1 Kings 12
1 And Rehoboam went to Shechem: for al Israel were come to Sheche, to make him king
ರೆಹಬ್ಬಾಮನು ಶೆಕೆಮಿಗೆ ಹೋದನು; ಅವನನ್ನು ಅರಸನಾಗಿ ಮಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಸಮಸ್ತ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರು ಶೆಕೆಮಿಗೆ ಬಂದರು.
2 And whe Ieroboam ye sonne of Nebat heard of it (who was yet in Egypt, whither Ieroboam had fled from king Salomon, and dwelt in Egypt)
ಅರಸನಾದ ಸೊಲೊಮೋನನ ಸಮ್ಮುಖದಿಂದ ಓಡಿಹೋಗಿ ಈಜಿಪ್ಟಿನಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸವಾಗಿದ್ದ ನೆಬಾಟನ ಮಗ ಯಾರೊಬ್ಬಾಮನು ಇದನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದಾಗ, ಅವನು ಈಜಿಪ್ಟಿನಿಂದ ತಿರುಗಿಬಂದನು.
3 Then they sent and called him: and Ieroboam and all the Congregation of Israel came, and spake vnto Rehoboam, saying,
ಆಗ ಯಾರೊಬ್ಬಾಮನೂ ಸಮಸ್ತ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರೂ ರೆಹಬ್ಬಾಮನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದು, ಅವನ ಸಂಗಡ ಮಾತನಾಡಿ,
4 Thy father made our yoke grieuous: now therefore make thou the grieuous seruitude of thy father, and his sore yoke which he put vpon vs, lighter, and we will serue thee.
“ನಿನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯು ನಮ್ಮ ನೊಗವನ್ನು ಭಾರವಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಿದನು. ಈಗ ನೀನು ನಿನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯ ಕಠಿಣವಾದ ಸೇವೆಯನ್ನೂ, ಅವನು ನಮ್ಮ ಮೇಲೆ ಹಾಕಿದ ಅವನ ಭಾರವಾದ ನೊಗವನ್ನೂ ಹಗುರಮಾಡಿದರೆ, ನಾವು ನಿನಗೆ ಸೇವೆಮಾಡುತ್ತೇವೆ,” ಎಂದರು.
5 And he said vnto them, Depart yet for three dayes, then come againe to me. And the people departed.
ಅವನು ಅವರಿಗೆ, “ನೀವು ಹೋಗಿ ಮೂರು ದಿವಸಗಳಾದ ತರುವಾಯ ತಿರುಗಿ ನನ್ನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬನ್ನಿರಿ,” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಜನರು ಹೊರಟು ಹೋದರು.
6 And King Rehoboam tooke counsell with the olde men that had stande before Salomon his father, while he yet liued, and sayde, What counsell giue ye, that I may make an answere to this people?
ಆಗ ಅರಸನಾದ ರೆಹಬ್ಬಾಮನು ತನ್ನ ತಂದೆ ಸೊಲೊಮೋನನು ಬದುಕಿರುವಾಗ ಮಂತ್ರಿಗಳಾಗಿದ್ದ ಹಿರಿಯರನ್ನು ಕೂಡಿಸಿ ಅವರಿಗೆ, “ನಾನು ಈ ಜನರಿಗೆ ಪ್ರತ್ಯುತ್ತರವನ್ನು ಕೊಡಲು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಆಲೋಚನೆಯೇನು?” ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಿದನು.
7 And they spake vnto him, saying, If thou be a seruant vnto this people this day, and serue them, and answere them, and speake kinde wordes to them, they will be thy seruants for euer.
ಅವರು ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ನೀನು ಇಂದು ಈ ಜನರಿಗೆ ಸೇವಕನಾಗಿ ಅವರನ್ನು ಸೇವಿಸಿ, ಒಳ್ಳೆಯ ಮಾತುಗಳಿಂದ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಉತ್ತರವನ್ನು ಕೊಡು, ಆಗ ಅವರು ನಿರಂತರವಾಗಿ ನಿನ್ನ ಸೇವಕರಾಗಿರುವರು,” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.
8 But he forsooke the counsell that the olde men had giuen him, and asked counsell of the yong men that had bene brought vp with him, and waited on him.
ಆದರೆ ರೆಹಬ್ಬಾಮನು, ಹಿರಿಯರು ತನಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದ ಆಲೋಚನೆಯನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು, ತನ್ನ ಸಂಗಡ ಬೆಳೆದು ತನ್ನ ಮುಂದೆ ನಿಂತಿರುವ ಯೌವನಸ್ಥರ ಆಲೋಚನೆಯನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿ,
9 And he said vnto them, What counsell giue ye, that we may answere this people, which haue spoken to me, saying, Make the yoke, which thy father did put vpon vs, lighter?
