1 And the sonnes of Issachar were Tola and Puah, Iashub, and Shimron, foure,
Issachar's four sons were Tola, Puah, Jashub, and Shimron.
2 And the sonnes of Tola, Vzzi, and Rephaiah, and Ieriel, and Iahmai, and Iibsam, and Shemuel, heads in the housholdes of their fathers. Of Tola were valiant men of warre in their generations, whose nomber was in the dayes of Dauid two and twentie thousand, and sixe hundreth.
The sons of Tola were Uzzi, Rephaiah, Jeriel, Jahmai, Ibsam, and Samuel. They were the heads of their fathers' houses, from the descendants of Tola and they were listed as mighty warriors among their generation. They numbered 22,600 in the days of David.
3 And the sonne of Vzzi was Izrahaiah, and the sonnes of Izrahaiah, Michael, and Obadiah, and Ioel, and Isshiah, fiue men all princes.
Uzzi's son was Izrahiah. His sons were Michael, Obadiah, Joel, and Ishijah, all five of them were clan leaders.
4 And with them in their generations after the houshold of their fathers were bandes of men of warre for battel, sixe and thirtie thousand: for they had many wiues and children.
Along with them they had thirty-six thousand troops for battle, according to the lists belonging to their ancestors' clans, for they had many wives and sons.
5 And their brethren among all the families of Issachar were valiant men of warre, rekoned in all by their genealogies foure score and seuen thousand.
Their relatives were fighting men from all the clans of Issachar, and they numbered in all, eighty-seven thousand fighting men, as listed in their genealogy.
6 The sonnes of Beniamin were Bela, and Becher, and Iediael, three.
Benjamin's three sons were Bela, Beker, and Jediael.
7 And the sonnes of Bela, Ezbon, and Vzzi, and Vzziel, and Ierimoth, and Iri, fiue heads of the housholds of their fathers, valiant men of warre, and were rekoned by their genealogies, two and twentie thousand and thirtie and foure.
Bela's five sons were Ezbon, Uzzi, Uzziel, Jerimoth, and Iri. They were soldiers and heads of fathers' houses. Their people numbered 22,034 fighting men, according to the lists belonging to their ancestors' clans.
8 And the sonnes of Becher, Zemirah, and Ioash, and Eliezer, and Elioenai, and Omri, and Ierimoth, and Abiah, and Anathoth, and Alameth: all these were the sonnes of Becher.
Beker's sons were Zemirah, Joash, Eliezer, Elioenai, Omri, Jeremoth, Abijah, Anathoth, and Alemeth. All these were his sons.
9 And they were nombred by their genealogies according to their generations, and the chiefe of the houses of their fathers, valiant men of warre, twenty thousand and two hundreth.
The lists of their clans numbered 20,200 heads of their fathers' houses and fighting men.
10 And the sonne of Iediael was Bilhan, and the sonnes of Bilhan, Ieush, and Beniamin, and Ehud, and Chenaanah, and Zethan, and Tharshish, and Ahishahar.
The son of Jediael was Bilhan. Bilhan's sons were Jeush, Benjamin, Ehud, Kenaanah, Zethan, Tarshish, and Ahishahar.
11 All these were the sonnes of Iediael, chiefe of the fathers, valiant men of warre, seuenteene thousand and two hundreth, marching in battel aray to the warre.
All these were sons of Jediael. Listed in their clan lists were 17,200 heads of houses and fighting men fit for military service.
12 And Shuppim, and Huppim were ye sonnes of Ir, but Hushim was the sonne of another.
(The Shuppites and the Huppites were sons of Ir, and the Hushites were sons of Aher.)
13 The sonnes of Naphtali, Iahziel, and Guni, and Iezer, and Shallum of the sonnes of Bilhah.
Naphtali's sons were Jahziel, Guni, Jezer, and Shillem. These were Bilhah's grandsons.
14 The sonne of Manasseh was Ashriel whom she bare vnto him, but his concubine of Aram bare Machir the father of Gilead.
Manasseh had a male child named Asriel, whom his Aramean concubine bore. She also gave birth to Makir, Gilead's father.
15 And Machir tooke to wife the sister of Huppim and Shuppim, and the name of their sister was Maachah. And the name of the second sonne was Zelophehad, and Zelophehad had daughters.
Makir took a wife from the Huppites and Shuppites. A sister's name was Maakah. Another of Manasseh's descendants was Zelophehad, who had only daughters.
16 And Maachah the wife of Machir bare a sonne, and called his name Peresh, and the name of his brother was Sheresh: and his sonnes were Vlam and Rakem.
Maakah wife of Makir, bore a son and she called him Peresh. His brother's name was Sheresh, and his sons were Ulam and Rakem.
17 And the sonne of Vlam was Bedan. These were the sonnes of Gilead the sonne of Machir, the sonne of Manasseh.
Ulam's son was Bedan. These were the descendants of Gilead son of Makir son of Manasseh.
