1 Kings 16

1 Then the word of the Lord came to Iehu the sonne of Hanani against Baasha, saying,

Aber das Wort des HERRN erging an Jehu, den Sohn Hananis, wider Baesa, also:

2 Forasmuch as I exalted thee out of the dust, and made thee captaine ouer my people Israel, and thou hast walked in the way of Ieroboam, and hast made my people Israel to sinne, to prouoke me with their sinnes,

Weil ich dich aus dem Staube erhoben und dich zum Fürsten über mein Volk Israel gemacht habe und du in dem Wege Jerobeams wandelst und mein Volk Israel zur Sünde verführst, so daß du mich durch ihre Sünden erzürnst,

3 Beholde, I will take away the posteritie of Baasha, and the posteritie of his house, and will make thine house like the house of Ieroboam the sonne of Nebat.

siehe, so will ich die Nachkommen Baesas und die Nachkommen seines Hauses ausrotten und mit deinem Haus verfahren wie mit dem Hause Jerobeams, des Sohnes Nebats.

4 He that dyeth of Baashas stocke in the citie, him shall the dogs eate: and that man of him which dyeth in the fieldes, shall the foules of the ayre eate.

Wer von Baesa in der Stadt stirbt, den sollen die Hunde fressen, und wer von ihm auf dem Felde stirbt, den sollen die Vögel des Himmels fressen!

5 And the rest of the actes of Baasha and what he did, and his power, are they not written in the booke of the Chronicles of the kings of Israel?

Was aber mehr von Baesa zu sagen ist, und was er getan hat und seine Macht, ist das nicht geschrieben in der Chronik der Könige von Israel?

6 So Baasha slept with his fathers, and was buryed in Tirzah, and Elah his sonne reigned in his steade.

Und Baesa legte sich zu seinen Vätern und ward begraben zu Tirza, und sein Sohn Ela ward König an seiner Statt.

7 And also by the hande of Iehu the sonne of Hanani the Prophet, came the worde of the Lord to Baasha, and to his house, that he shoulde be like the house of Ieroboam, euen for all the wickednes that he did in the sight of the Lord, in prouoking him with the worke of his hands, and because he killed him.

Auch erging das Wort des HERRN durch den Propheten Jehu, den Sohn Hananis, wider Baesa und wider sein Haus, um all des Bösen willen, das er vor dem HERRN tat, indem er ihn durch die Werke seiner Hände erzürnte, so daß es wurde wie das Haus Jerobeams, und weil er dasselbe erschlagen hatte.

8 In the sixe and twentie yeere of Asa king of Iudah began Elah ye sonne of Baasha to reigne ouer Israel in Tirzah, and reigned two yeere.

Im sechsundzwanzigsten Jahre Asas, des Königs von Juda, ward Ela, der Sohn Baesas, König über Israel zu Tirza [und regierte] zwei Jahre lang.

9 And his seruant Zimri, captaine of halfe his charets, conspired against him, as he was in Tirzah drinking, til he was drunken in the house of Arza steward of his house in Tirzah.

Und sein Knecht Simri, der Oberste über die Hälfte der Streitwagen, machte eine Verschwörung wider ihn. Er aber war zu Tirza, trank und ward trunken im Hause Arzas, welcher über das Haus gesetzt war zu Tirza.

10 And Zimri came and smote him and killed him, in the seuen and twentie yeere of Asa king of Iudah, and reigned in his stead.

Und Simri kam hinein und schlug ihn tot im siebenundzwanzigsten Jahr Asas, des Königs von Juda, und er ward König an seiner Statt.

11 And when he was King, and sate on his throne, he slew al the house of Baasha, not leauing thereof one to pisse against a wall, neither of his kinsfolkes nor of his friendes.

Als er nun König war und auf seinem Throne saß, erschlug er das ganze Haus Baesas und ließ nichts von ihm übrig, was männlich war, auch dessen Bluträcher und Freunde nicht.

