1 Kings 17
1 And Eliiah the Tishbite one of the inhabitats of Gilead sayde vnto Ahab, As the Lord God of Israel liueth, before whom I stand, there shall be neither dewe nor rayne these yeeres, but according to my worde.
Und Elia, der Tisbiter, aus Tisbe-Gilead, sprach zu Ahab: So wahr der HERR, der Gott Israels, lebt, vor dessen Angesicht ich stehe, es soll diese Jahre weder Tau noch Regen fallen, es sei denn, daß ich es sage!
2 And the worde of the Lord came vnto him, saying,
Und das Wort des HERRN erging an ihn also:
3 Go hence, and turne thee Eastwarde, and hide thy selfe in the riuer Cherith, that is ouer against Iorden,
Gehe fort von hier und wende dich gegen Morgen und verbirg dich am Bache Krit, der gegen den Jordan fließt!
4 And thou shalt drinke of the riuer: and I haue comanded the rauens to feede thee there.
Und du sollst aus dem Bache trinken, und ich habe den Raben geboten, daß sie dich daselbst versorgen.
5 So he went and did according vnto the word of the Lord: for he went, and remained by the riuer Cherith that is ouer against Iorden.
Da ging er hin und tat nach dem Worte des HERRN; er ging und setzte sich an den Bach Krit, der gegen den Jordan fließt.
6 And the rauens brought him bread and flesh in the morning, and bread and flesh in the euening, and he dranke of the riuer.
Und die Raben brachten ihm Brot und Fleisch am Morgen und am Abend, und er trank aus dem Bache.
7 And after a while the riuer dryed vp, because there fell no rayne vpon the earth.
Es begab sich aber nach einiger Zeit, daß der Bach vertrocknete; denn es war kein Regen im Lande.
8 And the worde of the Lord came vnto him, saying,
Da erging das Wort des HERRN an ihn also:
9 Vp, and get thee to Zarephath, which is in Zidon, and remaine there: beholde, I haue commanded a widow there to sustaine thee.
Mache dich auf und gehe nach Zarpat, das bei Zidon liegt, und bleibe daselbst; siehe, ich habe daselbst einer Witwe geboten, daß sie dich mit Nahrung versorge!
10 So he arose, and went to Zarephath: and when he came to the gate of the citie, beholde, the widowe was there gathering stickes: and he called her, and sayde, Bring me, I pray thee, a litle water in a vessel, that I may drinke.
Und er machte sich auf und ging nach Zarpat. Und als er an das Stadttor kam, siehe, da war eine Witwe, die Holz auflas. Und er rief sie an und sprach: Hole mir doch ein wenig Wasser im Geschirr, daß ich trinke!
11 And as she was going to fet it, he called to her, and sayde, Bring me, I pray thee, a morsell of bread in thine hand.
Als sie nun hinging zu holen, rief er ihr nach und sprach: Ich bitte dich, bringe mir auch einen Bissen Brot mit!
12 And shee sayde, As the Lord thy God liueth, I haue not a cake, but euen an handfull of meale in a barrel, and a litle oyle in a cruse: and behold, I am gathering a fewe stickes for to go in, and dresse it for me and my sonne, that we may eate it, and dye.
Sie sprach: So wahr der HERR, dein Gott, lebt, ich habe nichts Gebackenes, sondern nur eine Handvoll Mehl im Faß und ein wenig Öl im Krug! Und siehe, ich habe ein paar Hölzer aufgelesen und gehe hin und will mir und meinem Sohn etwas zurichten, daß wir es essen und darnach sterben.
13 And Eliiah said vnto her, Feare not, come, do as thou hast sayd, but make me thereof a litle cake first of all, and bring it vnto mee, and afterward make for thee, and thy sonne.
Elia sprach zu ihr: Fürchte dich nicht! Gehe hin und mache es, wie du gesagt hast; doch mache mir davon zuerst ein kleines Gebackenes und bringe es mir heraus; dir aber und deinem Sohne sollst du hernach etwas machen.
14 For thus saith the Lord God of Israel, The meale in the barrel shall not be wasted, neither shall the oyle in the cruse be diminished, vnto the time that the Lord send rayne vpon the earth.
Denn also spricht der HERR, der Gott Israels: Das Mehlfaß soll nicht leer werden und das Öl im Kruge nicht mangeln bis auf den Tag, da der HERR auf Erden regnen lassen wird!
15 So she went, and did as Eliiah sayd, and she did eate: so did he and her house for a certaine time.
Sie ging hin und tat, wie Elia gesagt hatte. Und er aß und sie auch und ihr Haus eine Zeitlang.
16 The barrell of the meale wasted not, nor the oyle was spent out of the cruse, according to the worde of the Lord, which he spake by the hand of Eliiah.
Das Mehlfaß ward nicht leer, und das Öl im Kruge mangelte nicht, nach dem Worte des HERRN, das er durch Elia geredet hatte.
17 And after these things, the sonne of the wife of the house fell sicke, and his sicknesse was so sore, that there was no breath left in him.
Aber nach diesen Geschichten ward der Sohn des Weibes, der Hauswirtin, krank, und seine Krankheit ward so schwer, daß kein Atem mehr in ihm blieb.
18 And she said vnto Eliiah, What haue I to do with thee, O thou man of God? art thou come vnto me to call my sinne to remembrance, and to slay my sonne?
Und sie sprach zu Elia: Du Mann Gottes, was habe ich mit dir zu schaffen? Du bist zu mir hergekommen, daß meiner Missetat gedacht werde und mein Sohn sterbe!
19 And he said vnto her, Giue me thy sonne. and he tooke him out of her bosome, and caryed him vp into a chamber, where he abode, and laid him vpon his owne bed.
Er sprach zu ihr: Gib mir deinen Sohn her! Und er nahm ihn von ihrem Schoß und trug ihn hinauf in das Obergemach, wo er wohnte, und legte ihn auf sein Bett;
20 Then he called vnto the Lord, and sayde, O Lord my God, hast thou punished also this widowe, with whome I soiourne, by killing her sonne?
und er rief den HERRN an und sprach: HERR, mein Gott, hast du auch der Witwe, bei der ich zu Gaste bin, so übel getan, daß du ihren Sohn sterben lässest?
21 And he stretched himselfe vpon the childe three times, and called vnto the Lord, and saide, O Lord my God, I pray thee, let this childes soule come into him againe.
Und er streckte sich dreimal über das Kind aus und rief den HERRN an und sprach: HERR, mein Gott, laß doch die Seele dieses Kindes wieder in dasselbe zurückkehren!
22 Then the Lord heard the voyce of Eliiah, and the soule of the child came into him againe, and he reuiued.
Und der HERR erhörte die Stimme des Elia. Und die Seele des Kindes kam wieder in dasselbe, und es ward lebendig.
23 And Eliiah tooke the childe, and brought him downe out of the chamber into the house, and deliuered him vnto his mother, and Eliiah sayd, Behold, thy sonne liueth.
Und Elia nahm das Kind und brachte es von dem Obergemach ins Haus hinab und gab es seiner Mutter und sprach: Siehe da, dein Sohn lebt!
24 And the woman saide vnto Eliiah, Now I knowe that thou art a man of God, and that the worde of the Lord in thy mouth is true.
Da sprach das Weib zu Elia: Nun erkenne ich, daß du ein Mann Gottes bist und daß das Wort des HERRN in deinem Munde Wahrheit ist!
