1 Kings 11
1 Bvt King Salomon loued many outlandish women: both the daughter of Pharaoh, and the women of Moab, Ammon, Edom, Zidon and Heth,
El rey Salomón amó a muchas mujeres extranjeras, junto con la hija del faraón: mujeres moabitas, amonitas, edomitas, sidonianas e hititas,
2 Of the nations, whereof the Lord had sayd vnto the children of Israel, Goe not ye in to them, nor let them come in to you: for surely they will turne your hearts after their gods, to them, I say, did Salomon ioyne in loue.
de las naciones sobre las que Yahvé dijo a los hijos de Israel: “No iréis entre ellas, ni ellas vendrán entre vosotros, porque ciertamente desviarán vuestro corazón tras sus dioses.” Salomón se unió a ellas por amor.
3 And he had seuen hundreth wiues, that were princesses, and three hundreth concubines, and his wiues turned away his heart.
Tuvo setecientas esposas, princesas y trescientas concubinas. Sus esposas desviaron su corazón.
4 For when Salomon was olde, his wiues turned his heart after other gods, so that his heart was not perfect with the Lord his God, as was the heart of Dauid his father.
Cuando Salomón envejeció, sus esposas desviaron su corazón en pos de otros dioses, y su corazón no era perfecto con Yahvé, su Dios, como lo era el corazón de David, su padre.
5 For Salomon followed Ashtaroth the god of the Zidonians, and Milcom the abomination of the Ammonites.
Porque Salomón siguió a Astoret, diosa de los sidonios, y a Milcom, la abominación de los amonitas.
6 So Salomon wrought wickednesse in the sight of the Lord, but continued not to follow the Lord, as did Dauid his father.
Salomón hizo lo que era malo a los ojos de Yahvé, y no siguió plenamente a Yahvé, como lo hizo su padre David.
7 Then did Salomon build an hie place for Chemosh the abomination of Moab, in the mountaine that is ouer against Ierusalem, and vnto Molech the abomination of the children of Ammon.
Entonces Salomón edificó un lugar alto para Quemos, la abominación de Moab, en el monte que está frente a Jerusalén, y para Moloc, la abominación de los hijos de Amón.
8 And so did he for all his outlandish wiues, which burnt incense and offered vnto their gods.
Así hizo para todas sus mujeres extranjeras, que quemaban incienso y sacrificaban a sus dioses.
9 Therefore the Lord was angry with Salomon, because hee had turned his heart from the Lord God of Israel, which had appeared vnto him twise,
Yahvé se enojó con Salomón, porque su corazón se apartó de Yahvé, el Dios de Israel, que se le había aparecido dos veces,
10 And had giuen him a charge concerning this thing, that he should not follow other gods: but he kept not that, which the Lord had commanded him.
y le había ordenado respecto a esto, que no fuera en pos de otros dioses; pero él no cumplió lo que Yahvé le había ordenado.
11 Wherefore the Lord sayd vnto Salomon, Forasmuch as this is done of thee, and thou hast not kept my couenant, and my statutes (which I commanded thee) I will surely rent the kingdome from thee, and will giue it to thy seruant.
Por lo tanto, Yahvé dijo a Salomón: “Por cuanto has hecho esto, y no has guardado mi pacto y mis estatutos que te he ordenado, ciertamente te arrancaré el reino y se lo daré a tu siervo.
12 Notwithstanding in thy dayes I will not doe it, because of Dauid thy father, but I will rent it out of the hand of thy sonne:
Sin embargo, no lo haré en tus días, por amor a David tu padre, sino que lo arrancaré de la mano de tu hijo.
13 Howbeit I wil not rent all the Kingdome, but will giue one tribe to thy sonne, because of Dauid my seruant, and because of Ierusalem which I haue chosen.
Sin embargo, no arrancaré todo el reino, sino que daré una tribu a tu hijo, por amor a David, mi siervo, y por amor a Jerusalén, que yo he elegido.”
14 Then the Lord stirred vp an aduersarie vnto Salomon, euen Hadad the Edomite, of the Kings seede, which was in Edom.
El Señor le levantó un adversario a Salomón: Hadad el edomita. Era uno de los descendientes del rey en Edom.