18 And his sister Molecheth bare Ishod, and Abiezer, and Mahalah.
Gilead's sister Hammoleketh bore Ishhod, Abiezer, and Mahlah.
19 And the sonnes of Shemida were Ahian, and Shechem, and Likhi, and Aniam.
The sons of Shemida were Ahian, Shechem, Likhi, and Aniam.
20 The sonnes also of Ephraim were Shuthelah, and Bered his sonne, and Tahath his sonne, and his sonne Eladah, and Tahath his sonne,
The descendants of Ephraim were as follows: Ephraim's son was Shuthelah. Shuthelah's son was Bered. Bered's son was Tahath. Tahath's son was Eleadah. Eleadah's son was Tahath.
21 And Zabad his sonne, and Shuthelah his sonne, and Ezer, and Elead: and the men of Gath that were borne in the land, slewe them, because they came downe to take away their cattel.
Tahath's son was Zabad. Zabad's son was Shuthelah. (Ezer and Elead were killed by men of Gath, natives in the land, when they went to steal their cattle.
22 Therefore Ephraim their father mourned many dayes, and his brethren came to comfort him.
Ephraim their father mourned for them many days, and his brothers came to comfort him.
23 And when he went in to his wife, she conceiued, and bare him a sonne, and he called his name Beriah, because affliction was in his house.
He slept with his wife. She conceived and bore a son. Ephraim called him Beriah, because tragedy had come to his family.)
24 And his daughter was Sherah, which built Beth-horon the nether, and the vpper, and Vzzen Sheerah.
His daughter was Sheerah, who built Lower and Upper Beth Horon and Uzzen Sheerah.
25 And Rephah was his sonne, and Resheph, and Telah his sonne, and Tahan his sonne,
His son was Rephah. Rephah's son was Resheph. Resheph's son was Telah. Telah's son was Tahan.
26 Laadan his sonne, Ammihud his sonne, Elishama his sonne,
Tahan's son was Ladan. Ladan's son was Ammihud. Ammihud's son was Elishama.
27 Non his sonne, Iehoshua his sonne.
Elishama's son was Nun. Nun's son was Joshua.
28 And their possessions and their habitations were Beth-el, and the villages thereof, and Eastward Naaran, and Westwarde Gezer with the villages thereof, Shechem also and the villages thereof, vnto Azzah, and the villages thereof,
Their possessions and residences were Bethel and its surrounding villages. They extended eastward to Naaran and westward to Gezer and its villages, and to Shechem and its villages to Ayyah and its villages.
29 And by the places of the children of Manasseh, Beth-shean and her villages, Taanach and her villages, Megiddo and her villages, Dor and her villages. In those dwelt the children of Ioseph the sonne of Israel.
On the border with Manasseh were Beth Shan and its villages, Taanach and its villages, Megiddo and its villages, and Dor and its villages. In these towns the descendants of Joseph son of Israel lived.
30 The sonnes of Asher were Imnah, and Isuah, and Ishuai, and Beriah, and Serah their sister.
Asher's sons were Imnah, Ishvah, Ishvi, and Beriah. Serah was their sister.
31 And the sonnes of Beriah, Heber, and Malchiel, which is the father of Birzauith.
Beriah's sons were Heber and Malkiel, who was the father of Birzaith.
32 And Heber begate Iaphlet, and Shomer, and Hotham, and Shuah their sister.
Heber's sons were Japhlet, Shomer, and Hotham. Shua was their sister.
33 And the sonnes of Iaphlet were Pasach, and Bimhal, and Ashuath: these were the children of Iaphlet.
Japhlet's sons were Pasak, Bimhal, and Ashvath. These were Japhlet's children.
34 And the sonnes of Shamer, Ahi, and Rohgah, Iehubbah, and Aram.
Shomer, Japhlet's brother, had these sons: Rohgah, Hubbah, and Aram.
35 And the sonnes of his brother Helem were Zophah, and Iimna, and Shelesh and Amal.
Shemer's brother, Helem, had these sons: Zophah, Imna, Shelesh, and Amal.
36 The sonnes of Zophah, Suah, and Harnepher, and Shual, and Beri, and Imrah,
Zophah's sons were Suah, Harnepher, Shual, Beri, Imrah,
37 Bezer and Hod, and Shamma, and Shilshah, and Ithran, and Beera.
Bezer, Hod, Shamma, Shilshah, Ithran, and Beera.
38 And the sonnes of Iether, Iephunneh, and Pispa and Ara.
Jether's sons were Jephunneh, Pispah, and Ara.
39 And the sonnes of Vlla, Harah, and Haniel, and Rizia.
Ulla's sons were Arah, Hanniel, and Rizia.
40 All these were the children of Asher, the heads of their fathers houses, noble men, valiant men of warre and chiefe princes, and they were rekoned by their genealogies for warre and for battell to the nomber of sixe and twentie thousand men.
All these were descendants of Asher. They were ancestors of the clans, heads of fathers' houses, distinguished men, fighting men, and chief among the leaders. There were twenty-six thousand men listed who were fit for military service, according to their numbered lists.
