1 Kings 22
1 And they continued three yeere without warre betweene Aram and Israel.
És három esztendő lefolyt úgy, hogy nem volt hadakozás a Siriabeliek és az Izráel között.
2 And in the third yeere did Iehoshaphat the King of Iudah come downe to ye King of Israel.
De a harmadik esztendőben aláméne Josafát, Júda királya az Izráel királyához,
3 (Then the King of Israel saide vnto his seruants, Knowe yee not that Ramoth Gilead was ours? and wee stay, and take it not out of ye hand of the King of Aram?)
Akkor monda az Izráel királya az ő szolgáinak: Nem tudjátok-é, hogy Rámoth Gileád a miénk? És mi hallgatunk és nem veszszük vissza azt Siria királyától?
4 And he sayde vnto Iehoshaphat, Wilt thou goe with mee to battel against Ramoth Gilead? And Iehoshaphat saide vnto the King of Israel, I am as thou art, my people as thy people, and mine horses as thine horses.
És monda Josafátnak: Feljössz-é velem e hadba Rámoth Gileád ellen? Felele Josafát az Izráel királyának: Úgy én, mint te, úgy az én népem, mint a te néped; úgy az én lovaim, mint a te lovaid.
5 Then Iehoshaphat saide vnto the King of Israel, Aske counsaile, I pray thee, of the Lord to day.
És monda Josafát az Izráel királyának: Kérdezősködjél még ma az Úr beszéde után.
6 Then the King of Israel gathered the prophets vpon a foure hundreth men, and said vnto them, Shal I go against Ramoth Gilead to battel, or shall I let it alone? And they said, Go vp: for ye Lord shall deliuer it into the hands of the King.
És összegyűjté az Izráel királya a prófétákat, közel négyszáz férfiút, és monda nékik: Elmenjek-é Rámoth Gileád ellen hadba, vagy elhagyjam? És mondának: Menj fel; mert az Úr kezébe adja azt a királynak.
7 And Iehoshaphat said, Is there here neuer a Prophet of the Lord more, that we might inquire of him?
És monda Josafát: Nincs itt már több prófétája az Úrnak, hogy attól is tudakozódhatnánk?
8 And the King of Israel said vnto Iehoshaphat, There is yet one man (Michaiah the sonne of Imlah) by whom we may aske counsel of the Lord, but I hate him: for he doeth not prophecie good vnto me, but euill. And Iehoshaphat sayd, Let not the King say so.
És monda az Izráel királya Josafátnak: Még van egy férfiú, a ki által megkérdhetjük az Urat, Mikeás, a Jemla fia; de én gyűlölöm őt, mert soha nem jövendöl nékem jót, hanem mindig csak rosszat. És monda Josafát: Ne beszéljen így a király!
9 Then the King of Israel called an Eunuche, and sayde, Call quickely Michaiah the sonne of Imlah.
És előszólíta az Izráel királya egy udvariszolgát, és monda: Hívd ide hamar Mikeást, a Jemla fiát.
10 And the King of Israel and Iehoshaphat the King of Iudah sate either of them on his throne in their apparell in the voyde place at the entring in of the gate of Samaria, and all the prophets prophecied before them.
És ott ült az Izráel királya és Josafát, Júda királya, ruhákba öltözötten, mindenik a maga trónusán Samaria kapuja előtt a térségen, és a próféták mind ott jövendöltek előttük.
11 And Zidkiiah the sonne of Chenaanah made him hornes of yron, and sayd, Thus sayth the Lord, With these shalt thou push the Aramites, vntill thou hast consumed them.
És Sédékiás, a Kénaána fia, vasszarvakat készített, és monda: Ezt mondja az Úr: Ezekkel ökleled a Siriabelieket, míg meg nem emészted őket.
12 And all the prophets prophecied so, saying, Goe vp to Ramoth Gilead, and prosper: for the Lord shall deliuer it into the Kings hand.
És a próféták is mindnyájan ekképen jövendöltek, mondván: Menj fel Rámoth Gileád ellen, és jó szerencséd lesz; mert azt az Úr a király kezébe adja.
13 And the messenger that was gone to call Michaiah spake vnto him, saying, Beholde now, the wordes of the prophets declare good vnto the King with one accorde: let thy word therefore, I pray thee, be like the worde of one of them, and speake thou good.
