1 Chronicles 6

1 The sonnes of Leui were Gershon, Kohath, and Merari.

The sones of Leuy weren Gerson, Caath, and Merary.

2 And the sonnes of Kohath, Amram, Izhar, and Hebron, and Vzziel.

The sones of Chaath weren Amram, Isaar, Ebron, and Oziel.

3 And the children of Amram, Aaron, and Moses and Miriam. And the sonnes of Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, and Eleazar, and Ithamar.

The sones of Amram weren Aaron, Moyses, and Marie. The sones of Aaron weren Nadab,

4 Eleazar begate Phinehas. Phinehas begate Abishua,

and Abyu, Eleazar, and Ythamar. Eleazar gendride Phynees, and Phynees gendride Abisue,

5 And Abishua begate Bukki, and Bukki begate Vzzi,

Abisue gendride Bocci, and Bocci gendride Ozi,

6 And Vzzi begate Zerahiah, and Zerahiah begate Meraioth.

Ozi gendride Zaraie, and Zaraie gendride Meraioth.

7 Meraioth begate Amariah, and Amariah begate Ahitub,

Forsothe Meraioth gendride Amarie, Amarie gendride Achitob,

8 And Ahitub begate Zadok, and Zadok begate Ahimaaz,

Achitob gendride Sadoch, Sadoch gendride Achymaas, Achymaas gendride Azarie,

9 And Ahimaaz begate Azariah, and Azariah begate Iohanan,

Azarie gendride Johannam,

10 And Iohanan begate Azariah (it was hee that was Priest in the house that Salomon built in Ierusalem)

Johannam gendride Azarie; he it is that was set in preesthod, in the hows which Salomon bildide in Jerusalem.

11 And Azariah begate Amariah, and Amariah begate Ahitub,

15 And Iehozadak departed when the Lord caried away into captiuitie Iudah and Ierusalem by the hand of Nebuchad-nezzar.

Forsothe Josedech yede out, whanne the Lord translatide Juda and Jerusalem bi the hondis of Nabugodonosor kyng.

16 The sonnes of Leui were Gershom, Kohath and Merari.

Therfor the sones of Leuy weren Gerson, Caath, and Merary.

17 And these be the names of the sonnes of Gershom, Libni, and Shimei.

And these weren the names of the sones of Gerson; Lobeni, and Semei.

18 And the sonnes of Kohath were Amram, and Izhar, and Hebron and Vzziel.

The sones of Caath weren Amram, and Isaar, and Ebron, and Oziel.

19 The sonnes of Merari, Mahli and Mushi: and these are the families of Leui concerning their fathers.

The sones of Merari weren Moli, and Musi. Sotheli these weren the kynredis of Leuy bi the meynees of hem;

20 Of Gershom, Libni his sonne, Iahath his sonne, Zimmah his sonne,

Gerson; Lobony, his sone; Jaath, his sone; Zama, his sone;

21 Ioah his sonne, Iddo his sonne, Zerah his sonne, Ieaterai his sonne.

23 Elkanah his sonne, and Ebiasaph his sonne, and Assir his sonne,

Azyra, his sone; Helcana, his sone; Abiasaph, his sone;

24 Tahath his sonne, Vriel his sonne, Vzziah his sonne, and Shaul his sonne,

Aser, his sone; Caath, his sone; Vriel, his sone; Azias, his sone; Saul, his sone.

25 And the sonnes of Elkanah, Amasai, and Ahimoth.

The sones of Helchana weren Amasay, and Achymoth, and Helcana.

26 Elkanah. the sonnes of Elkanah, Zophai his sonne, and Nahath his sonne,

The sones of Helcana; Saphay, his sone;

27 Eliab his sonne, Ieroham his sonne, Elkanah his sonne,

Naath, his sone; Heliab, his sone; Heroam, his sone; Helcana, his sone.

