1 Kings 2

1 Then the dayes of Dauid drewe neere that he should die, and hee charged Salomon his sonne, saying,

Şi s-au apropiat zilele lui David să moară; şi el i-a poruncit lui Solomon, fiul său, spunând:

2 I go the way of all the earth: be strong therefore, and shew thy selfe a man,

Eu merg pe calea întregului pământ; tu fii tare de aceea şi arată-te bărbat;

3 And take heede to the charge of the Lord thy God, to walke in his wayes, and keepe his statutes, and his commandements, and his iudgements, and his testimonies, as it is written in the Law of Moses, that thou mayest prosper in all that thou doest, and in euery thing whereunto thou turnest thee,

Şi păzeşte porunca DOMNULUI Dumnezeul tău, de a umbla în căile lui, de a ţine statutele lui şi poruncile lui şi judecăţile lui şi mărturiile lui, precum este scris în legea lui Moise, ca să prosperi în tot ceea ce faci şi oriunde te întorci;

4 That the Lord may confirme his worde which hee spake vnto me, saying, If thy sonnes take heede to their way, that they walke before me in trueth, with all their hearts, and with all their soules, thou shalt not (sayd he) want one of thy posteritie vpon the throne of Israel.

Ca DOMNUL să continue cuvântul său pe care l-a vorbit referitor la mine, spunând: Dacă ai tăi copii vor lua seama la calea lor, pentru a umbla înaintea mea în adevăr cu toată inima lor şi cu tot sufletul lor, nu vei fi lipsit (a spus el) de un bărbat pe tronul lui Israel.

5 Thou knowest also what Ioab the sonne of Zeruiah did to me, and what he did to the two captaines of the hostes of Israel, vnto Abner the sonne of Ner, and vnto Amasa the sonne of Iether: whome he slewe, and shed blood of battell in peace, and put the blood of warre vpon his girdle that was about his loynes, and in his shooes that were on his feete.

Mai mult, tu ştii de asemenea ce mi-a făcut Ioab, fiul Ţeruiei, şi ce a făcut celor două căpetenii ale oştirilor lui Israel: lui Abner, fiul lui Ner, şi lui Amasa, fiul lui Ieter, pe care i-a ucis şi a vărsat sângele de război pe timp de pace, şi a pus sângele de război pe brâul lui, care era pe coapsele lui şi pe sandalele lui care erau în picioarele lui.

6 Doe therefore according to thy wisdome, and let thou not his hoare head go downe to the graue in peace. (Sheol h7585)

Fă de aceea conform înţelepciunii tale şi nu lăsa capul său alb să coboare în pace în mormânt. (Sheol h7585)

7 But shew kindnes vnto the sonnes of Barzillai the Gileadite, and let them be among them that eate at thy table: for so they came to me when I fled from Absalom thy brother.

Dar arată bunătate faţă de fiii lui Barzilai galaaditul şi ei să fie dintre cei care mănâncă la masa ta, pentru că astfel ei au venit la mine când am fugit din faţa fratelui tău, Absalom.

8 And beholde, with thee is Shimei the sonne of Gera, the sonne of Iemini, of Bahurim, which cursed mee with an horrible curse in the day when I went to Mahanaim: but hee came downe to meete me at Iorden, and I sware to him by the Lord, saying, I will not slay thee with the sword.

Şi, iată, tu ai cu tine pe Şimei, fiul lui Ghera, un beniamit din Bahurim, care m-a blestemat cu un blestem apăsător în ziua când am mers la Mahanaim; dar el a coborât să mă întâlnească la Iordan şi i-am jurat pe DOMNUL, spunând: Nu te voi da la moarte prin sabie.

9 But thou shalt not count him innocent: for thou art a wise man, and knowest what thou oughtest to doe vnto him: therefore thou shalt cause his hoare head to goe downe to the graue with blood. (Sheol h7585)

De aceea acum, nu îl lăsa fără vină, pentru că tu eşti un om înţelept şi ştii ce trebuie să îi faci; dar capul său alb să îl cobori în mormânt cu sânge. (Sheol h7585)

10 So Dauid slept with his fathers, and was buried in the citie of Dauid.

Astfel, David a adormit cu părinţii săi şi a fost îngropat în cetatea lui David.

11 And the dayes which Dauid reigned vpon Israel, were fourtie yeeres: seuen yeeres reigned he in Hebron, and thirtie and three yeeres reigned he in Ierusalem.

