1 Kings 13
1 And beholde, there came a man of God out of Iudah (by the commandement of the Lord) vnto Beth-el, and Ieroboam stoode by the altar to offer incense.
Eis que um homem de Deus saiu de Judá pela palavra de Javé a Betel; e Jeroboão estava junto ao altar para queimar incenso.
2 And he cryed against the altar by the comandement of the Lord, and said, O altar, altar, thus saith the Lord, Beholde, a child shalbe borne vnto the house of Dauid, Iosiah by name, and vpon thee shall he sacrifice the Priestes of the hie places that burne incense vpon thee, and they shall burne mens bones vpon thee.
Ele gritou contra o altar pela palavra de Iavé, e disse: “Altar! Altar! Javé diz: “Eis que um filho nascerá na casa de Davi, Josias pelo nome”. Em ti ele sacrificará os sacerdotes dos altos que queimam incenso em ti, e eles queimarão os ossos dos homens em ti””.
3 And he gaue a signe the same time, saying, This is the signe, that the Lord hath spoken, Behold, the altar shall rent, and the ashes that are vpon it, shall fall out.
Ele deu um sinal no mesmo dia, dizendo: “Este é o sinal que Javé falou”: Eis que o altar será dividido, e as cinzas que estão sobre ele serão derramadas”.
4 And when the King had heard the saying of the man of God, which he had cryed against the altar in Beth-el, Ieroboam stretched out his hand from the altar, saying, Lay holde on him: but his hande which he put foorth against him, dryed vp, and he could not pull it in againe to him.
Quando o rei ouviu o ditado do homem de Deus, que gritou contra o altar em Betel, Jeroboão estendeu a mão do altar, dizendo: “Prendam-no! Sua mão, que ele estendeu contra ele, secou, para que ele não pudesse atraí-la de volta para si mesmo.
5 The altar also claue asunder, and the ashes fell out from the altar, according to the signe, which the man of God had giuen by the commandement of the Lord.
O altar também foi dividido, e as cinzas derramadas do altar, de acordo com o sinal que o homem de Deus havia dado pela palavra de Javé.
6 Then the King answered, and saide vnto the man of God, I beseeche thee, pray vnto ye Lord thy God, and make intercession for me, that mine hand may bee restored vnto me. And the man of God besought the Lord, and the Kings hand was restored, and became as it was afore.
O rei respondeu ao homem de Deus: “Agora intercede pelo favor de Javé, teu Deus, e reza por mim, para que minha mão me seja restaurada novamente”. O homem de Deus intercedeu junto a Iavé, e a mão do rei foi restaurada a ele, e tornou-se como antes.
7 Then the King sayde vnto the man of God, Come home with mee, that thou mayest dyne, and I will giue thee a reward.
O rei disse ao homem de Deus: “Vem para casa comigo e refresca-te, e eu te darei uma recompensa”.
8 But the man of God saide vnto the King, If thou wouldest giue me halfe thine house, I would not goe in with thee, neither woulde I eate bread nor drinke water in this place.
O homem de Deus disse ao rei: “Mesmo que você me desse metade de sua casa, eu não entraria com você, nem comeria pão nem beberia água neste lugar;
9 For so was it charged mee by the worde of the Lord, saying, Eate no bread nor drinke water, nor turne againe by the same way that thou camest.
pois assim me foi ordenado pela palavra de Javé, dizendo: 'Você não comerá pão, não beberá água, e não voltará pelo caminho por onde veio'”.
10 So he went another way and returned not by the way that he came to Beth-el.
Então ele foi por outro caminho, e não voltou pelo caminho que veio para Betel.
11 And an olde Prophet dwelt in Beth-el, and his sonnes came and tolde him all ye woorkes, that the man of God had done that day in Beth-el, and the wordes which he had spoken vnto the King, tolde they their father.
Agora um velho profeta vivia em Betel, e um de seus filhos veio e lhe contou todas as obras que o homem de Deus havia feito naquele dia em Betel. Eles também contaram a seu pai as palavras que ele havia falado ao rei.
12 And their father sayde vnto them, What way went he? and his sonnes shewed him what waye the man of God went, which came from Iudah.
O pai deles lhes disse: “Para que lado ele foi?” Agora seus filhos tinham visto para que lado foi o homem de Deus, que veio de Judá.
13 And hee saide vnto his sonnes, Saddle mee the asse. Who sadled him the asse, and hee rode thereon,
Ele disse a seus filhos: “Sela o burro para mim”. Então eles selaram o jumento para ele; e ele montou sobre ele.
14 And went after the man of God, and found him sitting vnder an oke: and he saide vnto him, Art thou the man of God that camest from Iudah? And he sayd, Yea.
Ele foi atrás do homem de Deus, e o encontrou sentado debaixo de um carvalho. Ele lhe disse: “Você é o homem de Deus que veio de Judá?”. Ele disse: “Eu sou”.
15 Then he said vnto him, Come home with me, and eate bread.
Então ele lhe disse: “Venha para casa comigo e coma pão”.
16 But he answered, I may not returne with thee, nor go in with thee, neither wil I eate bread nor drinke water with thee in this place.
Ele disse: “Eu não posso voltar com você, nem entrar com você”. Não comerei pão nem beberei água com você neste lugar”.
17 For it was charged me by the word of the Lord, saying, Thou shalt eate no bread, nor drinke water there, nor turne againe to goe by the way that thou wentest.
Pois foi-me dito pela palavra de Javé: “Lá não comerás pão nem beberás água, e não voltes a ir pelo caminho por onde vieste””.
