< 1 Corinthians 14 >
1 Followe after loue, and couet spirituall giftes, and rather that ye may prophecie.
Itna nung zui tavun, taciang thaa tel te dei vun, ahihang tuate sang in mailamthu pualak tu dei zaw vun.
2 For hee that speaketh a strange tongue, speaketh not vnto men, but vnto God: for no man heareth him: howbeit in the spirit he speaketh secret things.
Banghangziam cile kam tuam apau te sia mihing tung ah hi ngawl a, Pathian tung ah a pau a hihi: banghangziam cile kuama in a he bua hi; ahihang thaa in thuku te a pau a hihi.
3 But he that prophecieth, speaketh vnto me to edifying, and to exhortation, and to comfort.
Ahihang mailamthu a pualak peuma in mihing te tung ah khantona, thapiakna le henepna thu te son hi.
4 He that speaketh strange language, edifieth himselfe: but hee that prophecieth, edifieth the Church.
Kam tuam in a pau sia in ama le ama ki khangtosak hi; ahihang mailamthu a pualak peuma in pawlpi khangtosak hi.
5 I would that ye all spake strange languages, but rather that ye prophecied: for greater is hee that prophecieth, then hee that speaketh diuers tongues, except hee expound it, that the Church may receiue edification.
Note theampo in kam tuam na pau tu uh ka dei hi, ahihang mailamthu na pualak tu uh ka dei zaw lai hi: banghangziam cile mailamthu a pualak te kam tuam pau te sang in thupi zaw hi, kam tuam pau te zong kamphen a om ciang bek in pawlpi khangtosak tu hi.
6 And nowe, brethren, if I come vnto you speaking diuers tongues, what shall I profite you, except I speake to you, either by reuelation, or by knowledge, or by prophecying, or by doctrine?
Tu in suapui te awng, kam tuam pau in note kung ah kong pai hang in, thu pualakna, heakna, mailamthu pualakna le hilna taw thu ka hil bua ahile, note atu in bang ka phatuam tu ziam?
7 Moreouer things without life which giue a sounde, whether it be a pipe or an harpe, except they make a distinction in the soundes, how shall it be knowen what is piped or harped?
Taciang nuntakna nei ngawl a nging thei van, tamngai le tengtong te na ngawn, a ngin dan aw tatuam a ki tumdang bale, bangbang in tamngai le tengtong kitum sia kua in bang aw ci tel thei tu ziam?
8 And also if the trumpet giue an vncertaine sound, who shall prepare himselfe to battell?
Banghangziam cile lemle a kitel vaset ngawl in a tum le kua in ngalsim tu in ki nging tu ziam?
9 So likewise you, by the tongue, except yee vtter wordes that haue signification, howe shall it be vnderstand what is spoken? for ye shall speake in the ayre.
Tasia bangma in na lei taw na pauna uh sia a ki tel kammal na pau bua uh le, na son uh thu bangbang in ki tel thei tu ziam? Banghangziam cile note sia huisung ah a son na hi tu uh hi.
10 There are so many kindes of voyces (as it commeth to passe) in the world, and none of them is dumme.
Leitung ah kam nam tam mama om tu hi, taciang a khiakna nei ngawl khat zong om ngawl hi.
11 Except I know then the power of ye voyce, I shall be vnto him that speaketh a barbarian, and he that speaketh, shalbe a barbarian vnto me.
Tua ahikom a kam i khiakna ka he bua le, tua a pau sia i tung ah keima sia mimawl pa thuson taw ka kibang tu hi, taciang a pau sia zong keima tung ah mimawl pa bang hi tu hi.
12 Euen so, forasmuch as ye couet spirituall giftes, seeke that ye may excell vnto the edifying of the Church.
Tabang ahikom in note thaa i tel thu ah na thalawp mama uh bangma in, pawlpi sia nasiatak in na khantosak natu uh tel te zong tavun.
13 Wherefore, let him that speaketh a strange tongue, pray, that he may interprete.
Tua ahikom kam tuam a pau peuma in kamphen a thiam thei natu in thungen tahen.
14 For if I pray in a strange togue, my spirit prayeth: but mine vnderstading is without fruite.
Banghangziam cile kam tuam in thu ka ngen ahile ka thaa in thungen hi, ahihang ka heaktheina atu in bangma zong phatuam ngawl hi.
15 What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, but I wil pray with the vnderstanding also: I wil sing with the spirite, but I will sing with the vnderstanding also.
Tabang ahile bang ziam? thaa taw thu ka ngen tu a, heaktheina taw zong thu ka ngen tu hi: thaa taw ka sa tu a, taciang heaktheina taw zong la ka sa tu hi.
16 Else, when thou blessest with the spirit, howe shall hee that occupieth the roome of the vnlearned, say Amen, at thy giuing of thankes, seeing he knoweth not what thou sayest?
Na thaa taw thupha na piak ciang in, a inndoi sung ah a om sinna nei ngawl pa in na son thu he ngawl ahikom, bangbang in na lungdamko na sia Amen ci thei tu zia?
17 For thou verely giuest thankes well, but the other is not edified.
Banghangziam cile nangma in phatak in lungdam na ko hi, ahihang ngualdang khangtosak ngawl hi.
18 I thanke my God, I speake languages more then ye all.
Kam tuam taw note theampo sang in a tam zaw ka pau hu in ka Pathian ka pok hi:
19 Yet had I rather in the Church to speake fiue wordes with mine vnderstanding, that I might also instruct others, then ten thousande wordes in a strange tongue.
