eby’obwakabaka era nga batudde ku ntebe zaabwe ez’obwakabaka mu mulyango ogwa wankaaki w’ekibuga Samaliya, nga ne bannabbi bonna balagulira awo we baali;
11 And Zidkiiah the sonne of Chenaanah made him hornes of yron, and sayd, Thus sayth the Lord, With these shalt thou push the Aramites, vntill thou hast consumed them.
Zeddekiya mutabani wa Kenaana yali yeekoledde amayembe ag’ebyuma, n’ayogera nti, “Bw’ati bw’ayogera Mukama nti, ‘Olisindikiriza Abasuuli ne gano okutuusa lwe balisaanyizibwawo.’”
12 And all the prophets prophecied so, saying, Goe vp to Ramoth Gilead, and prosper: for the Lord shall deliuer it into the Kings hand.
Bannabbi abalala bonna nabo baalagula kye kimu, nga boogera nti, “Yambuka olumbe Lamosugireyaadi obe muwanguzi kubanga Mukama ajja kukigabula mu mukono gwa kabaka.”
13 And the messenger that was gone to call Michaiah spake vnto him, saying, Beholde now, the wordes of the prophets declare good vnto the King with one accorde: let thy word therefore, I pray thee, be like the worde of one of them, and speake thou good.
Omubaka eyatumibwa okuleeta Mikaaya n’amugamba nti, “Laba ebigambo bya bannabbi abalala biragula buwanguzi eri kabaka, kale ekigambo kyo nakyo kikkiriziganye nabyo, oyogere bulungi.”
14 And Michaiah saide, As the Lord liueth, whatsoeuer the Lord sayth vnto me, that will I speake.
Naye Mikaaya n’ayogera nti, “Nga Mukama bw’ali omulamu, nzija kwogera ekyo kyokka Mukama ky’anaŋŋamba.”
15 So he came to the King, and the King said vnto him, Michaiah, shall we go against Ramoth Gilead to battel, or shall we leaue off? And he answered him, Goe vp, and prosper: and the Lord shall deliuer it into the hand of the King.
Bwe yatuuka awali kabaka, kabaka n’amubuuza nti, “Mikaaya tulumbe Lamosugireyaadi, nantiki tulekeyo?” N’amuddamu nti, “Kirumbe obe muwanguzi kubanga Mukama anakigabula mu mukono gwa kabaka.”
16 And the King said vnto him, How oft shall I charge thee, that thou tell me nothing but that which is true in the Name of the Lord?
Kabaka n’amubuuza nti, “Nnaakulayiza emirundi emeka okutegeeza amazima mu linnya lya Mukama?”
17 Then he said, I sawe all Israel scattered vpon the mountaines, as sheepe that had no shepheard. And the Lord sayde, These haue no master, let euery man returne vnto his house in peace.
Nnabbi n’addamu nti, “Nalaba Isirayiri yenna ng’esaasaanye ku nsozi, ng’endiga ezitalina musumba.” Mukama n’ayogera nti, “Bano tebalina mukama waabwe, era buli omu ku bbo addeyo ewuwe mirembe.”
18 (And the King of Israel saide vnto Iehoshaphat, Did I not tell thee, that he would prophecie no good vnto me, but euill?)
Awo kabaka wa Isirayiri n’agamba Yekosafaati nti, “Saakugambye nti, talina kirungi ky’andagulako wabula ekibi?”
19 Againe he said, Heare thou therefore the worde of the Lord. I sawe the Lord sit on his throne, and all the hoste of heauen stood about him on his right hand and on his left hand.
Mikaaya n’ayogera nti, “Noolwekyo wulira ekigambo kya Mukama nti: Nalaba Mukama ng’atudde ku ntebe ye ey’obwakabaka nga n’eggye lyonna ery’omu ggulu liyimiridde ku mukono gwe ogwa ddyo ne mukono gwe ogwa kkono.
20 And the Lord sayd, Who shall entise Ahab that he may go and fall at Ramoth Gilead? And one said on this maner, and another sayd on that maner.
Mukama n’ayogera nti, ‘Ani anaasendasenda Akabu ayambuke okulumba Lamosugireyaadi afiire eyo?’ Omu ku bo n’addamu bulala, n’omulala n’addamu bulala.
21 Then there came forth a spirit, and stoode before the Lord, and sayd, I wil entise him. And the Lord sayd vnto him, Wherewith?
Ku nkomerero ne wavaayo omwoyo ne guyimirira mu maaso ga Mukama ne gwogera nti, ‘Nze nnaamusendasenda.’
22 And he sayd, I will goe out, and be a false spirit in the mouth of all his prophets. Then he sayd, Thou shalt entise him, and shalt also preuayle: goe forth, and doe so.