18 And he said vnto him, I am a Prophet also as thou art, and an Angel spake vnto me by the worde of the Lord, saying, Bring him againe with thee into thine house, that hee may eate bread and drinke water: but he lyed vnto him.
Ele lhe disse: “Eu também sou um profeta como você é; e um anjo me falou pela palavra de Javé, dizendo: 'Traga-o de volta com você para sua casa, para que ele possa comer pão e beber água'”. Ele mentiu para ele.
19 So he went againe with him, and did eate bread in his house, and dranke water.
Então ele voltou com ele, comeu pão em sua casa, e bebeu água.
20 And as they sate at the table, the worde of the Lord came vnto the Prophet, that brought him againe.
Enquanto estavam sentados à mesa, a palavra de Javé chegou ao profeta que o trouxe de volta;
21 And hee cried vnto the man of God that came from Iudah, saying, Thus sayeth the Lord, Because thou hast disobeyed the mouth of the Lord, and hast not kept the commandement which the Lord thy God commanded thee,
e ele gritou ao homem de Deus que veio de Judá, dizendo: “Javé diz: 'Porque foste desobediente à palavra de Javé, e não guardaste o mandamento que Javé teu Deus te ordenou,
22 But camest backe againe, and hast eaten bread and drunke water in the place (whereof he did say vnto thee, Thou shalt eate no bread nor drinke any water) thy carkeis shall not come vnto the sepulchre of thy fathers.
mas voltaste, e comeste pão e bebeste água no lugar de que ele te disse: “Não comas pão e não bebas água”, teu corpo não virá ao túmulo de teus pais.’”
23 And when he had eaten bread and drunke, he sadled him the asse, to wit, to the Prophet whome he had brought againe.
Depois de ter comido pão e bebido, ele selou o burro para o profeta que ele havia trazido de volta.
24 And when hee was gone, a lion met him by the way, and slewe him, and his body was cast in the way, and the asse stoode thereby: the lion stood by the corps also.
Quando ele se foi, um leão o encontrou por acaso e o matou. Seu corpo foi jogado no caminho e o burro ficou ao lado dele. O leão também permaneceu ao lado do corpo.
25 And beholde, men that passed by, sawe the carkeis cast in the way, and the lion standing by the corps: and they came and tolde it in ye towne where the olde Prophet dwelt.
Eis que os homens passaram e viram o corpo jogado no caminho, e o leão parado ao lado do corpo; e vieram e o contaram na cidade onde o velho profeta vivia.
26 And when the Prophet that brought him backe againe from the waye, hearde thereof, hee sayde, It is the man of God, who hath bene disobedient vnto the commandement of the Lord: therefore the Lord hath deliuered him vnto the lion, which hath rent him and slayne him, according to the worde of the Lord, which hee spake vnto him.
Quando o profeta que o trouxe de volta do caminho ouviu falar disso, ele disse: “É o homem de Deus que foi desobediente à palavra de Javé. Portanto, Javé o entregou ao leão, que o maltratou e o matou, segundo a palavra de Javé que ele lhe falou”.
27 And he spake to his sonnes, saying, Saddle me the asse. And they sadled him.
Ele disse a seus filhos, dizendo: “Sela o burro para mim”, e eles o selaram.
28 And he went and founde his body cast in the way, and the asse and the lion stoode by the corps: and the lion had not eaten the bodie, nor torne the asse.
Ele foi e encontrou seu corpo jogado no caminho, e o burro e o leão de pé junto ao corpo. O leão não tinha comido o corpo nem maltratado o burro.
29 And the Prophet tooke vp the body of the man of God, and layed it vpon the asse, and brought it againe, and the olde Prophet came to the citie, to lament and burie him.
O profeta pegou o corpo do homem de Deus, colocou-o sobre o burro e o trouxe de volta. Ele veio à cidade do velho profeta para chorar, e para enterrá-lo.
30 And hee layed his bodie in his owne graue, and they lamented ouer him, saying, Alas, my brother.
Ele deitou seu corpo em sua própria sepultura; e eles o lamentaram, dizendo: “Ai de mim, meu irmão”!
31 And when he had buried him, hee spake to his sonnes, saying, When I am dead, burie ye mee also in the sepulchre, wherein the man of God is buried: lay my bones beside his bones.
Depois de tê-lo enterrado, ele falou com seus filhos, dizendo: “Quando eu estiver morto, enterrem-me no túmulo onde está enterrado o homem de Deus”. Colocar meus ossos ao lado de seus ossos”.
32 For that thing which he cried by the word of the Lord against the altar that is in Beth-el, and against all the houses of the hie places, which are in the cities of Samaria, shall surely come to passe.
Pois o ditado que ele gritou pela palavra de Javé contra o altar em Betel, e contra todas as casas dos altos que estão nas cidades de Samaria, certamente acontecerá”.
33 Howbeit after this, Ieroboam conuerted not from his wicked way, but turned againe, and made of the lowest of the people Priests of the hie places. Who would, might consecrate him selfe, and be of the Priestes of the hie places.
Depois disso, Jeroboam não se desviou de seu caminho maléfico, mas novamente fez sacerdotes dos lugares altos entre todo o povo. Quem quisesse, ele o consagrou, para que houvesse sacerdotes dos altos escalões.
34 And this thing turned to sinne vnto the house of Ieroboam, euen to roote it out, and destroy it from the face of the earth.
Esta coisa se tornou pecado para a casa de Jeroboão, mesmo para cortá-lo e destruí-lo da superfície da terra.