Ahihang pawlpi sung ah ngualdang te ka kam taw hil tu in kam tuam taw kam tul sawm sang in, ka heak kam taw kam nga ka pau zaw tu hi.
20 Brethren, be not children in vnderstanding, but as concerning maliciousnes be children, but in vnderstanding be of a ripe age.
Suapui te awng, heakna sang ah patang hi heak vun: ahihang phatngawlna sang ah nausen hi tavun, ahihang heakna sang ah pasal na hi tavun.
21 In the Lawe it is written, By men of other tongues, and by other languages will I speake vnto this people: yet so shall they not heare me, sayth the Lord.
Thukham sung ah hibang in ki atkhol hi, hi minam te kung ah kam tuam a pau mihing te muk taw thu ka hil tu hi; ahihang amate in hong ngai nuam batu hi, ci in Topa in ci hi.
22 Wherefore strange tongues are for a signe, not to them that beleeue, but to them that beleeue not: but prophecying serueth not for them that beleeue not, but for them which beleeue.
Tua ahikom, kam tuam te sia thu um ngawl te atu in musakna hi a, a um te atu hi ngawl hi: ahihang mailamthu pualakna sia thu um ngawl te atu hi ngawl a, a um te atu a hihi.
23 If therefore when the whole Church is come together in one, and all speake strange tongues, there come in they that are vnlearned, or they which beleeue not, will they not say, that ye are out of your wittes?
Tua ahikom pawlpi bup ki kaikhop ciang in, na vekpi in kam tuam taw na pau uh a, sinna nei ngawl te, a hibale, a um ngawl te zong hongpai ahile, amate in, thin-am te, hong ci tu hi ngawl ziam?
24 But if all prophecie, and there come in one that beleeueth not, or one vnlearned, hee is rebuked of all men, and is iudged of all,
Ahihang note theampo in mailamthu na pualak uh a, thu um ngawl, a hibale, sinna nei ngawl te hong tum ahile, note in a mawna ki phawksak a, thu na khen uh hi:
25 And so are the secrets of his heart made manifest, and so he will fall downe on his face and worship God, and say plainely that God is in you in deede.
Taciang a thinsung ah thuku te kilang tu a; bok in Pathian bia tu uh hi, taciang note sung ah Pathian om takpi hi, ci tu uh hi.
26 What is to be done then, brethren? when ye come together, according as euery one of you hath a Psalme, or hath doctrine, or hath a tongue, or hath reuelation, or hath interpretation, let all things be done vnto edifying.
27 If any man speake a strange tongue, let it be by two, or at the most, by three, and that by course, and let one interprete.
Mi khatpo in kam tuam taw thu a hil le, mihing ni, a hibale a tambel thum, khat zawkciang khat in kamphen tahen.
28 But if there be no interpreter, let him keepe silence in the Church, which speaketh languages, and let him speake to himselfe, and to God.
Ahihang kamphen a om bale, pawlpi sung ah om khipkhep tahen; taciang ama le ama Pathian tung ah pau tahen.
29 Let the Prophets speake two, or three, and let the other iudge.
Kamsang te sia ni, a hibale thum in thu son tahen, taciang a dang te in thukhen tahen.
30 And if any thing be reueiled to another that sitteth by, let the first holde his peace.
A to khat i tung ah bang khatpo a ki pholak le, amasabel pa sia om khipkhep tahen.
31 For ye may all prophecie one by one, that all may learne, and all may haue comfort.
Banghangziam cile na vekpi in khat zawkciang khat mailamthu pualak a, na vekpi in sin in, henepna na nga tu uh hi.
32 And the spirits of the Prophets are subiect to the Prophets.
Taciang kamsang te i thaa te sia kamsang te in uk hi.
33 For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as we see in all ye Churches of the Saints.
Banghangziam cile Pathian sia buai bialbual na i kipatna hi ngawl hi, ahihang mithiangtho te pawlpi theampo ah kilemna a om bang in Ama sia kilemna i Pathian a hihi.
34 Let your women keepe silence in the Churches: for it is not permitted vnto them to speake: but they ought to be subiect, as also the Lawe sayth.
Pawlpi theampo sung ah numei te om khipkhep tahen: banghangziam cile thupiak a om bang in, amate sia thuhil tu oai ngawl a; thu zui tu in thu a kipia te a hihi.
35 And if they will learne any thing, let them aske their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speake in the Church.
Numei te in thu khatpo a sin nuam ahile, inn ah a pasal te dong ta hen: banghangziam cile biakinn sung ah numei te thuhil sia maizumhuai hi.
36 Came the worde of God out from you? either came it vnto you onely?
Bangziam? Pathian thu sia na sung uh pan in pusuak ziam? a hibale note tung bek ah hong theng ziam?
37 If any man thinke him selfe to be a Prophet, or spirituall, let him acknowledge, that the things, that I write vnto you, are the commandements of the Lord.
Mi khatpo in ama le ama kamsang bang in, a hibale, thaa mi bang in a ki ngaisun le, note kung ah kong at Topa thupiakna te thukimpui na nei tahen.
38 And if any man be ignorant, let him be ignorant.
Ahihang mi khatpo in a thusim bale, ama zong ki thusim ba tahen.
39 Wherefore, brethren, couet to prophecie, and forbid not to speake languages.
Tua ahikom suapui te awng, mailamthu pualak tu eang tavun, taciang kam tuam taw pau tu zong kham heak vun.
40 Let all things be done honestly, and by order.
Na theampo sia a kiphu a kilawm le a ban a ban in vawt tu a hihi.