28 And the sonnes of Shemuel, the eldest Vashni, then Abiah.

The sones of Samuel; the firste gendrid Nasen, and Abia.

29 The sonnes of Merari were Mahli, Libni his sonne, Shimei his sonne, Vzzah his sonne,

Sotheli the sones of Merari; Moli, his sone; Lobeny, his sone; Semey, his sone;

30 Shimea his sonne, Haggiah his sonne, Asaiah his sonne.

Oza, his sone; Sama, his sone; Aggias, his sone; Azaya, his sone;

31 And these be they whom Dauid set for to sing in the house of the Lord, after that the Arke had rest.

These it ben whiche Dauid ordeynede on the syngeris of the hows of the Lord, sithen the arke of the Lord was set;

32 And they ministred before the Tabernacle, euen the Tabernacle of the Congregation with singing, vntill Salomon had built ye house of the Lord in Ierusalem: then they continued in their office, according to their custome.

and thei mynystriden bifor the tabernacle of witnessyng, and sungun, til Salomon bildide the hows of the Lord in Jerusalem; forsothe thei stoden bi her ordre in seruyce.

33 And these ministred with their children: of the sonnes of Kohath, Heman a singer, the sonne of Ioel, the sonne of Shemuel,

Sotheli thes it ben that stoden nyy with her sones. Of the sones of Caath; Heman the chauntor, the sone of Joel, sone of Samuel,

34 The sonne of Elkanah, the sonne of Ieroham, the sonne of Eliel, the sonne of Toah,

sone of Helcana, sone of Joroam, sone of Heliel,

35 The sonne of Zuph, the sonne of Elkanah, the sonne of Mahath, the sonne of Amasai,

sone of Thou, sone of Suph,

36 The sonne of Elkanah, the sonne of Ioel, the sonne of Azariah, the sonne of Zephaniah,

39 And his brother Asaph stoode on his right hand: and Asaph was the sonne of Berechiah, the sonne of Shimea,

And hise britheren; Asaph, that stood at the riythalf of hym, Asaph, the sone of Barachie,

40 The sonne of Michael, the sonne of Baaseiah, the sonne of Malchiah,

sone of Samaa, sone of Mychael, sone of Basye, sone of Melchie, sone of Atthay,

41 The sonne of Ethni, the sonne of Zerah, the sonne of Adaiah,

sone of Zara, sone of Adala,

42 The sonne of Ethan, the sonne of Zimmah, the sonne of Shimei,

44 And their brethren the sonnes of Merari were on the left hand, euen Ethan the sonne of Kishi, the sonne of Abdi, the sonne of Malluch,

Forsothe the sones of Merary, the britheren of hem, weren at the leftside; Ethan, the sone of Chusi, sone of Abdi, sone of Moloch, sone of Asabie,

45 The sonne of Hashabiah, the sonne of Amaziah, the sonne of Hilkiah,

sone of Amasie, sone of Helchie,

46 The sonne of Amzi, the sonne of Bani, the sonne of Shamer,

sone of Amasay, sone of Bonny, sone of Soomer,

47 The sonne of Mahli, the sonne of Mushi, the sonne of Merari, the sonne of Leui.

sone of Moli, sone of Musi, sone of Merarie, sone of Leuy.

48 And their brethren the Leuites were appointed vnto all the seruice of the Tabernacle of the house of God,

And dekenes, the britheren of hem, that weren ordeyned in to al the seruyce of the tabernacle of the hows of the Lord.

49 But Aaron and his sonnes burnt incense vpon the altar of burnt offering, and on the altar of incense, for all that was to do in the most holy place, and to make an atonement for Israel, according to all that Moses the seruant of God had commanded.

Forsothe Aaron and hise sones brenten encense on the auter of brent sacrifices, and on the auter of encense, in to al the werk `of the hooli of hooli thingis; and that thei schulden preie for Israel, by alle thingis whiche Moises, the seruaunt of God, comaundide.

