1 Corinthians 8
1 And as touching things sacrificed vnto idols, wee knowe that wee all haue knowledge: knowledge puffeth vp, but loue edifieth.
౧ఇప్పుడిక గ్రహాలకు బలి అర్పించిన వాటి విషయం: మనమంతా తెలివైన వారమే అని మనకి తెలుసు. తెలివి మిడిసిపడేలా చేస్తుంది గాని ప్రేమ క్షేమాభివృద్ధిని కలిగిస్తుంది.
2 Nowe, if any man thinke that hee knoweth any thing, hee knoweth nothing yet as hee ought to knowe.
౨ఎవరైనా తనకు ఏదైనా తెలుసు అని భావిస్తే, అతడు గ్రహించ వలసిందేమంటే తాను తెలుసుకోవలసినంత ఇంకా తెలుసుకోలేదు అని.
3 But if any man loue God, the same is knowen of him.
౩ఎవరైనా దేవుణ్ణి ప్రేమిస్తూ ఉంటే దేవునికి అతడు తెలుసన్నమాట.
4 Concerning therefore the eating of things sacrificed vnto idoles, we knowe that an idole is nothing in the worlde, and that there is none other God but one.
౪అందుచేత విగ్రహాలకు అర్పించిన వాటిని తినే విషయానికి వస్తే, ఈ లోకంలో విగ్రహం అనేది వట్టిది అని మనకు తెలుసు. ఒకే ఒక దేవుడు తప్ప వేరొక దేవుడు లేడని మనకు తెలుసు.
5 For though there bee that are called gods, whether in heauen, or in earth (as there be many gods, and many lords)
౫దేవుళ్ళు, ప్రభువులు అని అందరూ పిలిచే వాళ్ళు చాలామంది ఉన్నారు. ఆకాశంలో, భూమి మీదా దేవుళ్ళనే వారు ఎంతమంది ఉన్నప్పటికీ,
6 Yet vnto vs there is but one God, which is that Father, of whome are all things, and we in him: and one Lord Iesus Christ, by whome are all things, and we by him.
౬మనకైతే ఒకే దేవుడున్నాడు. ఆయన తండ్రి అయిన దేవుడు. ఆయన నుండి సమస్తమూ కలిగింది. ఆయన కోసమే మనమున్నాం. అలాగే మనకు ప్రభువు ఒక్కడే ఉన్నాడు. ఆయన యేసు క్రీస్తు. ఆయన ద్వారా అన్నీ కలిగాయి. మనం కూడా ఆయన ద్వారానే ఉనికి కలిగి ఉన్నాం.
7 But euery man hath not that knowledge: for many hauing conscience of the idole, vntill this houre, eate as a thing sacrificed vnto the idole, and so their conscience being weake, is defiled.
౭అయితే ఈ తెలివి అందరికీ లేదు. కొందరు ఇంతకు ముందు విగ్రహాలను ఆరాధించే వారు కాబట్టి తాము తినే పదార్ధాలు విగ్రహార్పితాలని భావించి తింటారు. వారి మనస్సాక్షి బలహీనం కావడం వలన అది వారికి అపరాధం అవుతుంది.
8 But meate maketh not vs acceptable to God, for neither if we eate, haue we the more: neither if we eate not, haue we the lesse.
౮భోజనం విషయంలో మనకు దేవుని నుండి ఏమీ మెప్పు కలగదు. మనం దేనినైనా తినకపోవడం వలన మనం తక్కువ వారం కాదు, తినడం వలన ఎక్కువ వారం కాదు.
9 But take heede lest by any meanes this power of yours be an occasion of falling, to them that are weake.
౯అయితే మీకున్న ఈ స్వేచ్ఛ విశ్వాసంలో బలహీనులైన వారికి అభ్యంతర కారణం కాకుండా చూసుకోండి.
10 For if any man see thee which hast knowledge, sit at table in the idoles temple, shall not the conscience of him which is weake, be boldened to eate those things which are sacrificed to idoles?
౧౦ఎలా అంటే, సత్యం గురించిన అవగాహన కలిగిన నీవు విగ్రహాలు నిలిపి ఉన్న స్థలంలో తింటూ ఉండగా బలహీనమైన మనస్సాక్షి గలవాడు చూస్తే, అతడు విగ్రహాలకు అర్పించిన పదార్ధాలను తినడానికి ధైర్యం తెచ్చుకుంటాడు కదా?
11 And through thy knowledge shall the weake brother perish, for whome Christ died.
౧౧తద్వారా ఎవరి కోసం క్రీస్తు చనిపోయాడో విశ్వాసంలో బలహీనుడైన ఆ నీ సోదరుడు లేక సోదరి నీ తెలివి వలన పాడైపోతాడు.
12 Nowe when ye sinne so against the brethren, and wound their weake conscience, ye sinne against Christ.
౧౨ఈ విధంగా మీరు మీ సోదరులకు వ్యతిరేకంగా పాపం చేయడం ద్వారా, విశ్వాసంలో బలహీనమైన వారి మనస్సాక్షిని నొప్పించడం ద్వారా, మీరు క్రీస్తుకు వ్యతిరేకంగా పాపం చేస్తున్నారు.
