1 Kings 2
1 Then the dayes of Dauid drewe neere that he should die, and hee charged Salomon his sonne, saying,
Mikor pedig elközelgett Dávidnak ideje, hogy meghaljon, parancsot ada Salamonnak az ő fiának, ezt mondván:
2 I go the way of all the earth: be strong therefore, and shew thy selfe a man,
Én elmegyek az egész földnek útján; erősítsd meg magad és légy férfiú.
3 And take heede to the charge of the Lord thy God, to walke in his wayes, and keepe his statutes, and his commandements, and his iudgements, and his testimonies, as it is written in the Law of Moses, that thou mayest prosper in all that thou doest, and in euery thing whereunto thou turnest thee,
És őrízd meg az Úrnak a te Istenednek őrizetit, hogy az ő útain járj, és megőrizzed az ő rendeléseit, parancsolatit és ítéleteit, és bizonyságtételeit, a mint meg van írva a Mózes törvényében: hogy előmented legyen mindenekben, a melyeket cselekedéndesz, és mindenütt, valamerre fordulándasz;
4 That the Lord may confirme his worde which hee spake vnto me, saying, If thy sonnes take heede to their way, that they walke before me in trueth, with all their hearts, and with all their soules, thou shalt not (sayd he) want one of thy posteritie vpon the throne of Israel.
Hogy megteljesítse az Úr az ő beszédét, melyet szólott nékem, mondván: Ha megőrizéndik a te fiaid az ő útjokat, járván én előttem tökéletességgel, teljes szívök és teljes lelkök szerint; ezt mondván, mondom: Soha el nem fogy a férfiú te közüled az Izráelnek királyi székiből.
5 Thou knowest also what Ioab the sonne of Zeruiah did to me, and what he did to the two captaines of the hostes of Israel, vnto Abner the sonne of Ner, and vnto Amasa the sonne of Iether: whome he slewe, and shed blood of battell in peace, and put the blood of warre vpon his girdle that was about his loynes, and in his shooes that were on his feete.
Azt is jól tudod, mit cselekedett én velem Joáb, a Séruja fia, mit cselekedett az Izráel seregeinek két fővezérével, Abnerrel, a Nér fiával, és Amasával, a Jéter fiával, a kiket megölt, harczi vért ontván békességnek idején, és hintett harczi vért az ő derekának övére és az ő lábának saruira.
6 Doe therefore according to thy wisdome, and let thou not his hoare head go downe to the graue in peace. (Sheol h7585)
Cselekedjél a te bölcseséged szerint, és ne engedd, hogy megőszülvén, békességgel menjen a koporsóba. (Sheol h7585)
7 But shew kindnes vnto the sonnes of Barzillai the Gileadite, and let them be among them that eate at thy table: for so they came to me when I fled from Absalom thy brother.
De a gileádbeli Barzillainak fiaival cselekedjél irgalmasságot, és legyenek a te asztalod vendégei, mert így közeledtek ők is hozzám, mikor Absolon, a te testvéred elől menekültem.
8 And beholde, with thee is Shimei the sonne of Gera, the sonne of Iemini, of Bahurim, which cursed mee with an horrible curse in the day when I went to Mahanaim: but hee came downe to meete me at Iorden, and I sware to him by the Lord, saying, I will not slay thee with the sword.
És ímé veled van Sémei, Gérának fia, a Bahurimbeli Benjáminita, a ki gyalázatosan szidalmazott akkor, mikor Mahanáimba mentem; de aztán, mikor elém alájött a Jordánhoz, megesküdtem néki az Úrra, és mondék: Nem öllek meg téged fegyverrel;
9 But thou shalt not count him innocent: for thou art a wise man, and knowest what thou oughtest to doe vnto him: therefore thou shalt cause his hoare head to goe downe to the graue with blood. (Sheol h7585)
Te azonban ne hagyd őt büntetés nélkül, és mivel eszes férfiú vagy, tudod, mit kelljen cselekedned vele, hogy az ő vénségét vérrel bocsássad a koporsóba. (Sheol h7585)
10 So Dauid slept with his fathers, and was buried in the citie of Dauid.
Azután elaludt Dávid az ő atyáival, és eltemetteték a Dávid városában.