A követ pedig, a ki elment volt, hogy elhívja Mikeást, szóla néki, mondván: Ímé a próféták egyenlő akarattal jót jövendölnek a királynak: szólj, kérlek, te is úgy, mint azok közül egy, és jövendölj jót.
14 And Michaiah saide, As the Lord liueth, whatsoeuer the Lord sayth vnto me, that will I speake.
Mikeás pedig monda: Él az Úr, hogy csak azt fogom mondani, a mit az Úr mondánd nékem.
15 So he came to the King, and the King said vnto him, Michaiah, shall we go against Ramoth Gilead to battel, or shall we leaue off? And he answered him, Goe vp, and prosper: and the Lord shall deliuer it into the hand of the King.
És mikor a királyhoz ment, monda néki a király: Mikeás! elmenjünk-é Rámoth Gileád ellen hadba, vagy elhagyjuk? Ő pedig monda néki: Menj fel és járj szerencsével; az Úr kezébe adja azt a királynak.
16 And the King said vnto him, How oft shall I charge thee, that thou tell me nothing but that which is true in the Name of the Lord?
És monda néki a király: Még hányszor kényszerítselek téged, hogy az igaznál egyebet ne mondj nékem az Úr nevében?
17 Then he said, I sawe all Israel scattered vpon the mountaines, as sheepe that had no shepheard. And the Lord sayde, These haue no master, let euery man returne vnto his house in peace.
És monda: Látám az egész Izráelt szétszéledve a hegyeken, mint a juhokat, a melyeknek nincsen pásztoruk. És monda az Úr: Nincsen ezeknek urok? Térjen vissza kiki az ő házához békességben.
18 (And the King of Israel saide vnto Iehoshaphat, Did I not tell thee, that he would prophecie no good vnto me, but euill?)
És monda az Izráel királya Josafátnak: Nemde nem megmondottam-é néked, hogy soha jót nékem nem jövendöl, hanem csak rosszat.
19 Againe he said, Heare thou therefore the worde of the Lord. I sawe the Lord sit on his throne, and all the hoste of heauen stood about him on his right hand and on his left hand.
És monda Mikeás: Azért halld meg most az Úr beszédét: Látám az Urat az ő székiben ülni, és az egész mennyei sereget az ő jobb- és balkeze felől mellette állani.
20 And the Lord sayd, Who shall entise Ahab that he may go and fall at Ramoth Gilead? And one said on this maner, and another sayd on that maner.
És monda az Úr: Kicsoda csalja meg Akhábot, hogy felmenjen, és elvesszen Rámoth Gileádnál? És ki egyet, ki mást szól vala hozzá.
21 Then there came forth a spirit, and stoode before the Lord, and sayd, I wil entise him. And the Lord sayd vnto him, Wherewith?
Akkor előjőve egy lélek, a ki az Úr eleibe álla, és monda: Én akarom megcsalni őt. Az Úr pedig monda néki: Miképen?
22 And he sayd, I will goe out, and be a false spirit in the mouth of all his prophets. Then he sayd, Thou shalt entise him, and shalt also preuayle: goe forth, and doe so.
És felele: Kimegyek és hazug lélek leszek minden ő prófétáinak szájában. Akkor monda az Úr: Csald meg és győzd meg; menj ki, és cselekedjél úgy.
23 Now therefore behold, the Lord hath put a lying spirite in the mouth of all these thy prophets, and the Lord hath appoynted euill against thee.
Ímé az Úr a hazugságnak lelkét adta mindezeknek a te prófétáidnak szájába; és az Úr szólott veszedelmes dolgot ellened.
24 Then Zidkiiah the sonne of Chenaanah came neere, and smote Michaiah on the cheeke and sayd, When went the Spirite of the Lord from me, to speake vnto thee?
Akkor odalépett Sédékiás, a Kénaána fia, és arczul csapván Mikeást, monda: Hogyan? Eltávozott volna én tőlem az Úrnak lelke, hogy csak néked szólana?
25 And Michaiah saide, Behold, thou shalt see in that day, when thou shalt goe from chamber to chamber to hide thee.
És monda Mikeás: Ímé meglátod azon a napon, a mikor az egyik kamarából a másik kamarába mégy be, hogy elrejtőzhess.