15 For when Dauid was in Edom, and Ioab the captaine of the hoste had smitten all the males in Edom, and was gone vp to bury ye slaine,
Porque cuando David estaba en Edom, y Joab, el capitán del ejército, había subido a enterrar a los muertos y había matado a todos los varones de Edom
16 (For six moneths did Ioab remaine there, and all Israel, till he had destroyed all the males in Edom)
(pues Joab y todo Israel permanecieron allí seis meses, hasta que hubo matado a todos los varones de Edom),
17 Then this Hadad fled and certaine other Edomites of his fathers seruants with him, to goe into Egypt, Hadad being yet a litle childe.
Hadad huyó, él y algunos edomitas de los siervos de su padre con él, para ir a Egipto, cuando Hadad era todavía un niño.
18 And they arose out of Midian, and came to Paran, and tooke men with them out of Paran, and came to Egypt vnto Pharaoh King of Egypt, which gaue him an house, and appointed him vitailes, and gaue him lande.
Se levantaron de Madián y llegaron a Parán; tomaron hombres con ellos de Parán y llegaron a Egipto, al Faraón, rey de Egipto, quien le dio una casa, le asignó alimentos y le dio tierras.
19 So Hadad found great fauour in the sight of Pharaoh, and he gaue him to wife the sister of his owne wife, euen the sister of Tahpenes the Queene.
Hadad halló gran favor a los ojos del faraón, de modo que le dio como esposa a la hermana de su propia esposa, la hermana de la reina Tahpenes.
20 And the sister of Tahpenes bare him Genubath his sonne, whome Tahpenes wayned in Pharaohs house: and Genubath was in Pharaohs house among the sonnes of Pharaoh.
La hermana de Tahpenes le dio a luz a su hijo Genubat, a quien Tahpenes destetó en la casa del faraón; y Genubat estaba en la casa del faraón entre los hijos del faraón.
21 And when Hadad heard in Egypt, that Dauid slept with his fathers, and that Ioab the captaine of the hoste was dead, Hadad sayde to Pharaoh, Let me depart, that I may goe to mine owne countrey.
Cuando Hadad oyó en Egipto que David dormía con sus padres y que Joab, el capitán del ejército, había muerto, dijo a Faraón: “Déjame ir a mi país.”
22 But Pharaoh saide vnto him, What hast thou lacked with me, that thou wouldest thus go to thine owne countrey? And he answered, Nothing, but in any wise let me goe.
Entonces el Faraón le dijo: “¿Pero qué te ha faltado a ti conmigo, que buscas ir a tu país?” Él respondió: “Nada, sin embargo, sólo déjame partir”.
23 And God stirred him vp another aduersarie, Rezon the sonne of Eliada, which fled from his lorde Hadadezer King of Zobah.
Dios le levantó un adversario, Rezón hijo de Eliada, que había huido de su señor, Hadadézer, rey de Soba.
24 And he gathered men vnto him, and had bene captaine ouer the company, when Dauid slew them. And they went to Damascus, and dwelt there, and they made him King in Damascus.
Él reunió hombres para sí, y llegó a ser capitán de una tropa, cuando David los mató de Soba. Se fue a Damasco y vivió allí, y reinó en Damasco.
25 Therefore was he an aduersarie to Israel all the daies of Salomon: besides the euil that Hadad did, he also abhorred Israel, and reigned ouer Aram
Fue un adversario de Israel durante todos los días de Salomón, además de la maldad de Hadad. Aborreció a Israel y reinó sobre Siria.
26 And Ieroboam the sonne of Nebat an Ephrathite of Zereda Salomons seruant (whose mother was called Zeruah a widowe) lift vp his hand against the King.
Jeroboam hijo de Nabat, efraimita de Zereda, siervo de Salomón, cuya madre se llamaba Zerúa, viuda, también levantó su mano contra el rey.
27 And this was the cause that he lift vp his hande against the King, When Salomon built Millo, he repared the broken places of the citie of Dauid his father.
Esta fue la razón por la que levantó su mano contra el rey: Salomón edificó Millo y reparó la brecha de la ciudad de su padre David.
28 And this man Ieroboam was a man of strength and courage, and Salomon seeing that the yong man was meete for the worke, he made him ouerseer of all the labour of the house of Ioseph.
Aquel hombre, Jeroboam, era un hombre de gran valor, y Salomón vio que el joven era laborioso, y lo puso a cargo de todo el trabajo de la casa de José.
29 And at that time, when Ieroboam went out of Ierusalem, the Prophet Ahiiah the Shilonite founde him in the way, hauing a newe garment on him, and they two were alone in ye field.
En aquel tiempo, cuando Jeroboam salió de Jerusalén, el profeta Ahías, el silonita, lo encontró en el camino. Ajías se había vestido con un traje nuevo, y los dos estaban solos en el campo.