11 And the dayes which Dauid reigned vpon Israel, were fourtie yeeres: seuen yeeres reigned he in Hebron, and thirtie and three yeeres reigned he in Ierusalem.
Az idő pedig, a melyben uralkodék Dávid Izráelen, negyven esztendő. Hebronban uralkodék hét esztendeig, Jeruzsálemben pedig uralkodék harminchárom esztendeig.
12 Then sate Salomon vpon the throne of Dauid his father, and his kingdome was stablished mightily.
Azután Salamon ült Dávidnak, az ő atyjának királyi székibe, és megerősödék az ő királyi birodalma felette igen.
13 And Adonijah the sonne of Haggith came to Bath-sheba the mother of Salomon: and she saide, Commest thou peaceably? And hee said, Yea.
De Adónia, a Haggit fia beméne Bethsabéhoz, a Salamon anyjához, és az monda: Békességes-é a te jöveteled? Ki felele: Békességes.
14 He said moreouer, I haue a sute vnto thee. And she sayd, Say on.
És monda: Beszédem volna veled. Monda az: Szólj.
15 Then he said, Thou knowest that the kingdome was mine, and that all Israel set their faces on me, that I should reigne: howbeit the kingdome is turned away, and is my brothers: for it came to him by the Lord.
Akkor monda Adónia: Te tudod, hogy az ország az enyém vala, és az egész Izráel reám néz vala, hogy én uralkodjam; de elvéteték az ország tőlem, és lőn az én atyámfiáé, mert az Úrtól adattaték néki.
16 Nowe therefore I aske thee one request, refuse me not. And she said vnto him, Say on.
Most egy kérést kérek tőled, ne szégyenítsd meg orczámat. Az pedig monda: Beszélj!
17 And he sayd, Speake, I pray thee, vnto Salomon ye King, (for he will not say thee nay) that he giue me Abishag the Shunammite to wife.
És monda: Beszélj, kérlek Salamon királylyal; mert ő a te kérésedet meg nem veti, hogy adja nékem a Súnemből való Abiságot feleségül.
18 And Bath-sheba sayd, Well, I will speake for thee vnto the King.
Felele Bethsabé: Jól van, majd szólok melletted a királynak.
19 Bath-sheba therefore went vnto King Salomon, to speake vnto him for Adonijah: and the King rose to meete her, and bowed himselfe vnto her, and sate downe on his throne: and he caused a seate to be set for the Kings mother, and she sate at his right hand.
És beméne Bethsabé Salamon királyhoz, hogy beszéljen vele Adónia érdekében; és felkele a király, és elébe menvén meghajtá magát előtte, és leüle királyi székibe; és széket tétete a király anyjának, hogy üljön az ő jobbkeze felől.
20 Then she sayd, I desire a small request of thee, say me not nay. Then the King sayde vnto her, Aske on, my mother: for I will not say thee nay.
És monda Bethsabé: Egy kis kérést kérek tőled, ne szégyenítsd meg orczámat. És monda néki a király: Kérj édes anyám; mert nem szégyenítem meg orczádat.
21 She sayd then, Let Abishag the Shunammite be giuen to Adonijah thy brother to wife.
Monda ő: Adassék a Súnemből való Abiság Adóniának, a te testvérednek feleségül.
22 But King Salomon answered and sayd vnto his mother, And why doest thou aske Abishag the Shunammite for Adonijah? aske for him the kingdome also: for he is mine elder brother, and hath for him both Abiathar the Priest, and Ioab the sonne of Zeruiah.
Akkor felele Salamon király, és monda az ő anyjának: De miért kéred te a Súnembeli Abiságot Adóniának? Kérjed néki az országot is; mert ő az én bátyám, és vele egyetért Abjátár pap, és Joáb, a Séruja fia.
23 Then King Salomon sware by the Lord, saying, God doe so to me and more also, if Adoniiah hath not spoken this worde against his owne life.
És megesküvék Salamon király az Úrra, mondván: Úgy cselekedjék velem az Isten, és úgy segéljen, hogy Adónia a saját élete ellen szólotta ezt a beszédet!
24 Now therefore as ye Lord liueth, who hath established me, and set me on the throne of Dauid my father, who also hath made me an house, as he promised, Adoniiah shall surely die this day.
Most azért él az Úr, a ki megerősített engem és ültetett engem az én atyámnak, Dávidnak királyi székibe, és a ki házat szerzett nékem, a mint megmondotta volt: ma Adóniának meg kell halnia!