Şi zilele cât David a domnit peste Israel au fost patruzeci de ani: şapte ani a domnit în Hebron şi treizeci şi trei de ani a domnit în Ierusalim.

12 Then sate Salomon vpon the throne of Dauid his father, and his kingdome was stablished mightily.

Atunci Solomon a şezut pe tronul lui David, tatăl său; şi împărăţia a fost întemeiată, foarte mult.

13 And Adonijah the sonne of Haggith came to Bath-sheba the mother of Salomon: and she saide, Commest thou peaceably? And hee said, Yea.

Şi Adonia, fiul lui Haghita, a venit la Bat-Şeba, mama lui Solomon. Şi ea a spus: Vii cu pace? Şi el a spus: Cu pace.

14 He said moreouer, I haue a sute vnto thee. And she sayd, Say on.

Iar el a mai spus: Am ceva să îţi spun. Iar ea a zis: Spune.

15 Then he said, Thou knowest that the kingdome was mine, and that all Israel set their faces on me, that I should reigne: howbeit the kingdome is turned away, and is my brothers: for it came to him by the Lord.

Iar el a zis: Tu ştii că împărăţia era a mea şi că tot Israelul şi-a îndreptat faţa către mine, ca să domnesc; totuşi, împărăţia s-a întors şi a devenit a fratelui meu, pentru că era a lui de la DOMNUL.

16 Nowe therefore I aske thee one request, refuse me not. And she said vnto him, Say on.

Şi acum am o singură rugăminte la tine, nu mă refuza. Iar ea i-a zis: Spune.

17 And he sayd, Speake, I pray thee, vnto Salomon ye King, (for he will not say thee nay) that he giue me Abishag the Shunammite to wife.

Iar el a zis: Vorbeşte, te rog, împăratului Solomon, (pentru că el nu îţi va spune nu) ca să îmi dea pe sunamita Abişag de soţie.

18 And Bath-sheba sayd, Well, I will speake for thee vnto the King.

Şi Bat-Şeba a spus: Bine, voi vorbi împăratului pentru tine.

19 Bath-sheba therefore went vnto King Salomon, to speake vnto him for Adonijah: and the King rose to meete her, and bowed himselfe vnto her, and sate downe on his throne: and he caused a seate to be set for the Kings mother, and she sate at his right hand.

Bat-Şeba de aceea a intrat la împăratul Solomon pentru a-i vorbi pentru Adonia. Şi împăratul s-a ridicat să o întâlnească şi s-a aplecat înaintea ei şi a şezut pe tronul său; şi a făcut să fie pus un tron pentru mama împăratului; şi ea a şezut la dreapta lui.

20 Then she sayd, I desire a small request of thee, say me not nay. Then the King sayde vnto her, Aske on, my mother: for I will not say thee nay.

Atunci ea a spus: Am o mică rugăminte la tine; te rog, nu îmi spune nu. Şi împăratul i-a zis: Cere, mama mea, pentru că nu îţi voi spune nu.

21 She sayd then, Let Abishag the Shunammite be giuen to Adonijah thy brother to wife.

Şi ea a zis: Sunamita Abişag să îi fie dată lui Adonia, fratele tău, de soţie.

22 But King Salomon answered and sayd vnto his mother, And why doest thou aske Abishag the Shunammite for Adonijah? aske for him the kingdome also: for he is mine elder brother, and hath for him both Abiathar the Priest, and Ioab the sonne of Zeruiah.

Şi împăratul Solomon a răspuns şi i-a zis mamei sale: Şi pentru ce ceri pe sunamita Abişag pentru Adonia? Cere pentru el şi împărăţia, pentru că el este fratele meu mai mare; chiar pentru el şi pentru preotul Abiatar şi pentru Ioab, fiul Ţeruiei.

23 Then King Salomon sware by the Lord, saying, God doe so to me and more also, if Adoniiah hath not spoken this worde against his owne life.

Atunci împăratul Solomon a jurat pe DOMNUL, spunând: Dumnezeu să îmi facă astfel şi încă mai mult, dacă Adonia nu a vorbit acest cuvânt împotriva vieţii lui.

24 Now therefore as ye Lord liueth, who hath established me, and set me on the throne of Dauid my father, who also hath made me an house, as he promised, Adoniiah shall surely die this day.

De aceea acum, precum DOMNUL trăieşte, care m-a întemeiat şi m-a pus pe tronul lui David, tatăl meu, şi care mi-a făcut o casă, precum a promis, că Adonia va fi dat la moarte în această zi.