50 These are also the sonnes of Aaron, Eleazar his sonne, Phinehas his sonne, Abishua his sonne,

Sotheli these ben the sones of Aaron; Eleazar, his sone; Phynes, his sone;

51 Bukki his sonne, Vzzi his sonne, Zerahiah his sonne,

Abisue, his sone; Bocci, his sone; Ogzi, his sone; Zara, his sone; Meraioth, his sone;

52 Meraioth his sonne, Amariah his sonne, Ahitub his sonne,

Amarias, his sone; Achitob, his sone;

53 Zadok his sonne, and Ahimaaz his sonne.

Sadoch, his sone; Achimaas, his sone.

54 And these are the dwelling places of them throughout their townes and coastes, euen of the sonnes of Aaron for the familie of the Kohathites, for the lot was theirs.

And these weren the dwelling places, bi the townes and coostis of hem, that is, of the sones of Aaron, bi the kynredis of Caathitis; for tho bifelden to hem bi lot.

55 So they gaue them Hebron in the lande of Iudah and the suburbes thereof rounde about it.

Therfor the children of Israel yauen to hem Ebron in the lond of Juda, and the subarbis therof bi cumpas;

56 But the fielde of the citie, and the villages thereof they gaue to Caleb the sonne of Iephunneh.

sotheli thei yauen the feeldis and townes of the citees to Caleph, sone of Jephone.

57 And to the sonnes of Aaron they gaue the cities of Iudah for refuge, euen Hebron and Libna with their suburbes, and Iattir, and Eshtemoa with their suburbes,

Forsothe thei yauen citees to the sones of Aaron, Ebron to refuyt; and thei yauen Lobna,

58 And Hilen with her suburbes, and Debir with her suburbes,

with hise subarbis, and Jether, and Escamo, with her subarbis, but also Helon, and Dabir, with her subarbis; also thei yauen Asan,

59 And Ashan and her suburbes, and Bethshemesh and her suburbes:

and Bethsames, and the subarbis of tho.

60 And of the tribe of Beniamin, Geba and her suburbes, and Alemeth with her suburbes, and Anathoth with her suburbes: all their cities were thirteene cities by their families.

Sotheli of the lynage of Beniamyn thei yauen Gabee, and the subarbis therof, and Alamach with hise subarbis, Anathot also with hise subarbis; alle the citees weren threttene with her subarbis, bi the kynredis of hem.

61 And vnto the sonnes of Kohath the remnant of the familie of the tribe, euen of the halfe tribe of the halfe of Manasseh, by lot ten cities.

Forsothe to the sones of Caath, residues of her kynrede, thei yauen of the half lynage of Manasses ten citees `in to possessioun.

62 And to the sonnes of Gershom according to their families out of the tribe of Issachar, and out of the tribe of Asher, and out of the tribe of Naphtali, and out of the tribe of Manasseh in Bashan, thirteene cities.

Sotheli to the sones of Gerson bi her kynredis thei yauen fourtene citees in Basan, of the lynage of Ysacar, and of the lynage of Aser, and of the lynage of Neptalym, and of the lynage of Manasses.

63 Vnto the sonnes of Merari according to their families out of the tribe of Reuben, and out of the tribe of Gad, and out of the tribe of Zebulun, by lot twelue cities.

Forsothe to the sones of Merary by her kynredis thei yauen bi lottis twelue citees, of the lynage of Ruben, of the lynage of Gad, and of the lynage of Zabulon.

64 Thus the children of Israel gaue to the Leuites cities with their suburbes.

And the sones of Israel yauen to dekenes citees and subarbis of tho;

65 And they gaue by lot out of the tribe of the children of Iudah, and out of the tribe of the children of Simeon, and out of the tribe of the children of Beniamin, these cities, which they called by their names.

and thei yauen bi lot, of the sones of the lynage of Juda, and of the lynage of the sones of Symeon, and of the lynage of the sones of Beniamyn, these citees, which the dekenes clepiden bi her names;

66 And they of the families of the sonnes of Kohath, had cities and their coastes out of the tribe of Ephraim.

and of hem that weren of the kynrede of the sones of Caath, and in the termes of hem weren the citees of the lynage of Effraym.