ಅವನು ಅವರಿಗೆ, “ನಿನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯು ನಮ್ಮ ಮೇಲೆ ಹಾಕಿದ ನೊಗವನ್ನು ಹಗುರ ಮಾಡೆಂದು ನನಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದ ಈ ಜನರಿಗೆ ಉತ್ತರ ಕೊಡಲು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಆಲೋಚನೆ ಏನು?” ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಿದನು.
10 Then the yong men that were brought vp with him, spake vnto him, saying, Thus shalt thou say vnto this people, that haue spoken vnto thee, and said, Thy father hath made our yoke heauie, but make thou it lighter vnto vs: euen thus shalt thou say vnto them, My least part shalbe bigger then my fathers loynes.
ಆಗ ಅವನ ಸಂಗಡ ಬೆಳೆದ ಯೌವನಸ್ಥರು ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ನಿನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯು ನಮ್ಮ ನೊಗವನ್ನು ಭಾರಮಾಡಿದನು. ಆದರೆ ನೀನು ಅದನ್ನು ನಮಗೆ ಹಗುರ ಮಾಡೆಂದು ನಿನ್ನ ಸಂಗಡ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದ ಈ ಜನರಿಗೆ, ‘ನನ್ನ ಕಿರುಬೆರಳು ನನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯ ನಡುವಿಗಿಂತ ದಪ್ಪವಾಗಿರುವುದು.
11 Now where as my father did burden you with a grieuous yoke, I will yet make your yoke heauier: my father hath chastised you with rods, but I will correct you with scourges.
ನನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮೇಲೆ ಭಾರವಾದ ನೊಗವನ್ನು ಹೊರಿಸಿದನು. ಆದರೆ ನಾನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ನೊಗವನ್ನು ಇನ್ನೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಭಾರವಾಗಿ ಮಾಡುವೆನು. ನನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯು ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಬಾರುಕೋಲುಗಳಿಂದ ಹೊಡೆದದ್ದು ನಿಜ, ನಾನಾದರೋ ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಚೇಳು ಕೊರಡೆಗಳಿಂದ ಶಿಕ್ಷಿಸುವೆನು,’ ಎಂದು ನೀನು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಹೇಳು,” ಎಂದರು.
12 Then Ieroboam and all the people came to Rehoboam the third day, as the king had appointed, saying, Come to me againe ye thirde day.
ಆಗ, “ಮೂರನೆಯ ದಿವಸದಲ್ಲಿ ನನ್ನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬನ್ನಿರಿ,” ಎಂದು ಅರಸನು ಹೇಳಿದ ಪ್ರಕಾರ, ಮೂರನೆಯ ದಿವಸದಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾರೊಬ್ಬಾಮನೂ, ಸಮಸ್ತ ಜನರೂ ಅರಸನಾದ ರೆಹಬ್ಬಾಮನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದರು.
13 And the king answered the people sharpely, and left the old mens counsell that they gaue him,
ಆದರೆ ಅರಸನು ಜನರಿಗೆ ಕಠಿಣವಾದ ಉತ್ತರವನ್ನು ಕೊಟ್ಟು, ಹಿರಿಯರು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟ ಆಲೋಚನೆಯನ್ನು ನಿರಾಕರಿಸಿ,
14 And spake to them after the counsell of the yong men, saying, My father made your yoke grieuous, and I will make your yoke more grieuous: my father hath chastised you with rods, but I will correct you with scourges.
ಯುವಕರ ಆಲೋಚನೆಯ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಅವರ ಸಂಗಡ ಮಾತನಾಡಿ ಅವರಿಗೆ, “ನನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯು ನಿಮ್ಮ ನೊಗವನ್ನು ಭಾರವಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಿದನು. ನಾನು ಅದನ್ನು ಇನ್ನೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಭಾರ ಮಾಡುತ್ತೇನೆ. ನನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯು ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಬಾರುಕೋಲುಗಳಿಂದ ಶಿಕ್ಷಿಸಿದನು. ಆದರೆ ನಾನು ಮುಳ್ಳು ಕೊರಡೆಗಳಿಂದ ಶಿಕ್ಷಿಸುವೆನು,” ಎಂದನು.
