1 Kings 14

1 At that time Abiiah the sonne of Ieroboam fell sicke.

Pada waktu itu anak laki-laki Yerobeam yang bernama Abia jatuh sakit.

2 And Ieroboam saide vnto his wife, Vp, I pray thee, and disguise thy selfe, that they know not that thou art the wife of Ieroboam, and goe to Shiloh: for there is Ahiiah the Prophet, which tolde mee that I shoulde bee King ouer this people,

Berkatalah Yerobeam kepada istrinya, "Bersiap-siaplah untuk pergi ke Silo ke rumah Nabi Ahia yang dahulu mengatakan bahwa saya akan menjadi raja Israel. Tetapi menyamarlah supaya orang tidak tahu siapa engkau.

3 And take with thee tenne loaues and craknels, and a bottell of honie, and go to him: hee shall tell thee what shall become of the yong man.

Bawalah untuk dia sepuluh roti, sedikit kue dan madu sebotol. Tanyalah kepadanya apa yang akan terjadi dengan Abia, anak kita. Nabi itu akan memberitahukannya kepadamu."

4 And Ieroboams wife did so, and arose, and went to Shiloh, and came to the house of Ahiiah: but Ahiiah could not see, for his sight was decayed for his age.

Maka pergilah istri Yerobeam ke rumah Nabi Ahia di Silo. Nabi itu tidak bisa melihat lagi karena ia sudah tua sekali.

5 Then the Lord saide vnto Ahiiah, Beholde, the wife of Ieroboam commeth to aske a thing of thee for her sonne, for he is sicke: thus and thus shalt thou say vnto her: for when shee commeth in, shee shall feine her selfe to be another.

Tetapi TUHAN memberitahukan kepadanya bahwa istri Yerobeam sedang datang untuk menanyakan tentang anaknya yang sakit. Dan TUHAN juga memberitahukan kepada Nabi Ahia apa yang harus dikatakannya nanti. Ketika istri Yerobeam tiba di sana, ia berbuat seolah-olah ia orang lain.

6 Therefore when Ahiiah heard the sounde of her feete as shee came in at the doore, hee saide, Come in, thou wife of Ieroboam: why feinest thou thus thy selfe to bee an other? I am sent to thee with heauie tidings.

Tetapi begitu Nabi Ahia mendengar bunyi langkahnya di pintu, ia berkata, "Mari masuk, saya tahu engkau istri Yerobeam. Tak usah berpura-pura. Ada berita buruk untukmu.

7 Goe, tel Ieroboam, Thus saith the Lord God of Israel, Forasmuch as I haue exalted thee from among the people, and haue made thee prince ouer my people Israel,

Pulanglah dan beritahukan kepada Yerobeam bahwa inilah yang dikatakan TUHAN, Allah Israel, 'Engkau telah Kupilih dari antara rakyat dan Kujadikan penguasa atas umat-Ku Israel.

8 And haue rent the kingdome away from the house of Dauid, and haue giuen it thee, and thou hast not bene as my seruant Dauid, which kept my commandements, and followed mee with all his heart, and did onely that which was right in mine eyes,

Engkau telah Kuberikan kerajaan yang Kurenggut dari keturunan Daud. Tetapi engkau tidak seperti hamba-Ku Daud. Ia setia betul kepada-Ku dan taat kepada perintah-Ku. Ia melakukan hanya yang Kusetujui.

9 But hast done euil aboue al that were before thee (for thou hast gone and made thee other gods, and molten images, to prouoke me, and hast cast me behinde thy backe)

Tetapi engkau melakukan kejahatan yang lebih besar daripada yang dilakukan oleh mereka yang memerintah sebelum engkau. Engkau meninggalkan Aku dan membangkitkan amarah-Ku dengan membuat berhala serta patung-patung dari logam untuk disembah.

10 Therefore beholde, I will bring euill vpon the house of Ieroboam, and will cut off from Ieroboam him that pisseth against the wall, aswell him that is shut vp, as him that is left in Israel, and will sweepe away the remnant of the house of Ieroboam, as a man sweepeth away doung, till it be all gone.

Karena itu Aku akan mendatangkan celaka ke atas keluargamu. Semua keturunanmu yang laki-laki, apa pun kedudukannya, akan dibunuh. Aku akan melenyapkan keluargamu, sama seperti orang menyapu bersih kotoran.

11 The dogges shall eate him of Ieroboams stocke that dyeth in the citie, and the foules of the aire shall eate him that dyeth in the fielde: for the Lord hath said it.

Anggota keluargamu yang mati di kota akan dimakan anjing, dan yang mati di luar kota akan dimakan burung. Ingat, Akulah TUHAN yang berbicara!'"

12 Vp therefore and get thee to thine house: for when thy feete enter into the citie, the childe shall die.

Selanjutnya Nabi Ahia berkata kepada istri Yerobeam, "Nah, pulanglah sekarang! Pada saat engkau memasuki kota, anakmu itu akan meninggal.

13 And al Israel shall mourne for him, and burie him: for he onely of Ieroboam shall come to the graue, because in him there is found some goodnes towarde the Lord God of Israel in the house of Ieroboam.

Seluruh rakyat Israel akan berkabung dan menguburkannya. Dialah satu-satunya anggota keluarga Yerobeam yang akan dikubur secara terhormat, sebab hanya dia yang berkenan di hati TUHAN, Allah Israel.

14 Moreouer, the Lord shall stirre him vp a King ouer Israel, which shall destroy the house of Ieroboam in that day: what? yea, euen nowe.