67 And they gaue vnto them cities of refuge, Shechem in mount Ephraim, and her suburbes, and Gezer and her suburbes,

And the sones of Israel yauen to hem citees of refuyt; Sichem with hise subarbis in the hil of Effraym, and Gazer with hise subarbis, also Hicmaan with hise subarbis,

68 Iokmeam also and her suburbes, and Bethhoron with her suburbes,

and Betheron also.

69 And Aialon and her suburbes, and Gath Rimmon and her suburbes,

Also of the lynage of Dan thei yauen Ebethe, Gebethor, and Heialan, and Helon, with her subarbis, and Gethremon bi the same maner.

70 And out of the halfe tribe of Manasseh, Aner and her suburbes, and Bileam and her suburbes, for the families of the remnant of the sonnes of Kohath.

Forsothe of the half lynage of Manasses thei yauen Aner, and the subarbis therof, Balaam, and the subarbis therof; that is, to hem that weren residue of the kynrede of the sones of Caath.

71 Vnto the sonnes of Gershom out of the familie of the halfe tribe of Manasseh, Golan in Bashan, and her suburbes, and Ashtaroth with her suburbes,

Sotheli to the sones of Gerson thei yauen of the kynrede of half the lynage of Manasses, Gaulon in Basan, and the subarbis therof, and Astoroth with hise subarbis.

72 And out of the tribe of Issachar, Kedesh and her suburbes, Daberath and her suburbes,

Of the lynage of Isachar thei yauen Cedes, and the subarbis therof, and Daberith with hise subarbis; also Samoth,

73 Ramoth also and her suburbes, and Anem with her suburbes,

and his subarbis, `and Anem with hise subarbis.

74 And out of the tribe of Asher, Mashal and her suburbes, and Abdon and her suburbes,

Also of the linage of Aser thei yauen Masal with hise subarbis, and Abdon also,

75 And Hukok and her suburbs, and Rehob and her suburbes,

and Asach, and the subarbis therof, and Roob with hise subarbis.

76 And out of the tribe of Naphtali, Kedesh in Galilea and her suburbes, and Hammon and her suburbes, and Kiriathaim and her suburbes.

Sotheli of the lynage of Neptalym thei yauen Cedes in Galilee, and the subarbis therof, Amon with hise subarbis, and Cariathiarym, and subarbis therof.

77 Vnto the rest of the children of Merari were giuen out of ye tribe of Zebulun Rimmon and her suburbes, Tabor and her suburbes,

Sotheli to the residue sones of Merary thei yauen of the lynage of Zabulon, Remon, and subarbis therof, and Thabor with hise subarbis.

78 And on the other side Iorden by Iericho, euen on the Eastside of Iorden, out of the tribe of Reuben, Bezer in the wildernesse with her suburbes, and Iahzah with her suburbes,

Also biyende Jordan, euene ayens Jerico, ayens the eest of Jordan, thei yauen of the lynage of Ruben, Bosor in the wildirnesse with hise subarbis, and Jasa with hise subarbis,

79 And Kedemoth with her suburbes, and Mephaath with her suburbes,

also Cademoth, and hise subarbis, and Myphaat with hise subarbis.

80 And out of the tribe of Gad Ramoth in Gilead with her suburbes, and Mahanaim with her suburbes,

Also and of the lynage of Gad thei yauen Ramoth in Galaath, and the subarbis therof, Manaym with hise subarbis,

81 And Heshbon with her suburbes, and Iaazer with her suburbes.

but also Esebon with hise subarbis, and Jezer with hise subarbis.
