1 Kings 17
1 And Eliiah the Tishbite one of the inhabitats of Gilead sayde vnto Ahab, As the Lord God of Israel liueth, before whom I stand, there shall be neither dewe nor rayne these yeeres, but according to my worde.
Der Tisbiter Elias von den Beisassen Gileads aber sprach zu Achab: "So wahr der Herr, Israels Gott, lebt, vor dem ich stehe! In diesen nächsten Jahren fällt weder Tau noch Regen, außer es geschähe auf mein Wort."
2 And the worde of the Lord came vnto him, saying,
Dann erging an ihn des Herrn Wort also:
3 Go hence, and turne thee Eastwarde, and hide thy selfe in the riuer Cherith, that is ouer against Iorden,
"Geh von dannen und wende dich gen Osten! Verbirg dich an dem Bache Kerit, östlich vom Jordan.
4 And thou shalt drinke of the riuer: and I haue comanded the rauens to feede thee there.
Aus dem Bache sollst du trinken, und Raben heiße ich, dich dort zu ernähren!"
5 So he went and did according vnto the word of the Lord: for he went, and remained by the riuer Cherith that is ouer against Iorden.
Er ging und tat nach des Herrn Wort. Er ließ sich am Bache Kerit nieder, östlich vom Jordan.
6 And the rauens brought him bread and flesh in the morning, and bread and flesh in the euening, and he dranke of the riuer.
Und die Raben brachten ihm Brot und Fleisch, morgens und abends, und aus dem Bache trank er.
7 And after a while the riuer dryed vp, because there fell no rayne vpon the earth.
Nach einiger Zeit versiegte aber der Bach; denn im Lande war kein Regen gefallen.
8 And the worde of the Lord came vnto him, saying,
Da erging an ihn des Herrn Wort also:
9 Vp, and get thee to Zarephath, which is in Zidon, and remaine there: beholde, I haue commanded a widow there to sustaine thee.
"Auf! Geh nach Sarepta bei Sidon und bleibe dort! Ich habe dort einer Witwe geboten, dich zu pflegen."
10 So he arose, and went to Zarephath: and when he came to the gate of the citie, beholde, the widowe was there gathering stickes: and he called her, and sayde, Bring me, I pray thee, a litle water in a vessel, that I may drinke.
So brach er auf und ging nach Sarepta. Als er zum Stadttor kam, war dort gerade eine Witwe, die Holz auflas. Er rief ihr zu und sprach: "Hol mir in einem Gefäß ein wenig Wasser, daß ich trinke!"
11 And as she was going to fet it, he called to her, and sayde, Bring me, I pray thee, a morsell of bread in thine hand.
Sie ging, es zu holen. Da rief er ihr nach und sprach: "Bring mir doch einen Bissen Brot mit!"
12 And shee sayde, As the Lord thy God liueth, I haue not a cake, but euen an handfull of meale in a barrel, and a litle oyle in a cruse: and behold, I am gathering a fewe stickes for to go in, and dresse it for me and my sonne, that we may eate it, and dye.
Sie sprach: "So wahr der Herr, dein Gott, lebt! Ich habe nichts Gebackenes, nur noch eine Handvoll Mehl im Topf und im Krug ein wenig Öl. Eben lese ich ein paar Holzstücke auf. Dann gehe ich heim und bereite es für mich und meinen Sohn. Haben wir es verzehrt, dann wollen wir sterben."
13 And Eliiah said vnto her, Feare not, come, do as thou hast sayd, but make me thereof a litle cake first of all, and bring it vnto mee, and afterward make for thee, and thy sonne.
Elias sprach zu ihr: "Sei unbesorgt! Geh heim und tu, wie du gesagt! Doch mache mir davon zuerst einen kleinen Kuchen und bring ihn mir her! Für dich und deinen Sohn mach hernach einen solchen!
14 For thus saith the Lord God of Israel, The meale in the barrel shall not be wasted, neither shall the oyle in the cruse be diminished, vnto the time that the Lord send rayne vpon the earth.
Denn so spricht der Herr, Israels Gott: 'Das Mehl im Topfe geht nicht aus, der Ölkrug wird nicht leer, bis zu dem Tage, da der Herr zur Erde Regen sendet.'"
15 So she went, and did as Eliiah sayd, and she did eate: so did he and her house for a certaine time.
Sie ging und tat, was Elias gesagt. Und sie aßen davon, sie, er und ihr Haus, eine Zeitlang.
16 The barrell of the meale wasted not, nor the oyle was spent out of the cruse, according to the worde of the Lord, which he spake by the hand of Eliiah.
Das Mehl im Topfe aber ging nicht aus, und der Krug mit Öl ward nicht leer, nach des Herrn Wort, das er durch Elias geredet hatte.
17 And after these things, the sonne of the wife of the house fell sicke, and his sicknesse was so sore, that there was no breath left in him.
Nach diesen Begebnissen erkrankte der Sohn des Weibes, der Hauswirtin, und seine Krankheit steigerte sich, bis daß kein Odem mehr in ihm blieb.
18 And she said vnto Eliiah, What haue I to do with thee, O thou man of God? art thou come vnto me to call my sinne to remembrance, and to slay my sonne?
Da sprach sie zu Elias: "Was habe ich mit dir zu schaffen, Gottesmann? Du bist zu mir gekommen, meine Schuld zu rügen und meinen Sohn zu töten."
19 And he said vnto her, Giue me thy sonne. and he tooke him out of her bosome, and caryed him vp into a chamber, where he abode, and laid him vpon his owne bed.
Er sprach zu ihr: "Gib mir deinen Sohn!" Und er nahm ihn aus ihrem Schoß, trug ihn in das Obergemach, wo er wohnte, und legte ihn auf sein Bett.
20 Then he called vnto the Lord, and sayde, O Lord my God, hast thou punished also this widowe, with whome I soiourne, by killing her sonne?
Dann rief er zum Herrn und sprach: "Herr, mein Gott! Tust Du sogar der Witwe, bei der ich zu Gast bin, so übel, daß Du ihren Sohn sterben lässest?"
21 And he stretched himselfe vpon the childe three times, and called vnto the Lord, and saide, O Lord my God, I pray thee, let this childes soule come into him againe.
Dann streckte er sich dreimal über den Knaben, rief den Herrn an und sprach: "Herr, mein Gott! Möge dieses Knaben Seele in sein Inneres zurückkehren!"
22 Then the Lord heard the voyce of Eliiah, and the soule of the child came into him againe, and he reuiued.
Und der Herr hörte auf das Rufen des Elias. Und die Seele des Knaben kehrte in sein Inneres zurück, und er ward wieder lebendig.
23 And Eliiah tooke the childe, and brought him downe out of the chamber into the house, and deliuered him vnto his mother, and Eliiah sayd, Behold, thy sonne liueth.
Da nahm Elias den Knaben, brachte ihn vom Obergemach ins Haus hinab und gab ihn seiner Mutter. Und Elias sprach: "Siehe da! Dein Sohn lebt!"
24 And the woman saide vnto Eliiah, Now I knowe that thou art a man of God, and that the worde of the Lord in thy mouth is true.
Da sprach das Weib zu Elias: "Jetzt weiß ich, daß du ein Gottesmann bist und daß des Herrn Wort in deinem Munde Wahrheit ist."
