1 Kings 14
1 At that time Abiiah the sonne of Ieroboam fell sicke.
Fue en ese momento cuando Abías, el hijo de Jeroboam, cayó enfermo.
2 And Ieroboam saide vnto his wife, Vp, I pray thee, and disguise thy selfe, that they know not that thou art the wife of Ieroboam, and goe to Shiloh: for there is Ahiiah the Prophet, which tolde mee that I shoulde bee King ouer this people,
Entonces Jeroboam le dijo a su esposa: “Por favor, ve y disfrázate para que nadie sepa que eres la esposa de Jeroboam. Luego ve a Silo y busca al profeta Ahías. Él fue quien me dijo que sería rey de este pueblo.
3 And take with thee tenne loaues and craknels, and a bottell of honie, and go to him: hee shall tell thee what shall become of the yong man.
Lleva contigo diez panes, algunas tortas y un tarro de miel para él. Él te explicará lo que le sucederá al niño”.
4 And Ieroboams wife did so, and arose, and went to Shiloh, and came to the house of Ahiiah: but Ahiiah could not see, for his sight was decayed for his age.
La esposa de Jeroboam hizo lo que le dijeron. Se levantó y fue a la casa de Ahías en Silo. Ahías no podía ver: se había quedado ciego a causa de su edad.
5 Then the Lord saide vnto Ahiiah, Beholde, the wife of Ieroboam commeth to aske a thing of thee for her sonne, for he is sicke: thus and thus shalt thou say vnto her: for when shee commeth in, shee shall feine her selfe to be another.
Pero el Señor le dijo a Ahías: “Mira, la mujer de Jeroboam viene a preguntarte por su hijo, porque está enfermo. Esto es lo que debes decirle, porque vendrá disfrazada”.
6 Therefore when Ahiiah heard the sounde of her feete as shee came in at the doore, hee saide, Come in, thou wife of Ieroboam: why feinest thou thus thy selfe to bee an other? I am sent to thee with heauie tidings.
Así que, en cuanto Ahías oyó sus pasos en la puerta, gritó: “¡Entra, mujer de Jeroboam! ¿Por qué te molestas en venir disfrazada? Me han dado una mala noticia para ti.
7 Goe, tel Ieroboam, Thus saith the Lord God of Israel, Forasmuch as I haue exalted thee from among the people, and haue made thee prince ouer my people Israel,
Ve y dile a Jeroboam que esto es lo que dice el Señor, el Dios de Israel: Te escogí de entre las masas y te hice gobernante de mi pueblo Israel.
8 And haue rent the kingdome away from the house of Dauid, and haue giuen it thee, and thou hast not bene as my seruant Dauid, which kept my commandements, and followed mee with all his heart, and did onely that which was right in mine eyes,
Le quité el reino a la casa de David y te lo di a ti. Pero no fuiste como mi siervo David, que guardaba mis mandamientos y se comprometía totalmente a seguirme, haciendo sólo lo que era justo a mis ojos.
9 But hast done euil aboue al that were before thee (for thou hast gone and made thee other gods, and molten images, to prouoke me, and hast cast me behinde thy backe)
Has hecho más mal que todos aquellos que vivieron antes que tú. Has ido y te has hecho otros dioses, ídolos de metal fundido que me han hecho enfadar. Me has desechado.
10 Therefore beholde, I will bring euill vpon the house of Ieroboam, and will cut off from Ieroboam him that pisseth against the wall, aswell him that is shut vp, as him that is left in Israel, and will sweepe away the remnant of the house of Ieroboam, as a man sweepeth away doung, till it be all gone.
Ahora presta atención, porque como resultado de esto voy a traer el desastre a la casa de Jeroboam. Exterminaré totalmente a cada uno de tus descendientes en Israel, ya sea esclavo o libre. Quemaré la casa de Jeroboam como un hombre que quema desechos hasta que todo desaparezca.
11 The dogges shall eate him of Ieroboams stocke that dyeth in the citie, and the foules of the aire shall eate him that dyeth in the fielde: for the Lord hath said it.
Los de la familia de Jeroboam que mueran en la ciudad serán devorados por los perros, y los que mueran en el campo serán devorados por las aves. Porque el Señor lo ha dicho.
12 Vp therefore and get thee to thine house: for when thy feete enter into the citie, the childe shall die.
“En cuanto a ti, levántate y vuelve a casa. En cuanto llegues a la ciudad, el niño morirá.
13 And al Israel shall mourne for him, and burie him: for he onely of Ieroboam shall come to the graue, because in him there is found some goodnes towarde the Lord God of Israel in the house of Ieroboam.
Todo Israel lo llorará y lo enterrará. Sólo él, de la familia de Jeroboam, será enterrado en una tumba porque sólo en él ha encontrado algo bueno el Señor, el Dios de Israel, de toda la familia de Jeroboam.
14 Moreouer, the Lord shall stirre him vp a King ouer Israel, which shall destroy the house of Ieroboam in that day: what? yea, euen nowe.