Israel akan diberi TUHAN seorang raja yang akan mengakhiri kedudukan keturunan Yerobeam sebagai raja. Harinya sudah tiba! Mulai sekarang

15 For the Lord shall smite Israel, as when a reede is shaken in the water, and hee shall weede Israel out of his good lad, which he gaue to their fathers, and shall scatter them beyond the Riuer, because they haue made them groues, prouoking the Lord to anger.

TUHAN akan menghukum Israel sehingga tergoyang-goyang seperti gelagah di dalam air. TUHAN akan mencabut rakyat Israel dari negeri yang baik ini yang diberikan-Nya kepada leluhur mereka. Ia akan menceraiberaikan mereka ke seberang Sungai Efrat, karena mereka telah membangkitkan kemarahan-Nya dengan membuat patung-patung dewi Asyera.

16 And he shall giue Israel vp, because of the sinnes of Ieroboam, who did sinne, and made Israel to sinne.

TUHAN akan meninggalkan Israel karena Yerobeam telah berdosa dan menyebabkan orang Israel pun berdosa juga."

17 And Ieroboams wife arose, and departed, and came to Tirzah, and when shee came to the threshold of the house, the yong man dyed,

Setelah itu berangkatlah istri Yerobeam ke Tirza. Pada saat ia masuk ke rumahnya, anaknya meninggal.

18 And they buried him, and all Israel lamented him; according to the word of the Lord, which hee spake by the hand of his seruant Ahiiah the Prophet.

Rakyat Israel berkabung lalu menguburkannya seperti yang telah dikatakan TUHAN melalui Nabi Ahia, hamba-Nya.

19 And the rest of Ieroboams actes, how hee warred, and howe hee reigned, beholde, they are written in the booke of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel.

Kisah lainnya mengenai Raja Yerobeam, yaitu pemerintahannya dan peperangan yang dipimpinnya, sudah dicatat dalam buku Sejarah Raja-raja Israel.

20 And the dayes which Ieroboam reigned, were two and twentie yeere: and he slept with his fathers, and Nadab his sonne reigned in his steade.

Dua puluh dua tahun lamanya Yerobeam memerintah sebagai raja, kemudian ia meninggal dan dikubur. Anaknya yang bernama Nadab menggantikan dia sebagai raja.

21 Also Rehoboam the sonne of Salomon reigned in Iudah. Rehoboam was one and fourtie yere olde, when he began to reigne, and reigned seuenteene yere in Ierusalem, the citie which the Lord did chuse out of al the tribes of Israel, to put his Name there: and his mothers name was Naamah an Ammonite.

Ketika Rehabeam, anak Salomo, menjadi raja Yehuda, ia berumur empat puluh satu tahun. Ia memerintah tujuh belas tahun lamanya di Yerusalem. Dari seluruh Israel kota itu telah dikhususkan TUHAN sebagai tempat ibadat kepada-Nya. Ibu Rehabeam ialah Naama dari bangsa Amon.

22 And Iudah wrought wickednesse in the sight of the Lord: and they prouoked him more with their sinnes, which they had committed, then all that which their fathers had done.

Bangsa Yehuda melakukan yang jahat pada pemandangan TUHAN. Perbuatan mereka lebih membangkitkan kemarahan TUHAN daripada segala perbuatan leluhur mereka.

23 For they also made them hie places, and images, and groues on euery hie hill, and vnder euery greene tree.

Di atas bukit-bukit dan di bawah pohon-pohon besar, mereka membangun tempat-tempat penyembahan berhala, dan mendirikan tugu-tugu serta patung-patung dewi Asyera untuk disembah.

24 There were also Sodomites in the lande, they did according to all the abominations of the nations, which the Lord had cast out before the children of Israel.

Di tempat-tempat itu mereka mengadakan pelacuran sebagai penyembahan kepada dewa. Bahkan laki-laki pun bertugas sebagai pelacur. Orang Yehuda melakukan semua perbuatan keji yang dilakukan oleh bangsa-bangsa yang telah diusir TUHAN pada waktu orang Israel memasuki negeri itu.

25 And in the fift yere of King Rehoboam, Shishak King of Egypt came vp against Ierusale,

Pada tahun kelima pemerintahan Rehabeam, Sisak, raja Mesir menyerang Yerusalem.

26 And tooke the treasures of the house of the Lord, and the treasures of the Kings house, and tooke away all: also he caried away all the shields of golde which Salomon had made.

Ia merampas semua barang berharga yang terdapat di Rumah TUHAN dan di istana raja, juga perisai-perisai emas yang dibuat oleh Salomo.

27 And King Rehoboam made for them brasen shieldes, and committed them vnto ye hands of the chiefe of the garde, which wayted at the doore of the Kings house.

Maka sebagai gantinya Raja Rehabeam membuat perisai-perisai perunggu, dan mempercayakannya kepada para perwira yang mengawal pintu gerbang istana raja.

28 And when the King went into the house of the Lord, the garde bare them, and brought them againe into the gard chamber.

Setiap kali raja ke Rumah TUHAN, para pengawal membawa perisai-perisai itu, kemudian mengembalikannya ke kamar jaga.

29 And the rest of the actes of Rehoboam, and all that hee did, are they not written in the booke of the Chronicles of the Kings of Iudah?

Kisah lainnya mengenai Raja Rehabeam sudah dicatat dalam buku Sejarah Raja-raja Yehuda.

30 And there was warre betweene Rehoboam and Ieroboam continually.

Semasa pemerintahan Rehabeam, selalu ada perang antara Rehabeam dan Yerobeam.

31 And Rehoboam slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the citie of Dauid: his mothers name was Naamah an Ammonite. And Abiiam his sonne reigned in his stead.

Kemudian Rehabeam meninggal dan dikubur di makam raja-raja di Kota Daud. Abiam, putranya, menggantikan dia sebagai raja.