25 And King Salomon sent by the hand of Benaiah the sonne of Iehoiada, and hee smote him that he dyed.
Elküldé azért Salamon király Benáját, a Jójada fiát, a ki levágá őt, és meghala.
26 Then the King sayd vnto Abiathar the Priest, Go to Anathoth vnto thine owne fieldes: for thou art worthy of death: but I will not this day kill thee, because thou barest the Arke of the Lord God before Dauid my father, and because thou hast suffered in all, wherein my father hath bene afflicted.
Abjátár papnak pedig monda a király: Menj el Anathótba, a te jószágodba, mert halálnak fia vagy; de ma meg nem öletlek, mivel te hordoztad az Úr Istennek ládáját Dávid, az én atyám előtt, és mivel az én atyámnak minden nyomorúságaiban részes voltál.
27 So Salomon cast out Abiathar from being Priest vnto the Lord, that he might fulfill the wordes of the Lord, which he spake against the house of Eli in Shiloh.
És kiűzé Salamon Abjátárt, hogy ne legyen az Úrnak papja, hogy beteljesedjék az Úrnak beszéde, a melyet szólott vala az Éli háza felől Silóban.
28 Then tidings came to Ioab: (for Ioab had turned after Adoniiah, but he turned not after Absalom) and Ioab fled vnto the Tabernacle of the Lord, and caught hold on the hornes of the altar.
És eljutott ez a hír Joábhoz, mert Joáb Adóniához hajlott vala, noha azelőtt nem hajlott vala Absolonhoz, és elfuta Joáb az Úrnak sátorába, és megfogá az oltárnak szarvait.
29 And it was tolde king Salomon, that Ioab was fled vnto the Tabernacle of the Lord, and beholde, he is by the altar. Then Salomon sent Benaiah the sonne of Iehoiada, saying, Goe, fall vpon him.
Hírül adák pedig Salamon királynak, hogy Joáb az Úrnak sátorához futott, és ímé az oltár mellett áll. Ekkor elküldé Salamon Benáját, a Jójada fiát, mondván: Menj el, vágd le őt.
30 And Benaiah came to the Tabernacle of the Lord, and sayd vnto him, Thus sayth the King, Come out. And he sayde, Nay, but I will die here. Then Benaiah brought the King worde againe, saying, Thus sayd Ioab, and thus he answered me.
Mikor pedig Benája az Úrnak sátorához ért, monda néki: Ezt mondja a király: Jőjj ki. Kinek felele Joáb: Nem, itt akarok meghalni. És megvivé Benája a királynak e dolgot, mondván: Így szólott Joáb és így felelt nékem.
31 And the King sayde vnto him, Doe as he hath sayd, and smite him, and bury him, that thou mayest take away the blood, which Ioab shed causelesse, from me and from the house of my father.
És monda néki a király: Cselekedjél úgy, a mint szólott; vágd le őt és temesd el, hogy elvedd az ártatlan vért, a melyet kiontott Joáb, én rólam és az én atyámnak házáról.
32 And the Lord shall bring his blood vpon his owne head: for he smote two men more righteous and better then he, and slew them with the sword, and my father Dauid knew not: to wit, Abner the sonne of Ner, captaine of the hoste of Israel, and Amasa the sonne of Iether captaine of the hoste of Iudah.
És fordítsa az Úr az ő fejére az ő vérét, a miért nálánál igazabb és jobb két férfira támadott, és megölé őket fegyverrel az én atyámnak, Dávidnak tudta nélkül, tudniillik Abnert, Nérnek fiát, az Izráel seregének fővezérét és Amasát, Jéternek fiát, Júda vitézeinek fővezérét.
33 Their blood shall therefore returne vpon the head of Ioab, and on the head of his seede for euer: but vpon Dauid, and vpon his seede, and vpon his house, and vpon his throne shall there be peace for euer from the Lord.
Ezeknek a vére térjen Joáb fejére és az ő magvának fejére mindörökké: Dávidnak pedig és az ő magvának és az ő házának és királyi székének békessége legyen az Úrtól mindörökké.
34 So Benaiah the sonne of Iehoiada went vp, and smote him, and slewe him, and he was buryed in his owne house in the wildernesse.