15 And the King hearkened not vnto the people: for it was the ordinance of the Lord, that he might perfourme his saying, which the Lord had spoken by Ahiiah the Shilonite vnto Ieroboam the sonne of Nebat.
ಅರಸನು ಜನರ ಮಾತನ್ನು ಕೇಳದೆಹೋದದ್ದು ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರಿಂದಲೇ. ಹೀಗೆ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಶೀಲೋವಿನವನಾದ ಅಹೀಯನ ಮುಖಾಂತರವಾಗಿ ನೆಬಾಟನ ಮಗನಾದ ಯಾರೊಬ್ಬಾಮನಿಗೆ ಹೇಳಿಸಿದ ಮಾತು ಈಡೇರುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಕಾರಣವಾಯಿತು.
16 So when all Israel sawe that the King regarded them not, the people answered the King thus, saying, What portion haue we in Dauid? we haue none inheritance in the sonne of Ishai. To your tents, O Israel: nowe see to thine owne house, Dauid. So Israel departed vnto their tents.
ಅರಸನು ಅವರ ಮಾತನ್ನು ಕೇಳದೆ ಹೋದನೆಂದು ಸಮಸ್ತ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರು ತಿಳಿದಾಗ, ಜನರು ಅರಸನಿಗೆ ಉತ್ತರವಾಗಿ, “ದಾವೀದನಲ್ಲಿ ನಮಗೆ ಭಾಗವೇನು? ಇಷಯನ ಮಗನಲ್ಲಿ ನಮಗೆ ಬಾಧ್ಯತೆ ಏನು? ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರೇ, ನಿಮ್ಮ ಡೇರೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಿರಿ. ದಾವೀದನೇ, ಈಗ ನಿನ್ನ ಕುಟುಂಬವನ್ನು ನೀನೇ ನೋಡಿಕೋ,” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿ, ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರು ತಮ್ಮ ತಮ್ಮ ಡೇರೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಹೋದರು.
17 Howbeit ouer the children of Israel, which dwelt in the cities of Iudah, did Rehoboam reigne still.
ಆದರೆ ಯೆಹೂದದ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸವಾಗಿರುವ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ಮೇಲೆ ರೆಹಬ್ಬಾಮನು ಆಳಿದನು.
18 Nowe the King Rehoboam sent Adoram the receiuer of the tribute, and all Israel stoned him to death: then King Rehoboam made speede to get him vp to his charet, to flee to Ierusalem.
ಆಗ ರೆಹಬ್ಬಾಮನು ದಾಸರ ಮೇಲ್ವಿಚಾರಕನಾದ ಅದೋನೀರಾಮನನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದನು. ಆದರೆ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರೆಲ್ಲರು ಅವನ ಮೇಲೆ ಕಲ್ಲೆಸೆದು ಕೊಂದುಹಾಕಿದರು. ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಅರಸನಾದ ರೆಹಬ್ಬಾಮನು ಆತುರಪಟ್ಟು ತನ್ನ ರಥವನ್ನೇರಿ ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿಗೆ ಓಡಿಹೋದನು.
19 And Israel rebelled against the house of Dauid vnto this day.
ಹೀಗೆ ಇಂದಿನವರೆಗೂ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರು ದಾವೀದನ ಕುಟುಂಬದವರೊಡನೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ತಿರುಗಿಬೀಳುತ್ತಲೇ ಇದ್ದಾರೆ.
20 And when all Israel had heard that Ieroboam was come againe, they sent and called him vnto the assemblie, and made him King ouer all Israel: none followed the house of Dauid, but the tribe of Iudah onely.
ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರು ಯಾರೊಬ್ಬಾಮನು ತಿರುಗಿ ಬಂದಿದ್ದಾನೆಂದು ಕೇಳಿದಾಗ, ಅವರು ಸಭೆಗೆ ಅವನನ್ನು ಕರೆಕಳುಹಿಸಿ, ಸಮಸ್ತ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಮೇಲೆ ಅವನನ್ನು ಅರಸನನ್ನಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಿದರು. ಯೆಹೂದನ ಗೋತ್ರ ಹೊರತಾಗಿ ದಾವೀದನ ಮನೆಯನ್ನು ಹಿಂಬಾಲಿಸುವವರು ಯಾರೂ ಇರಲಿಲ್ಲ.
21 And when Rehoboam was come to Ierusalem, he gathered all the house of Iudah with the tribe of Beniamin an hundreth and foure score thousand of chosen men (which were good warriours) to fight against the house of Israel, and to bring the kingdome againe to Rehoboam the sonne of Salomon.