26 And the King of Israel sayd, Take Michaiah, and cary him vnto Amon the gouernour of the citie, and vnto Ioash the Kings sonne,
Az Izráel királya pedig monda: Fogjad Mikeást, és vidd vissza őt Ammonhoz, a város fejedelméhez, és Joáshoz, a király fiához;
27 And say, Thus saith the King, Put this man in the prison house, and feede him with bread of affliction, and with water of affliction, vntill I returne in peace.
És mondjad: Ezt mondja a király: Vessétek ezt a tömlöczbe, és tápláljátok őt a nyomorúság kenyerével és a nyomorúság vizével, míg békességgel megjövök.
28 And Michaiah sayde, If thou returne in peace, the Lord hath not spoken by me. And he sayd, Hearken all ye people.
Monda pedig Mikeás: Ha békességgel térsz vissza, nem az Úr szólott én általam. Azután monda: Halljátok ezt meg minden népek!
29 So the King of Israel and Iehoshaphat the King of Iudah went vp to Ramoth Gilead.
És felvonult az Izráel királya, és Josafát, a Júda királya Rámoth Gileád ellen.
30 And the King of Israel sayde to Iehoshaphat, I will change mine apparell, and will enter into the battell, but put thou on thine apparell. And the King of Israel changed himselfe, and went into the battel.
És monda az Izráel királya Josafátnak: Megváltoztatom ruhámat, és úgy megyek a viadalra, te pedig öltözzél fel ruhádba. És elváltoztatá ruháját az Izráel királya, és úgy méne a viadalra.
31 And the King of Aram commanded his two and thirtie captaines ouer his charets, saying, Fight neither with small, nor great, saue onely against the King of Israel.
Siria királya pedig megparancsolá az ő szekerei harminczkét fejedelmeinek, mondván: Ne vívjatok se kicsinynyel, se nagygyal, hanem egyedül csak az Izráel királya ellen vívjatok.
32 And when the captaines of the charets saw Iehoshaphat, they sayd, Surely it is the King of Israel, and they turned to fight against him: and Iehoshaphat cryed.
És a mikor meglátták a szekerek fejedelmei Josafátot, mondának: Nyilván ez az Izráel királya; és reá rohanván vívának ellene. De Josafát elkezdett kiáltani.
33 And when the captaines of the charets saw that he was not the King of Israel, they turned backe from him.
Mikor pedig látták a szekerek fejedelmei, hogy nem az Izráel királya, ott hagyták.
34 Then a certaine man drewe a bow mightily and smote the King of Israel betweene the ioyntes of his brigandine. Wherefore he sayde vnto his charet man, Turne thine hand and cary me out of the hoste: for I am hurt.
Egy ember pedig csak úgy találomra kilövé az ő kézívét, és találá az Izráel királyát a pánczél és a kapocs között. És ő monda a kocsisának: Fordulj meg és vigy ki engem a táborból, mert megsebesültem!
35 And the battel encreased that day, and the King stoode still in his charet against the Aramites, and dyed at euen: and the blood ran out of the wound into the middes of the charet.
És az ütközet mind erősebb lett azon a napon, és a király az ő szekerében állott a Siriabeliek ellen, és meghalt este felé, és a vér a sebből a szekérbe csorgott.
36 And there went a proclamation thorowout the hoste about the going downe of the sunne, saying, Euery man to his citie, and euery man to his owne countrey.
És kikiálták napnyugotkor a táborban, mondván: Minden ember menjen haza a maga városába és földjébe!
37 So the King died, and was brought to Samaria, and they buried the King in Samaria.
És meghalt a király és visszavitetvén Samariába, eltemeték a királyt Samariában.
38 And one washed the charet in the poole of Samaria, and the dogs licked vp his blood (and they washed his armour) according vnto the word of the Lord which he spake.
És mikor mosták az ő szekerét a Samaria mellett lévő tóban: az ebek nyalták az ő vérét, és paráznák fürödtek ott, az Úrnak beszéde szerint, a melyet szólott volt.
39 Concerning the rest of the actes of Ahab and all that he did, and the yuorie house which he built, and all the cities that he built, are they not written in the booke of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel?
