1 John 4
1 Dearely beloued, beleeue not euery spirit, but trie the spirits whether they are of God: for many false prophets are gone out into this worlde.
Amados, no crean a todo espíritu, sino prueben los espíritus, si son de Dios, porque muchos falsos profetas salieron al mundo.
2 Hereby shall ye know the Spirit of God, Euery spirit which confesseth that Iesus Christ is come in the flesh, is of God.
En esto conocen el Espíritu de Dios: Todo espíritu que confiesa que Jesucristo vino en cuerpo humano es de Dios,
3 And euery spirit that confesseth not that Iesus Christ is come in the flesh, is not of God: but this is the spirit of Antichrist, of whome ye haue heard, how that he should come, and nowe already he is in this world.
y todo espíritu que no confiesa a Jesús no es de Dios. Éste es el del anticristo, del que escucharon que viene y ahora ya está en el mundo.
4 Litle children, ye are of God, and haue ouercome them: for greater is he that is in you, then he that is in this world.
Hijitos, ustedes son de Dios, y lo vencieron, porque mayor es el que está en ustedes que el que está en el mundo.
5 They are of this worlde, therefore speake they of this world, and this world heareth them.
Ellos son del mundo. Por eso hablan del mundo, y el mundo los escucha.
6 We are of God, he that knoweth God, heareth vs: he that is not of God, heareth vs not. Heereby knowe wee the spirit of trueth, and the spirit of errour.
Nosotros somos de Dios. El que conoce a Dios, nos escucha. El que no es de Dios, no nos escucha. Por esto conocemos el espíritu de la verdad y el espíritu del error.
7 Beloued, let vs loue one another: for loue commeth of God, and euery one that loueth, is borne of God, and knoweth God.
Amados, amémonos unos a otros, porque el amor procede de Dios. Todo el que ama, nació de Dios y conoce a Dios.
8 Hee that loueth not, knoweth not God: for God is loue.
El que no ama, no conoce a Dios, porque Dios es amor.
9 Herein was that loue of God made manifest amongst vs, because God sent that his onely begotten sonne into this world, that we might liue through him.
En esto se manifestó el amor de Dios en nosotros: En que Dios envió a su Hijo unigénito al mundo, para que vivamos por medio de Él.
10 Herein is that loue, not that we loued God, but that he loued vs, and sent his Sonne to be a reconciliation for our sinnes.
En esto está el amor: No en que nosotros amamos a Dios, sino en que Él nos amó y envió a su Hijo como ofrenda por nuestros pecados.
11 Beloued, if God so loued vs, we ought also to loue one another.
Amados, si así Dios nos amó, también nosotros tenemos que amarnos unos a otros.
12 No man hath seene God at any time. If we loue one another, God dwelleth in vs, and his loue is perfect in vs.
Nadie vio jamás a Dios. Cuando nos amemos unos a otros, Dios permanece en nosotros, y su amor es perfeccionado en nosotros.
13 Hereby know we, that we dwell in him, and he in vs: because he hath giuen vs of his Spirit.
En esto sabemos que permanecemos en Él y Él en nosotros: en que nos dio de su Espíritu.
14 And we haue seene, and doe testifie, that the Father sent that Sonne to be ye Sauiour of the world.
Nosotros vimos y testificamos que el Padre envió al Hijo como Salvador del mundo.
15 Whosoeuer confesseth that Iesus is the Sone of God, in him dwelleth God, and he in God.
Cualquiera que confiese que Jesús es el Hijo de Dios, Dios permanece en él, y él en Dios.
16 And we haue knowen, and beleeued ye loue that God hath in vs. God is loue, and he that dwelleth in loue, dwelleth in God, and God in him.
Nosotros conocemos y creemos el amor que Dios tiene en nosotros. Dios es amor, y el que permanece en el amor, permanece en Dios, y Dios permanece en él.
17 Herein is that loue perfect in vs, that we should haue boldnes in the day of iudgement: for as he is, euen so are we in this world.
En esto el amor fue perfeccionado entre nosotros, para que tengamos confianza en el día del juicio: que como Él es, así somos nosotros en este mundo.
18 There is no feare in loue, but perfect loue casteth out feare: for feare hath painefulnesse: and he that feareth, is not perfect in loue.
En el amor no hay temor, porque el perfecto amor echa fuera el temor, pues el temor incluye castigo. El que teme no ha sido perfeccionado en el amor.
19 We loue him, because he loued vs first.
Nosotros amamos, porque Él nos amó primero.
20 If any man say, I loue God, and hate his brother, he is a liar: for how can he that loueth not his brother whom he hath seene, loue God whom he hath not seene?
Si alguno dice: Amo a Dios, y aborrece a su hermano, es un mentiroso, porque el que no ama a su hermano, a quien ha visto, no puede amar a Dios, a Quien no ha visto.
21 And this commandement haue we of him, that he that loueth God, should loue his brother also.
Este Mandamiento tenemos de parte de Él: el que ama a Dios, ame también a su hermano.