25 And King Salomon sent by the hand of Benaiah the sonne of Iehoiada, and hee smote him that he dyed.

Şi împăratul Solomon a trimis prin mâna lui Benaia, fiul lui Iehoiada; şi el a căzut asupra lui încât acela a murit.

26 Then the King sayd vnto Abiathar the Priest, Go to Anathoth vnto thine owne fieldes: for thou art worthy of death: but I will not this day kill thee, because thou barest the Arke of the Lord God before Dauid my father, and because thou hast suffered in all, wherein my father hath bene afflicted.

Şi împăratul i-a spus preotului Abiatar: Du-te la Anatot, la câmpurile tale, pentru că tu eşti demn de moarte; dar în acest timp nu te voi da la moarte, pentru că ai purtat chivotul DOMNULUI DUMNEZEU înaintea lui David, tatăl meu, şi deoarece ai fost chinuit în tot ce s-a chinuit tatăl meu.

27 So Salomon cast out Abiathar from being Priest vnto the Lord, that he might fulfill the wordes of the Lord, which he spake against the house of Eli in Shiloh.

Astfel Solomon l-a alungat pe Abiatar din a fi un preot DOMNULUI, ca să împlinească cuvântul DOMNULUI, pe care l-a spus referitor la casa lui Eli în Şilo.

28 Then tidings came to Ioab: (for Ioab had turned after Adoniiah, but he turned not after Absalom) and Ioab fled vnto the Tabernacle of the Lord, and caught hold on the hornes of the altar.

Atunci veştile au venit la Ioab, pentru că Ioab se întorsese după Adonia, deşi nu se întorsese după Absalom. Şi Ioab a fugit la tabernacolul DOMNULUI şi a apucat coarnele altarului.

29 And it was tolde king Salomon, that Ioab was fled vnto the Tabernacle of the Lord, and beholde, he is by the altar. Then Salomon sent Benaiah the sonne of Iehoiada, saying, Goe, fall vpon him.

Şi i s-a spus împăratului Solomon că Ioab a fugit la tabernacolul DOMNULUI; şi, iată, el este lângă altar. Atunci Solomon a trimis pe Benaia, fiul lui Iehoiada, spunând: Du-te, cazi asupra lui.

30 And Benaiah came to the Tabernacle of the Lord, and sayd vnto him, Thus sayth the King, Come out. And he sayde, Nay, but I will die here. Then Benaiah brought the King worde againe, saying, Thus sayd Ioab, and thus he answered me.

Şi Benaia a venit la tabernacolul DOMNULUI şi i-a zis: Astfel spune împăratul: Ieşi afară. Iar el a spus: Nu, ci voi muri aici. Şi Benaia a adus din nou cuvânt împăratului, spunând: Astfel a zis Ioab şi astfel mi-a răspuns.

31 And the King sayde vnto him, Doe as he hath sayd, and smite him, and bury him, that thou mayest take away the blood, which Ioab shed causelesse, from me and from the house of my father.

Şi împăratul i-a zis: Fă precum a spus şi cazi asupra lui şi îngroapă-l; ca să îndepărtezi de la mine şi de la casa tatălui meu, sângele nevinovat, pe care l-a vărsat Ioab.

32 And the Lord shall bring his blood vpon his owne head: for he smote two men more righteous and better then he, and slew them with the sword, and my father Dauid knew not: to wit, Abner the sonne of Ner, captaine of the hoste of Israel, and Amasa the sonne of Iether captaine of the hoste of Iudah.

Şi DOMNUL să întoarcă sângele lui asupra capului său, care a căzut asupra a doi bărbaţi mai drepţi şi mai buni decât el şi i-a ucis cu sabia, tatăl meu, David, neştiind de aceasta, adică pe Abner, fiul lui Ner, căpetenia oştirii lui Israel şi pe Amasa, fiul lui Ieter, căpetenia oştirii lui Iuda.

33 Their blood shall therefore returne vpon the head of Ioab, and on the head of his seede for euer: but vpon Dauid, and vpon his seede, and vpon his house, and vpon his throne shall there be peace for euer from the Lord.

Sângele lor să se întoarcă asupra capului lui Ioab şi asupra capului seminţei lui pentru totdeauna; dar asupra lui David şi asupra seminţei lui şi asupra casei lui şi asupra tronului său, să fie pace de la DOMNUL pentru totdeauna.

34 So Benaiah the sonne of Iehoiada went vp, and smote him, and slewe him, and he was buryed in his owne house in the wildernesse.