És elméne Benája, Jójada fia, és reá rohanván megölé őt; és eltemetteték az ő házában, a pusztában.
35 And the King put Benaiah the sonne of Iehoiada in his roume ouer the hoste: and the King set Zadok the Priest in the roume of Abiathar.
Rendelé pedig a király a Jójada fiát ő helyette a sereg fölé, és Sádók papot rendelé a király Abjátár helyett.
36 Afterwarde the King sent, and called Shimei, and sayde vnto him, Buylde thee an house in Ierusalem, and dwell there, and depart not thence any whither.
És elkülde a király, és magához hivatá Sémeit, és monda néki: Építs házat magadnak Jeruzsálemben és lakjál ott; és onnét ne menj ki se ide, se tova.
37 For that day that thou goest out, and passest ouer the riuer of Kidron, knowe assuredly, that thou shalt dye the death: thy blood shall be vpon thine owne head.
Mert valamely nap kimenéndesz, és általmenéndesz a Kidron patakján, tudd meg, hogy meg kell halnod, a te véred lészen tennen fejeden.
38 And Shimei sayd vnto the King, The thing is good: as my lord the King hath sayd, so wil thy seruant doe. So Shimei dwelt in Ierusalem many dayes.
És monda Sémei a királynak: Tetszik nékem e beszéd; a miképen szólott az én uram, a király, a képen cselekeszik a te szolgád; és sok ideig lakék Sémei Jeruzsálemben.
39 And after three yeres two of the seruants of Shimei fled away vnto Achish sonne of Maachah King of Gath: and they tolde Shimei, saying, Behold, thy seruants be in Gath.
Lőn azonban három esztendő mulva, hogy Sémeinek két szolgája elszökött Ákishoz, Maaka fiához, a Gáthbeli királyhoz; és hírül adák Sémeinek, mondván: Ímé a te szolgáid Gáthban vannak.
40 And Shimei arose, and sadled his asse, and went to Gath to Achish, to seeke his seruantes: and Shimei went, and brought his seruants from Gath.
Ekkor felkelt Sémei, és megnyergelé szamarát, és elméne Gáthba Ákishoz, hogy megkeresse az ő szolgáit. Oda érvén Sémei, meghozá szolgáit Gáthból.
41 And it was tolde Salomon, that Shimei had gone from Ierusalem to Gath, and was come againe.
Hírül adák pedig Salamonnak, hogy elment Sémei Jeruzsálemből Gáthba, és haza jött.
42 And the King sent and called Shimei, and sayde vnto him, Did I not make thee to sweare by the Lord, and protested vnto thee, saying, That day that thou goest out, and walkest any whither, knowe assuredly that thou shalt dye the death? And thou saydest vnto mee, The thing is good, that I haue heard.
Akkor elkülde a király, és magához hivatá Sémeit, és monda néki: Nemde esküvéssel kényszerítettelek-é téged az Úrra, és bizonyságot tettem néked, ezt mondván: Valamely napon kimenéndesz, s ide s tova menéndesz, bizonynyal tudjad, hogy meghalsz; és azt mondád nékem: Tetszik e beszéd, megértettem.
43 Why then hast thou not kept the othe of the Lord, and the commandement wherewith I charged thee?
Miért nem tartottad hát meg az Úr előtt való esküvést, és a parancsolatot, a melyet néked parancsoltam?
44 The King sayde also to Shimei, Thou knowest all the wickednes whereunto thine heart is priuie, that thou diddest to Dauid my father: the Lord therefore shall bring thy wickednesse vpon thine owne head.
Monda annakfelette a király Sémeinek: Te tudod mindazt a gonoszságot, a melyről a te szíved bizonyság, és a melyet atyámmal Dáviddal cselekedtél: az Úr most mindazt a gonoszságot a saját fejedre fordította.
45 And let King Salomon be blessed, and the throne of Dauid stablished before the Lord for euer.
Salamon király pedig áldott lészen, és Dávidnak királyi széke lészen állandó az Úr előtt mindörökké.
46 So the King comanded Benaiah the sonne of Iehoiada: who went out and smote him that he dyed. And the kingdome was established in the hand of Salomon.
És parancsola a király Benájának, a Jójada fiának, a ki elméne, és levágá Sémeit, és meghala. És az ország megerősödék Salamon kezében.