“Mukama n’abuuza nti, ‘Mu ngeri ki?’ Omwoyo ne guddamu nti, ‘Nzija kugenda nfuuke omwoyo ogw’obulimba mu mimwa gya bannabbi be bonna.’ Mukama n’addamu nti, ‘Ojja kusobola okumusendasenda, genda okole bw’otyo.’
23 Now therefore behold, the Lord hath put a lying spirite in the mouth of all these thy prophets, and the Lord hath appoynted euill against thee.
“Kale nno, Mukama atadde omwoyo omulimba mu mimwa gya buli nnabbi wo era Mukama amaliridde okukusaanyaawo.”
24 Then Zidkiiah the sonne of Chenaanah came neere, and smote Michaiah on the cheeke and sayd, When went the Spirite of the Lord from me, to speake vnto thee?
Awo Zeddekiya mutabani wa Kenaana n’asembera n’akuba Mikaaya oluyi ku ttama, n’ayogera nti, “Omwoyo wa Mukama yampiseeko atya okwogera nawe?”
25 And Michaiah saide, Behold, thou shalt see in that day, when thou shalt goe from chamber to chamber to hide thee.
Awo Mikaaya n’addamu nti, “Laba, ekyo onokimanya ku lunaku lw’oligenda okwekweka mu kisenge eky’omunda.”
26 And the King of Israel sayd, Take Michaiah, and cary him vnto Amon the gouernour of the citie, and vnto Ioash the Kings sonne,
Awo kabaka wa Isirayiri n’alagira nti, “Mukwate Mikaaya, mumuzzeeyo ewa Amoni omukulu w’ekibuga, n’eri Yowaasi mutabani wa kabaka,
27 And say, Thus saith the King, Put this man in the prison house, and feede him with bread of affliction, and with water of affliction, vntill I returne in peace.
era mwogere nti, ‘Bw’ati bw’ayogera kabaka nti: muteeke omuntu ono mu kkomera, ate temumuwa ekintu kyonna okuggyako omugaati n’amazzi okutuusa lwe ndikomawo emirembe.’”
28 And Michaiah sayde, If thou returne in peace, the Lord hath not spoken by me. And he sayd, Hearken all ye people.
Mikaaya n’alangirira nti, “Bw’olikomawo emirembe, Mukama nga tayogeredde mu nze.” Era n’ayongerako nti, “Mugenderere ebigambo byange, mmwe abantu mwenna.”
29 So the King of Israel and Iehoshaphat the King of Iudah went vp to Ramoth Gilead.
Awo kabaka wa Isirayiri ne Yekosafaati kabaka wa Yuda ne bambuka e Lamosugireyaadi.
30 And the King of Israel sayde to Iehoshaphat, I will change mine apparell, and will enter into the battell, but put thou on thine apparell. And the King of Israel changed himselfe, and went into the battel.
Kabaka wa Isirayiri n’agamba Yekosafaati nti, “Nzija kugenda mu lutalo nga nneefudde omuntu omulala, naye ggwe oyambale ebyambalo eby’obwakabaka.” Awo kabaka wa Isirayiri ne yeefuula omuntu omulala n’agenda mu lutalo.
31 And the King of Aram commanded his two and thirtie captaines ouer his charets, saying, Fight neither with small, nor great, saue onely against the King of Israel.
Kabaka w’e Busuuli yali alagidde abaduumizi b’amagaali nti, “Temulwanagana na muntu yenna, kabe mutono oba mukulu, wabula kabaka wa Isirayiri yekka.”
32 And when the captaines of the charets saw Iehoshaphat, they sayd, Surely it is the King of Israel, and they turned to fight against him: and Iehoshaphat cryed.
Awo abaduumizi b’amagaali bwe baalaba Yekosafaati, ne balowooza nti, “Ddala ono ye kabaka wa Isirayiri.” Ne batanula okumulumba, naye Yekosafaati n’aleekaanira waggulu,
33 And when the captaines of the charets saw that he was not the King of Israel, they turned backe from him.
abaduumizi b’amagaali ne bategeera nti si ye kabaka wa Isirayiri ne balekeraawo okumugoba.
34 Then a certaine man drewe a bow mightily and smote the King of Israel betweene the ioyntes of his brigandine. Wherefore he sayde vnto his charet man, Turne thine hand and cary me out of the hoste: for I am hurt.
Awo omuntu omu n’amala galasa akasaale ke, ne kakwata kabaka wa Isirayiri ebyambalo bye eby’ebyuma we bigattira, n’agamba omugoba w’eggaali lye nti, “Kyusa eggaali onzigye mu lutalo, kubanga nfumitiddwa.”
35 And the battel encreased that day, and the King stoode still in his charet against the Aramites, and dyed at euen: and the blood ran out of the wound into the middes of the charet.