30 Then Ahiiah caught the newe garment that was on him, and rent it in twelue pieces,
Ajías tomó el vestido nuevo que llevaba puesto y lo rompió en doce pedazos.
31 And said to Ieroboam, Take vnto thee ten pieces: for thus saith the Lord God of Israel, Beholde, I wil rent the kingdome out of ye hands of Salomon, and will giue ten tribes to thee.
Le dijo a Jeroboam: “Toma diez pedazos porque Yahvé, el Dios de Israel, dice: ‘He aquí que yo arranco el reino de la mano de Salomón y te daré diez tribus
32 But he shall haue one tribe for my seruant Dauids sake, and for Ierusalem the citie, which I haue chosen out of all the tribes of Israel,
(pero él tendrá una tribu, por amor a mi siervo David y por amor a Jerusalén, la ciudad que he elegido de entre todas las tribus de Israel),
33 Because they haue forsaken me, and haue worshipped Ashtaroth the god of the Zidonians, and Chemosh the god of the Moabites, and Milcom the god of the Ammonites, and haue not walked in my wayes (to do right in mine eyes, and my statutes, and my lawes) as did Dauid his father.
porque me han abandonado y han adorado a Astoret, diosa de los sidonios, a Quemos, dios de Moab, y a Milcom, dios de los hijos de Amón. No han andado en mis caminos, para hacer lo que es recto a mis ojos, y para guardar mis estatutos y mis ordenanzas, como hizo David su padre.
34 But I will not take the whole kingdome out of his hande: for I will make him prince all his life long for Dauid my seruants sake, whome I haue chosen, and who kept my commandements and my statutes.
“‘Sin embargo, no quitaré todo el reino de su mano, sino que lo haré príncipe todos los días de su vida por amor a David, mi siervo, a quien elegí, quien guardó mis mandamientos y mis estatutos,
35 But I will take the kingdome out of his sonnes hand, and will giue it vnto thee, euen the ten tribes.
pero quitaré el reino de la mano de su hijo y te lo daré a ti, diez tribus.
36 And vnto his sonne will I giue one tribe, that Dauid my seruant may haue a light alway before me in Ierusalem the citie, which I haue chosen me, to put my Name there.
Le daré una tribu a su hijo, para que mi siervo David tenga siempre una lámpara delante de mí en Jerusalén, la ciudad que he elegido para poner mi nombre en ella.
37 And I wil take thee, and thou shalt reigne, euen as thine heart desireth, and shalt be King ouer Israel.
Yo te tomaré a ti, y tú reinarás según todo lo que tu alma desee, y serás rey sobre Israel.
38 And if thou hearken vnto all that I commande thee, and wilt walke in my wayes, and doe right in my sight, to keepe my statutes and my commandements, as Dauid my seruant did, then will I be with thee, and build thee a sure house, as I built vnto Dauid, and wil giue Israel vnto thee.
Si escuchas todo lo que te mando, y andas en mis caminos, y haces lo que es recto a mis ojos, guardando mis estatutos y mis mandamientos, como lo hizo mi siervo David, yo estaré contigo, y te edificaré una casa segura, como la que edifiqué para David, y te entregaré a Israel.
39 And I will for this afflict the seede of Dauid, but not for euer.
Por esto afligiré a la descendencia de David, pero no para siempre’”.
40 Salomon sought therefore to kill Ieroboam, and Ieroboam arose, and fled into Egypt vnto Shishak King of Egypt, and was in Egypt vntil the death of Salomon.
Por eso Salomón trató de matar a Jeroboam, pero éste se levantó y huyó a Egipto, a Sisac, rey de Egipto, y estuvo en Egipto hasta la muerte de Salomón.
41 And the rest of the wordes of Salomon, and all that he did, and his wisedom, are they not written in the booke of the actes of Salomon?
Los demás hechos de Salomón, y todo lo que hizo, y su sabiduría, ¿no están escritos en el libro de los hechos de Salomón?
42 The time that Salomon reigned in Ierusalem ouer all Israel, was fourtie yeere.
El tiempo que Salomón reinó en Jerusalén sobre todo Israel fue de cuarenta años.
43 And Salomon slept with his fathers and was buried in the citie of Dauid his father: and Rehoboam his sonne reigned in his steade.
Salomón durmió con sus padres, y fue enterrado en la ciudad de su padre David; y reinó en su lugar Roboam, su hijo.
