1 Kings 14

1 At that time Abiiah the sonne of Ieroboam fell sicke.

En aquel tiempo Abías, el hijo de Jeroboam, se enfermó.

2 And Ieroboam saide vnto his wife, Vp, I pray thee, and disguise thy selfe, that they know not that thou art the wife of Ieroboam, and goe to Shiloh: for there is Ahiiah the Prophet, which tolde mee that I shoulde bee King ouer this people,

Y Jeroboam dijo a su mujer: Levántate ahora, disfrázate para que no reconozcan que eres la esposa de Jeroboam, y ve a Silo; mira, Ahías está ahí, el profeta que dijo que yo sería rey sobre este pueblo.

3 And take with thee tenne loaues and craknels, and a bottell of honie, and go to him: hee shall tell thee what shall become of the yong man.

Y llévate diez tortas de pan y tortas secas y una olla de miel, y ve a él: él te dirá lo que será del niño.

4 And Ieroboams wife did so, and arose, and went to Shiloh, and came to the house of Ahiiah: but Ahiiah could not see, for his sight was decayed for his age.

Así lo hizo la esposa de Jeroboam, se levantó, fue a Silo y fue a la casa de Ahías. Ahora Ahías no podía ver, porque era muy viejo.

5 Then the Lord saide vnto Ahiiah, Beholde, the wife of Ieroboam commeth to aske a thing of thee for her sonne, for he is sicke: thus and thus shalt thou say vnto her: for when shee commeth in, shee shall feine her selfe to be another.

Y él Señor había dicho a Ahías: La esposa de Jeroboam vendrá a recibir noticias tuyas sobre su hijo, que está enfermo; Dale tal y cual respuesta; porque ella se hará parecer otra mujer.

6 Therefore when Ahiiah heard the sounde of her feete as shee came in at the doore, hee saide, Come in, thou wife of Ieroboam: why feinest thou thus thy selfe to bee an other? I am sent to thee with heauie tidings.

Entonces Ahías, oyendo el ruido de sus pasos entrando por la puerta, dijo: Entra, oh mujer de Jeroboam; ¿Por qué te haces pasar por otra? porque yo soy enviado a ti con amargas noticias.

7 Goe, tel Ieroboam, Thus saith the Lord God of Israel, Forasmuch as I haue exalted thee from among the people, and haue made thee prince ouer my people Israel,

Ve y dile a Jeroboam: Estas son las palabras del Señor, el Dios de Israel: Aunque te saqué de entre la gente, levantándote para que fueras un gobernante sobre mi pueblo Israel.

8 And haue rent the kingdome away from the house of Dauid, and haue giuen it thee, and thou hast not bene as my seruant Dauid, which kept my commandements, and followed mee with all his heart, and did onely that which was right in mine eyes,

Y quité el reino por la fuerza de la semilla de David y te lo di a ti, pero tu no has sido como mi siervo David, quien cumplió mis órdenes y fue sincero conmigo con todo su corazón, todo lo que hizo era justo ante mis ojos.

9 But hast done euil aboue al that were before thee (for thou hast gone and made thee other gods, and molten images, to prouoke me, and hast cast me behinde thy backe)

Pero has hecho el mal más que ningún otro antes que tú, y has creado para ti otros dioses e imágenes de metal que me han llevado a la ira y me han dado la espalda.

10 Therefore beholde, I will bring euill vpon the house of Ieroboam, and will cut off from Ieroboam him that pisseth against the wall, aswell him that is shut vp, as him that is left in Israel, and will sweepe away the remnant of the house of Ieroboam, as a man sweepeth away doung, till it be all gone.

Entonces enviaré el mal en la línea de Jeroboam, separando de su familia a todos los hijos varones, aquellos que están encerrados y los que salen libres en Israel; la familia de Jeroboam será barrida como un hombre que quita los desperdicios hasta que se acabe.

11 The dogges shall eate him of Ieroboams stocke that dyeth in the citie, and the foules of the aire shall eate him that dyeth in the fielde: for the Lord hath said it.

Los de la familia de Jeroboam que mueran en la ciudad se convertirán en alimento para los perros; y aquellos a quienes la muerte viene en campo abierto, serán alimento para las aves del aire; porque el Señor lo ha dicho.

12 Vp therefore and get thee to thine house: for when thy feete enter into the citie, the childe shall die.

¡Arriba, entonces! vuelve a tu casa; y en la hora en que tus pies entren en la ciudad, se producirá la muerte del niño.

13 And al Israel shall mourne for him, and burie him: for he onely of Ieroboam shall come to the graue, because in him there is found some goodnes towarde the Lord God of Israel in the house of Ieroboam.

Y todo Israel pondrá su cuerpo en reposo, llorando por él, porque solo él de la familia de Jeroboam será puesto en su lugar de reposo en la tierra; Porque de toda la familia de Jeroboam, en él, solo el Señor, el Dios de Israel, ha visto algo bueno.

14 Moreouer, the Lord shall stirre him vp a King ouer Israel, which shall destroy the house of Ieroboam in that day: what? yea, euen nowe.