El Señor elegirá para sí un rey que gobierne sobre Israel y que destruya la casa de Jeroboam. ¡Esto está comenzando a suceder incluso ahora!
15 For the Lord shall smite Israel, as when a reede is shaken in the water, and hee shall weede Israel out of his good lad, which he gaue to their fathers, and shall scatter them beyond the Riuer, because they haue made them groues, prouoking the Lord to anger.
El Señor golpeará a Israel como una caña sacudida por el agua. Arrancará a Israel de raíz de esta buena tierra que les dio a sus antepasados y los dispersará más allá del Éufrates, porque han hecho postes de Asera paganos, haciendo enojar al Señor.
16 And he shall giue Israel vp, because of the sinnes of Ieroboam, who did sinne, and made Israel to sinne.
Abandonará a Israel a causa de los pecados de Jeroboam, los que él mismo cometió y los que hizo cometer a Israel”.
17 And Ieroboams wife arose, and departed, and came to Tirzah, and when shee came to the threshold of the house, the yong man dyed,
La esposa de Jeroboam se levantó y se fue a Tirsa. En cuanto atravesó la puerta de su casa, el niño murió.
18 And they buried him, and all Israel lamented him; according to the word of the Lord, which hee spake by the hand of his seruant Ahiiah the Prophet.
Todo Israel lo enterró y lo lloró, tal como el Señor había dicho por medio de su siervo el profeta Ahías.
19 And the rest of Ieroboams actes, how hee warred, and howe hee reigned, beholde, they are written in the booke of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel.
El resto de lo que hizo Jeroboam, cómo se dedicó a la guerra y cómo reinó, están registrados en el Libro de las Crónicas de los Reyes de Israel.
20 And the dayes which Ieroboam reigned, were two and twentie yeere: and he slept with his fathers, and Nadab his sonne reigned in his steade.
Jeroboam reinó durante veintidós años y luego murió. Su hijo Nadab lo sucedió como rey.
21 Also Rehoboam the sonne of Salomon reigned in Iudah. Rehoboam was one and fourtie yere olde, when he began to reigne, and reigned seuenteene yere in Ierusalem, the citie which the Lord did chuse out of al the tribes of Israel, to put his Name there: and his mothers name was Naamah an Ammonite.
Roboam, hijo de Salomón, reinó en Judá. Tenía cuarenta y un años cuando llegó a ser rey, y reinó diecisiete años en Jerusalén, la ciudad que el Señor había elegido de entre todas las tribus de Israel, donde sería honrado. El nombre de su madre era Noamá la amonita.
22 And Iudah wrought wickednesse in the sight of the Lord: and they prouoked him more with their sinnes, which they had committed, then all that which their fathers had done.
Judá hizo el mal ante los ojos del Señor, y por los pecados que cometieron hicieron que su ferviente ira fuera aún mayor que la de todos sus padres.
23 For they also made them hie places, and images, and groues on euery hie hill, and vnder euery greene tree.
También se erigieron altares, pilares sagrados y postes de Asera en toda colina alta y bajo todo árbol verde.
24 There were also Sodomites in the lande, they did according to all the abominations of the nations, which the Lord had cast out before the children of Israel.
Incluso había prostitutas de culto en la tierra. Siguieron todas las prácticas repugnantes de las naciones que el Señor había expulsado ante los israelitas.
25 And in the fift yere of King Rehoboam, Shishak King of Egypt came vp against Ierusale,
En el quinto año del reinado de Roboam, Sisac, rey de Egipto, atacó Jerusalén.
26 And tooke the treasures of the house of the Lord, and the treasures of the Kings house, and tooke away all: also he caried away all the shields of golde which Salomon had made.
Tomó los tesoros del Templo del Señor y del palacio real. Se llevó todo, incluyendo todos los escudos de oro que Salomón había hecho.
27 And King Rehoboam made for them brasen shieldes, and committed them vnto ye hands of the chiefe of the garde, which wayted at the doore of the Kings house.
Entonces el rey Roboam hizo escudos de bronce para reemplazarlos y se los entregó a los capitanes de la guardia para que los cuidaran. Ellos estaban de guardia a la entrada del palacio real.
28 And when the King went into the house of the Lord, the garde bare them, and brought them againe into the gard chamber.
Cada vez que el rey iba al Templo del Señor, los guardias llevaban los escudos. Después los devolvían a la sala de guardia.
29 And the rest of the actes of Rehoboam, and all that hee did, are they not written in the booke of the Chronicles of the Kings of Iudah?
El resto de lo que sucedió en el reinado de Roboam y todo lo que hizo están registrados en el Libro de las Crónicas de los Reyes de Judá.
30 And there was warre betweene Rehoboam and Ieroboam continually.
Roboam y Jeroboam estuvieron siempre en guerra entre sí.
31 And Rehoboam slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the citie of Dauid: his mothers name was Naamah an Ammonite. And Abiiam his sonne reigned in his stead.
Entonces Roboam murió y fue enterrado con sus antepasados en la Ciudad de David. El nombre de su madre era Noamá la amonita. Y su hijo Abías le sucedió como rey.