Astfel Benaia, fiul lui Iehoiada, s-a urcat şi a căzut asupra lui şi l-a ucis; iar el a fost îngropat în casa lui în pustie.

35 And the King put Benaiah the sonne of Iehoiada in his roume ouer the hoste: and the King set Zadok the Priest in the roume of Abiathar.

Şi împăratul l-a pus pe Benaia, fiul lui Iehoiada, în locul lui peste oştire; şi pe preotul Ţadoc, împăratul l-a pus în locul lui Abiatar.

36 Afterwarde the King sent, and called Shimei, and sayde vnto him, Buylde thee an house in Ierusalem, and dwell there, and depart not thence any whither.

Şi împăratul a trimis şi l-a chemat pe Şimei şi i-a spus: Zideşte-ţi o casă în Ierusalim şi locuieşte acolo şi să nu ieşi de acolo nici încoace nici încolo.

37 For that day that thou goest out, and passest ouer the riuer of Kidron, knowe assuredly, that thou shalt dye the death: thy blood shall be vpon thine owne head.

Pentru că va fi, că în ziua când ieşi afară şi treci peste pârâul Chedron, să ştii într-adevăr că vei muri negreşit; sângele tău va fi asupra capului tău.

38 And Shimei sayd vnto the King, The thing is good: as my lord the King hath sayd, so wil thy seruant doe. So Shimei dwelt in Ierusalem many dayes.

Şi Şimei i-a zis împăratului: Spusa este bună; precum domnul meu împăratul a spus, astfel servitorul tău va face. Şi Şimei a locuit în Ierusalim multe zile.

39 And after three yeres two of the seruants of Shimei fled away vnto Achish sonne of Maachah King of Gath: and they tolde Shimei, saying, Behold, thy seruants be in Gath.

Şi s-a întâmplat, la sfârşitul a trei ani, că doi dintre servitorii lui Şimei au fugit la Achiş, fiul lui Maaca, împăratul din Gat. Şi ei i-au spus lui Şimei, zicând: Iată, servitorii tăi sunt în Gat.

40 And Shimei arose, and sadled his asse, and went to Gath to Achish, to seeke his seruantes: and Shimei went, and brought his seruants from Gath.

Şi Şimei s-a ridicat şi şi-a înşeuat măgarul şi a mers la Gat, la Achiş, să îi caute pe servitorii săi; şi Şimei a mers şi i-a adus pe servitorii săi din Gat.

41 And it was tolde Salomon, that Shimei had gone from Ierusalem to Gath, and was come againe.

Şi i s-a spus lui Solomon că Şimei mersese din Ierusalim la Gat şi s-a întors.

42 And the King sent and called Shimei, and sayde vnto him, Did I not make thee to sweare by the Lord, and protested vnto thee, saying, That day that thou goest out, and walkest any whither, knowe assuredly that thou shalt dye the death? And thou saydest vnto mee, The thing is good, that I haue heard.

Şi împăratul a trimis şi l-a chemat pe Şimei şi i-a spus: Nu te-am pus eu să juri pe DOMNUL şi nu te-am avertizat, spunând: Să ştii negreşit, că în ziua când vei ieşi afară şi vei umbla încoace şi încolo, vei muri negreşit? Şi tu mi-ai spus: Cuvântul pe care l-am auzit este bun.

43 Why then hast thou not kept the othe of the Lord, and the commandement wherewith I charged thee?

De ce atunci nu ai păzit jurământul DOMNULUI şi porunca pe care ţi-am poruncit-o?

44 The King sayde also to Shimei, Thou knowest all the wickednes whereunto thine heart is priuie, that thou diddest to Dauid my father: the Lord therefore shall bring thy wickednesse vpon thine owne head.

Împăratul i-a mai spus lui Şimei: Cunoşti toată stricăciunea, la care inima ta este martoră, pe care i-ai făcut-o lui David, tatăl meu: de aceea DOMNUL să întoarcă răutatea ta asupra capului tău;

45 And let King Salomon be blessed, and the throne of Dauid stablished before the Lord for euer.

Şi împăratul Solomon să fie binecuvântat şi tronul lui David să fie întemeiat înaintea DOMNULUI pentru totdeauna.

46 So the King comanded Benaiah the sonne of Iehoiada: who went out and smote him that he dyed. And the kingdome was established in the hand of Salomon.

Astfel împăratul i-a poruncit lui Benaia, fiul lui Iehoiada, şi el a fost acela care a ieşit şi a căzut asupra lui şi acela a murit. Şi împărăţia a fost întemeiată, în mâna lui Solomon.