Y el Señor levantará un rey sobre Israel, que enviará destrucción sobre la familia de Jeroboam en aquel día;

15 For the Lord shall smite Israel, as when a reede is shaken in the water, and hee shall weede Israel out of his good lad, which he gaue to their fathers, and shall scatter them beyond the Riuer, because they haue made them groues, prouoking the Lord to anger.

Y hasta ahora, la mano del Señor ha descendido sobre Israel, sacudiéndola como una hierba en el agua; y, arrancando a Israel de esta buena tierra, que dio a sus padres, los enviará de este modo al otro lado del río; porque se han hecho imágenes, moviendo al Señor a la ira.

16 And he shall giue Israel vp, because of the sinnes of Ieroboam, who did sinne, and made Israel to sinne.

Y él entregará a Israel por los pecados que Jeroboam cometió e hizo que Israel cometiera.

17 And Ieroboams wife arose, and departed, and came to Tirzah, and when shee came to the threshold of the house, the yong man dyed,

Entonces la mujer de Jeroboam se levantó, se fue y se fue a Tirsa; y cuando llegó a la puerta de la casa, la muerte llegó al niño.

18 And they buried him, and all Israel lamented him; according to the word of the Lord, which hee spake by the hand of his seruant Ahiiah the Prophet.

Y todo Israel puso su cuerpo en reposo, llorando sobre él, como él Señor lo había dicho por su siervo el profeta Ahías.

19 And the rest of Ieroboams actes, how hee warred, and howe hee reigned, beholde, they are written in the booke of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel.

Ahora, el resto de los hechos de Jeroboam, cómo hizo la guerra y cómo se convirtió en rey, están registrados en el libro de las crónicas de los reyes de Israel.

20 And the dayes which Ieroboam reigned, were two and twentie yeere: and he slept with his fathers, and Nadab his sonne reigned in his steade.

Y Jeroboam fue rey por veintidós años, y fue puesto a descansar con sus padres, y su hijo Nadab fue rey en su lugar.

21 Also Rehoboam the sonne of Salomon reigned in Iudah. Rehoboam was one and fourtie yere olde, when he began to reigne, and reigned seuenteene yere in Ierusalem, the citie which the Lord did chuse out of al the tribes of Israel, to put his Name there: and his mothers name was Naamah an Ammonite.

Y Roboam, hijo de Salomón, era rey en Judá. Roboam tenía cuarenta y un años cuando se convirtió en rey, y fue rey durante diecisiete años en Jerusalén, la ciudad que el Señor había hecho suya de todas las tribus de Israel, para poner su nombre allí; El nombre de su madre era Naama, una mujer amonita.

22 And Iudah wrought wickednesse in the sight of the Lord: and they prouoked him more with their sinnes, which they had committed, then all that which their fathers had done.

Y Judá hizo lo malo ante los ojos del Señor, y lo irritó más que a sus antepasados por sus pecados.

23 For they also made them hie places, and images, and groues on euery hie hill, and vnder euery greene tree.

Hicieron lugares altos, columnas de piedras y columnas de madera en cada colina alta y debajo de cada árbol verde;

24 There were also Sodomites in the lande, they did according to all the abominations of the nations, which the Lord had cast out before the children of Israel.

Y más que esto, hubo aquellos en la tierra que fueron utilizados con fines sexuales en la adoración de los dioses, cometiendo los mismos crímenes repugnantes que las naciones que el Señor había enviado ante los hijos de Israel.

25 And in the fift yere of King Rehoboam, Shishak King of Egypt came vp against Ierusale,

En el quinto año del rey Roboam, Sisac, rey de Egipto, subió contra Jerusalén;

26 And tooke the treasures of the house of the Lord, and the treasures of the Kings house, and tooke away all: also he caried away all the shields of golde which Salomon had made.

Y quitó todas las riquezas acumuladas de la casa del Señor y de la casa del rey, y todos los escudos de oro que Salomón había hecho.

27 And King Rehoboam made for them brasen shieldes, and committed them vnto ye hands of the chiefe of the garde, which wayted at the doore of the Kings house.

Entonces, en su lugar, el rey Roboam tenía otras fundas hechas de bronce, y las puso a cargo de los capitanes de los hombres armados que estaban apostados en la puerta de la casa del rey.

28 And when the King went into the house of the Lord, the garde bare them, and brought them againe into the gard chamber.

Y cada vez que el rey entraba en la casa del Señor, los hombres armados los llevaban y luego los llevaban a ponerlos en el cuarto de guardia.

29 And the rest of the actes of Rehoboam, and all that hee did, are they not written in the booke of the Chronicles of the Kings of Iudah?

Los demás hechos de Roboam y todo lo que hizo, ¿no están registrados en el libro de las crónicas de los reyes de Judá?

30 And there was warre betweene Rehoboam and Ieroboam continually.

Y hubo guerra entre Roboam y Jeroboam todos sus días.

31 And Rehoboam slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the citie of Dauid: his mothers name was Naamah an Ammonite. And Abiiam his sonne reigned in his stead.

Y Roboam murió y fue enterrado con sus padres en el pueblo de David; El nombre de su madre era Naama, una mujer amonita. Y Abiam su hijo se convirtió en rey en su lugar.