ಸೊಲೊಮೋನನ ಮಗನಾದ ರೆಹಬ್ಬಾಮನು ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿಗೆ ಬಂದ ತರುವಾಯ, ರಾಜ್ಯವನ್ನು ತಿರುಗಿ ಪಡೆಯುವ ಹಾಗೆ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಯುದ್ಧಮಾಡಲು ಬೆನ್ಯಾಮೀನನ ಗೋತ್ರದ ಮತ್ತು ಯೆಹೂದನ ಸಮಸ್ತ ಕುಟುಂಬಗಳಿಂದ 1,80,000 ಸಮರ್ಥ ಸೈನಿಕರನ್ನು ಆಯ್ದುಕೊಂಡು ಒಟ್ಟುಗೂಡಿಸಿದನು.
22 But the worde of God came vnto Shemaiah the man of God, saying,
ಆದರೆ ದೇವರ ವಾಕ್ಯವು ದೇವರ ಮನುಷ್ಯನಾಗಿರುವ ಶೆಮಾಯನಿಗೆ ಉಂಟಾಗಿ,
23 Speake vnto Rehoboam the sonne of Salomon King of Iudah, and vnto all the house of Iudah and Beniamin, and the remnant of the people, saying,
“ನೀನು ಯೆಹೂದದ ಅರಸನಾದ ಸೊಲೊಮೋನನ ಮಗನಾಗಿರುವ ರೆಹಬ್ಬಾಮನಿಗೂ, ಯೆಹೂದ ಬೆನ್ಯಾಮೀನನ ಸಮಸ್ತ ಮನೆಯವರಿಗೂ ಮತ್ತು ಮಿಕ್ಕಿದ ಜನರಿಗೂ ಹೇಳಬೇಕಾದದ್ದೇನೆಂದರೆ,
24 Thus saith the Lord, Ye shall not go vp, nor fight against your brethren the children of Israel: returne euery man to his house: for this thing is done by me. They obeyed therefore the worde of the Lord and returned, and departed, according to the worde of the Lord.
‘ನೀವು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರಾಗಿರುವ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಸಹೋದರರಿಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಯುದ್ಧಮಾಡಲು ಹೋಗಬೇಡಿರಿ. ಪ್ರತಿ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ತನ್ನ ಮನೆಗೆ ಹಿಂದಿರುಗಲಿ.’ ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯವು ತಮ್ಮಿಂದ ಉಂಟಾಯಿತೆಂದು ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾರೆ,” ಎಂದನು. ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಅವರು ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ವಾಕ್ಯವನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿ, ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ವಾಕ್ಯದ ಪ್ರಕಾರವೇ ಹಿಂದಿರುಗಿ ಹೋದರು.
25 Then Ieroboam built Shechem in mount Ephraim, and dwelt therein, and went from thence, and built Penuel.
ಯಾರೊಬ್ಬಾಮನು ಎಫ್ರಾಯೀಮನ ಬೆಟ್ಟದಲ್ಲಿ ಶೆಕೆಮ್ ಪಟ್ಟಣವನ್ನು ಭದ್ರಪಡಿಸಿ, ಅದರಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸಿಸಿದನು. ಅಲ್ಲಿಂದ ಹೊರಟುಹೋಗಿ ಪೆನೀಯೇಲ್ ಪಟ್ಟಣವನ್ನು ಭದ್ರಪಡಿಸಿದನು.
26 And Ieroboam thought in his heart, Nowe shall the kingdome returne to the house of Dauid.
ಆದರೆ ಯಾರೊಬ್ಬಾಮನು ತನ್ನ ಮನಸ್ಸಿನಲ್ಲಿ, “ಈಗ ರಾಜ್ಯವು ದಾವೀದನ ಮನೆಯವರಿಗೆ ಹಿಂದಿರುಗುವುದು ಏನೋ,
27 If this people goe vp and doe sacrifice in the house of the Lord at Ierusalem, then shall the heart of this people turne againe vnto their lorde, euen to Rehoboam King of Iudah: so shall they kill me and goe againe to Rehoboam King of Iudah.
ಈ ಜನರು ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಮಂದಿರಕ್ಕೆ ಬಲಿ ಅರ್ಪಿಸಲು ಹೋದರೆ, ಆಗ ಇವರ ಹೃದಯವು ಯೆಹೂದದ ಅರಸನಾದ ರೆಹಬ್ಬಾಮನ ಕಡೆಗೆ ಮತ್ತೆ ತಿರುಗುವುದು. ಅವರು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಕೊಂದುಹಾಕಿ, ಯೆಹೂದದ ಅರಸನಾದ ರೆಹಬ್ಬಾಮನ ಕಡೆಗೆ ತಿರುಗಿ ಹೋದಾರು,” ಎಂದುಕೊಂಡನು.