12 So did Zimri destroy all the house of Baasha, according to the word of the Lord which he spake against Baasha by the hande of Iehu the Prophet,

Also vertilgte Simri das ganze Haus Baesas nach dem Worte des HERRN, das er durch den Propheten Jehu über Baesa geredet hatte:

13 For all the sinnes of Baasha, and sinnes of Elah his sonne, which they sinned and made Israel to sinne, and prouoked the Lord God of Israel with their vanities.

um aller Sünden Baesas und um der Sünden seines Sohnes Ela willen, die sie taten und wodurch sie Israel zur Sünde verführten und den HERRN, den Gott Israels, durch ihre Götzen erzürnten.

14 And the rest of the actes of Elah, and all that he did, are they not written in the booke of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel?

Was aber mehr von Ela zu sagen ist, und alles, was er getan hat, ist das nicht geschrieben in der Chronik der Könige von Israel?

15 In the seuen and twentie yeere of Asa King of Iudah did Zimri reigne seuen dayes in Tirzah, and the people was then in campe against Gibbethon, which belonged to the Philistims.

Im siebenundzwanzigsten Jahre Asas, des Königs von Juda, ward Simri König zu Tirza sieben Tage lang, und das Volk lag vor Gibbeton der Philister.

16 And the people of the hoste heard saye, Zimri hath conspired, and hath also slayne the King. Wherefore all Israel made Omri the captaine of the hoste, king ouer Israel that same day, euen in the hoste.

Als aber das Volk im Lager sagen hörte: Simri hat eine Verschwörung gemacht und hat auch den König erschlagen, da machte am selben Tage das ganze Israel im Lager Omri, den Feldhauptmann, zum König über Israel.

17 Then Omri went vp from Gibbethon, and all Israel with him, and they besieged Tirzah.

Und Omri und ganz Israel mit ihm zog von Gibbeton hinauf, und sie belagerten Tirza.

18 And when Zimri saw, that the citie was taken, he went into the palace of the Kings house, and burnt himselfe, and the Kings house with fire, and so dyed,

Als aber Simri sah, daß die Stadt eingenommen war, ging er in die Burg des Königshauses und verbrannte sich samt dem Hause des Königs

19 For his sinnes which hee sinned, in doing that which is euil in the sight of the Lord, in walking in the way of Ieroboam, and in his sinnes which he did, causing Israel to sinne.

und starb um seiner Sünden willen, die er getan hatte, indem er tat, was dem HERRN übel gefiel, und indem er wandelte in dem Wege Jerobeams und in seiner Sünde, die er tat, wodurch er Israel zur Sünde verführt hatte.

20 And the rest of the actes of Zimri, and his treason that hee wrought, are they not written in the booke of the Chronicles of the Kinges of Israel?

Was aber mehr von Simri zu sagen ist, und seine Verschwörung, die er gemacht hat, ist das nicht geschrieben in der Chronik der Könige von Israel?

21 Then were the people of Israel deuided into two partes: for halfe the people followed Tibni the sonne of Ginath to make him King, and the other halfe followed Omri.

Damals teilte sich das Volk Israel in zwei Parteien: die eine Hälfte des Volkes hing an Tibni, dem Sohne Ginats, um ihn zum König zu machen, die andere Hälfte aber an Omri.

22 But the people that folowed Omri, preuayled against the people that followed Tibni the sonne of Ginath: so Tibni dyed, and Omri reigned.

Aber das Volk, das an Omri hing, war stärker als das Volk, das an Tibni, dem Sohne Ginats, hing. Und Tibni starb und Omri ward König.

23 In the one and thirtie yeere of Asa King of Iudah bega Omri to reigne ouer Israel, and reigned twelue yeere. Sixe yeere reigned he in Tirzah.

Im einunddreißigsten Jahre Asas, des Königs von Juda, ward Omri König über Israel [und regierte] zwölf Jahre lang.