Olutalo ne lweyongerera ddala nnyo ku lunaku olwo, era kabaka ne bamukwatirira mu gaali lye nga litunuulaganye n’Abasuuli. Omusaayi okuva mu kiwundu kye ne gukulukuta nnyo mu gaali, n’oluvannyuma n’afa.
36 And there went a proclamation thorowout the hoste about the going downe of the sunne, saying, Euery man to his citie, and euery man to his owne countrey.
Enjuba bwe yali ng’eneetera okugwa, ne waba ekirango ekyabuna mu ggye nti, “Buli muntu adde mu kibuga ky’ewaabwe, era buli muntu adde mu nsi y’ewaabwe!”
37 So the King died, and was brought to Samaria, and they buried the King in Samaria.
Awo kabaka n’afa n’aleetebwa e Samaliya, era n’aziikibwa eyo.
38 And one washed the charet in the poole of Samaria, and the dogs licked vp his blood (and they washed his armour) according vnto the word of the Lord which he spake.
Ne booleza eggaali lye awaali ekidiba kya Samaliya, bamalaaya we baanaabiranga, embwa ne zikomba omusaayi gwe, ng’ekigambo kya Mukama bwe kyayogerwa.
39 Concerning the rest of the actes of Ahab and all that he did, and the yuorie house which he built, and all the cities that he built, are they not written in the booke of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel?
Ebyafaayo ebirala eby’omulembe gwa Akabu, n’ebyo bye yakola, n’olubiri lwe yazimba n’alulongoosa n’amasanga, n’ebibuga bye yazimbako bbugwe, tebyawandiikibwa mu kitabo eky’ebyomumirembe gya bassekabaka ba Isirayiri?
40 So Ahab slept with his fathers, and Ahaziah his sonne reigned in his stead.
Awo Akabu ne yeebakira wamu ne bajjajjaabe, Akaziya mutabani we n’amusikira.
41 And Iehoshaphat the sonne of Asa began to reigne vpon Iudah in the fourth yeere of Ahab King of Israel.

43 And he walked in all the wayes of Asa his father, and declined not therefrom, but did that which was right in the eyes of the Lord. Neuerthelesse the hie places were not taken away: for the people offred still and burnt incense in the hie places.
N’atambulira mu ngeri za kitaawe Asa era n’atazivaamu, ng’akola ebirungi mu maaso ga Mukama, newaakubadde nga teyaggyawo bifo bigulumivu, abantu ne beeyongeranga okuweerayo ssaddaaka n’okwokya obubaane.

46 And the Sodomites, which remayned in the dayes of his father Asa, he put cleane out of the land.
N’aggyirawo ddala abaalyanga ebisiyaga abaali basigaddewo mu nsi, oluvannyuma lw’omulembe gwa kitaawe Asa.
47 There was then no King in Edom: the deputie was King.
Awo mu biro ebyo ne wataba kabaka mu Edomu, omusigire wa kabaka n’afuga.
48 Iehoshaphat made shippes of Tharshish to sayle to Ophir for golde, but they went not, for the shippes were broken at Ezion Gaber.
Yekosafaati yali azimbye ekibinja eky’ebyombo okugenda e Ofiri okukimangayo zaabu, naye ne bitasobola, kubanga byonna byabbira e Eziyonigeba.
49 Then sayde Ahaziah the sonne of Ahab vnto Iehoshaphat, Let my seruants goe with thy seruants in the ships, But Iehoshaphat would not.
Mu kiseera ekyo Akaziya mutabani wa Akabu yali agambye Yekosafaati nti, “Abasajja bange ka baseeyeeye n’ababo,” naye Yekosafaati n’atakyagala.
50 And Iehoshaphat did sleepe with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the citie of Dauid his father, and Iehoram his sonne reigned in his stead.
Awo Yekosafaati ne yeebakira wamu ne bajjajjaabe era n’aziikibwa mu kibuga kya Dawudi jjajjaawe, Yekolaamu mutabani we n’amusikira.

52 But he did euill in the sight of the Lord, and walked in the way of his father, and in the way of his mother, and in the way of Ieroboam the sonne of Nebat, which made Israel to sinne.
N’akola ebibi mu maaso ga Mukama, ne yeeyisa nga kitaawe bwe yeeyisanga, era nga ne nnyina bwe yakolanga, ate era nga Yerobowaamu mutabani wa Nebati, eyaleetera Isirayiri okwonoona bwe yakolanga.
53 For he serued Baal and worshipped him, and prouoked the Lord God of Israel vnto wrath, according vnto all that his father had done.
Yaweereza era n’asinza Baali, n’asunguwaza Mukama Katonda wa Isirayiri, mu ngeri zonna nga kitaawe bwe yakola.