28 Whereupon the King tooke counsell, and made two calues of golde, and saide vnto them, It is too much for you to goe vp to Ierusalem: beholde, O Israel, thy gods, which brought thee vp out of the lande of Egypt.
ಅರಸನು ತನ್ನ ಸಲಹೆಗಾರರನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿ, ಎರಡು ಬಂಗಾರದ ಕರುಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿಸಿ ಜನರಿಗೆ, “ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನವರೆಗೂ ಜಾತ್ರೆಗೆ ಹೋಗುವುದು ನಿಮಗೆ ಕಷ್ಟವಾಗಿದೆ. ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರೇ, ಇಗೋ ಈಜಿಪ್ಟಿನಿಂದ ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಬರಮಾಡಿದ ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇವರುಗಳು,” ಎಂದನು.
29 And he set the one in Beth-el, and the other set he in Dan.
ಒಂದನ್ನು ಬೇತೇಲಿನಲ್ಲಿಯೂ, ಒಂದನ್ನು ದಾನಿನಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಸ್ಥಾಪಿಸಿದನು.
30 And this thing turned to sinne: for the people went (because of the one) euen to Dan.
ಇದು ಪಾಪಕ್ಕೆ ಕಾರಣವಾಯಿತು. ದಾನಿನಲ್ಲಿರುವುದನ್ನು ಪೂಜಿಸಲು ಜನರು ಅಲ್ಲಿಯವರೆಗೆ ಹೋಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು.
31 Also he made an house of hie places, and made Priestes of the lowest of the people, which were not of the sonnes of Leui.
ಅವನು ಉನ್ನತ ಸ್ಥಳಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಪೂಜಾಸ್ಥಳಗಳನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟಿಸಿ, ಲೇವಿಯರಲ್ಲದ ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯ ಜನರನ್ನು ಯಾಜಕರನ್ನಾಗಿ ನೇಮಿಸಿದನು.
32 And Ieroboam made a feast the fifteenth day of the eight moneth, like vnto the feast that is in Iudah, and offred on the altar. So did he in Beth-el and offered vnto the calues that he had made: and he placed in Beth-el the Priestes of the hie places, which he had made.
ಯಾರೊಬ್ಬಾಮನು ಎಂಟನೆಯ ತಿಂಗಳ ಹದಿನೈದನೆಯ ದಿವಸದಲ್ಲಿ ಯೆಹೂದದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಹಬ್ಬದ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಹಬ್ಬವನ್ನು ನೇಮಿಸಿ, ಪೀಠದ ಮೇಲೆ ಬಲಿಗಳನ್ನು ಅರ್ಪಿಸಿದನು. ಈ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಅವನು ಬೇತೇಲಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾಡಿ, ಅವನು ರೂಪಿಸಿದ ಕರುಗಳ ವಿಗ್ರಹಗಳಿಗೆ ಬಲಿಗಳನ್ನು ಅರ್ಪಿಸಲು ಬೇತೇಲಿನಲ್ಲಿ ತಾನು ನೇಮಿಸಿದ ಉನ್ನತ ಸ್ಥಳಗಳ ಯಾಜಕರನ್ನೇ ಇರಿಸಿದನು.
33 And he offered vpon the altar, which he had made in Beth-el, the fifteenth day of the eight moneth, (euen in the moneth which he had forged of his owne heart) and made a solemne feast vnto the children of Israel: and he went vp to the altar, to burne incense.
ಹೀಗೆ ಅವನು ತನ್ನ ಸ್ವಂತ ಹೃದಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಯೋಚಿಸಿದ ತಿಂಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಎಂಟನೆಯ ತಿಂಗಳ ಹದಿನೈದನೆಯ ದಿವಸದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವನು ಬೇತೇಲಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಕಟ್ಟಿಸಿದ ಪೀಠದ ಮೇಲೆ ಬಲಿಗಳನ್ನರ್ಪಿಸಿ, ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರಿಗೆ ಹಬ್ಬವನ್ನು ನೇಮಿಸಿದನು. ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ತಾನೇ ಪೀಠದ ಮೇಲೆ ಬಲಿಗಳನ್ನರ್ಪಿಸಿ ಧೂಪವನ್ನು ಸುಟ್ಟನು.