24 And he bought the mountaine Samaria of one Shemer for two talents of siluer, and buylt in the mountaine, and called the name of the citie, which he buylt, after the name of Shemer lord of the mountaine, Samaria.

Er kaufte aber den Berg Samaria von Semer um zwei Talente Silber und baute auf dem Berge und hieß die Stadt, die er baute, Samaria nach dem Namen Semers, des Herrn des Berges.

25 But Omri did euil in the eyes of the Lord, and did worse then all that were before him.

Und Omri tat, was dem HERRN übel gefiel, und war ärger als alle, die vor ihm gewesen.

26 For he walked in all the way of Ieroboam the sonne of Nebat, and in his sinnes wherewith he made Israel to sinne in prouoking the Lord God of Israel with their vanities.

Und er wandelte in allen Wegen Jerobeams, des Sohnes Nebats, und in seinen Sünden, wodurch er Israel zur Sünde verführte, so daß sie den HERRN, den Gott Israels, durch ihre Götzen erzürnten.

27 And the rest of the actes of Omri, that hee did, and his strength that he shewed, are they not written in the booke of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel?

Was aber mehr von Omri zu sagen ist, was er getan, und seine Tapferkeit, die er bewiesen hat, ist das nicht geschrieben in der Chronik der Könige von Israel?

28 And Omri slept with his fathers, and was buryed in Samaria: and Ahab his sonne reigned in his stead.

Und Omri legte sich zu seinen Vätern und ward begraben zu Samaria, und Ahab, sein Sohn, ward König an seiner Statt.

29 Nowe Ahab the sonne of Omri began to reigne ouer Israel, in the eyght and thirtie yeere of Asa king of Iudah: and Ahab the sonne of Omri reigned ouer Israel in Samaria two and twenty yere.

Im achtunddreißigsten Jahre Asas, des Königs von Juda, ward Ahab, der Sohn Omris, König über Israel und regierte zu Samaria zweiundzwanzig Jahre lang über Israel.

30 And Ahab the sonne of Omri did worse in ye sight of the Lord then al that were before him.

Und Ahab, der Sohn Omris, tat, was dem HERRN übel gefiel, mehr als alle, die vor ihm gewesen waren.

31 For was it a light thing for him to walke in the sinnes of Ieroboam the sonne of Nebat, except hee tooke Iezebel also the daughter of Ethbaal King of the Zidonians to wife, and went and serued Baal, and worshipped him?

Denn das war noch das Geringste, daß er in den Sünden Jerobeams, des Sohnes Nebats, wandelte; er nahm sogar Isebel, die Tochter Et-Baals, des Königs der Zidonier, zum Weibe und ging hin und diente dem Baal und betete ihn an.

32 Also he reared vp an altar to Baal in the house of Baal, which he had buylt in Samaria.

Und er richtete dem Baal einen Altar auf im Hause Baals, welches er zu Samaria baute.

33 And Ahab made a groue, and Ahab proceeded, and did prouoke the Lord God of Israel more then all the kings of Israel that were before him.

Ahab machte auch eine Aschera, also daß Ahab mehr tat, was den HERRN, den Gott Israels, erzürnte, als alle Könige von Israel, die vor ihm gewesen waren.

34 In his dayes did Hiel the Bethelite buylde Iericho: he layed the foundation thereof in Abiram his eldest sonne, and set vp the gates thereof in his yongest sonne Segub, according to the worde of the Lord which he spake by Ioshua the sonne of Nun.

Zu derselben Zeit baute Hiel von Bethel Jericho [wieder auf]. Es kostete ihn seinen erstgeborenen Sohn Abiram, als er ihren Grund legte, und seinen jüngsten Sohn Segub, als er ihre Tore setzte, nach dem Worte des HERRN, welches er durch Josua, den Sohn Nuns, geredet hatte.