Akhábnak egyéb dolgai pedig és minden cselekedetei, az elefántcsontból építtetett ház, és mind a városok, a melyeket épített, vajjon nincsenek-é megírva az Izráel királyainak krónika-könyvében?
40 So Ahab slept with his fathers, and Ahaziah his sonne reigned in his stead.
És elaluvék Akháb az ő atyáival; és uralkodék ő utána fia, Akházia.
41 And Iehoshaphat the sonne of Asa began to reigne vpon Iudah in the fourth yeere of Ahab King of Israel.
És Josafát, az Asa fia lett királylyá Júdában, Akhábnak, az Izráel királyának negyedik esztendejében.
42 Iehoshaphat was fiue and thirty yere olde, when he began to reigne, and reigned fiue and twentie yeere in Ierusalem. And his mothers name was Azubah the daughter of Shilhi.
És Josafát harminczöt esztendős volt, mikor uralkodni kezdett, és huszonöt esztendeig uralkodott Jeruzsálemben. Az ő anyjának Azuba volt a neve, Silhi leánya.
43 And he walked in all the wayes of Asa his father, and declined not therefrom, but did that which was right in the eyes of the Lord. Neuerthelesse the hie places were not taken away: for the people offred still and burnt incense in the hie places.
És jára Asának, az ő atyjának minden útjában, és abból ki nem tére, azt cselekedvén, a mi az Úr szemei előtt kedves. Csakhogy a magaslatokat nem rombolták le, és a nép még áldozott és tömjénezett a magaslatokon.
44 And Iehoshaphat made peace with the King of Israel.
És békességben élt Josafát az Izráel királyával.
45 Concerning the rest of the actes of Iehoshaphat, and his worthy deedes that he did, and his battels which he fought, are they not written in the booke of the Chronicles of the Kings of Iudah?
Josafátnak egyéb dolgai pedig és az ő ereje, a melylyel cselekedett, és a melylyel hadakozott, vajjon nincsenek-é megírva a Júda királyainak krónika-könyvében?
46 And the Sodomites, which remayned in the dayes of his father Asa, he put cleane out of the land.
A férfi paráznákat is, a kik még megmaradtak volt az ő atyjának, Asának idejéből, kiűzte az országból.
47 There was then no King in Edom: the deputie was King.
Akkor nem volt király Edomban, hanem csak helyettes király.
48 Iehoshaphat made shippes of Tharshish to sayle to Ophir for golde, but they went not, for the shippes were broken at Ezion Gaber.
És Josafát Társis hajókat csináltatott, hogy aranyért mennének Ofirba, de nem mehettek el; mert a hajók összetörtek Esiongáberben.
49 Then sayde Ahaziah the sonne of Ahab vnto Iehoshaphat, Let my seruants goe with thy seruants in the ships, But Iehoshaphat would not.
Akkor mondá Akházia, az Akháb fia, Josafátnak: Hadd menjenek el az én szolgáim a te szolgáiddal e hajókon; de Josafát nem akará.
50 And Iehoshaphat did sleepe with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the citie of Dauid his father, and Iehoram his sonne reigned in his stead.
És elaluvék Josafát az ő atyáival; és eltemetteték az ő atyáival az ő atyjának, Dávidnak városában; és az ő fia, Jórám, uralkodék helyette.
51 Ahaziah the sonne of Ahab began to reigne ouer Israel in Samaria, the seuenteenth yeere of Iehoshaphat King of Iudah, and reigned two yeeres ouer Israel.
Akházia pedig, az Akháb fia kezde uralkodni Izráelen Samariában, Josafátnak, a Júda királyának tizenhetedik esztendejében, és uralkodék Izráelben két esztendeig.
52 But he did euill in the sight of the Lord, and walked in the way of his father, and in the way of his mother, and in the way of Ieroboam the sonne of Nebat, which made Israel to sinne.
És gonoszul cselekedék az Úrnak szemei előtt, járván az ő atyjának és anyjának útján, és Jeroboámnak, a Nébát fiának útján, a ki bűnbe ejté az Izráelt;
53 For he serued Baal and worshipped him, and prouoked the Lord God of Israel vnto wrath, according vnto all that his father had done.
És szolgála a Baálnak, és azt imádá és haragra indítá az Urat, Izráel Istenét, mint a hogy az ő atyja cselekedett.
