1 Chronicles 4
1 The sonnes of Iudah were Pharez, Hezron, and Carmi, and Hur, and Shobal.
Berikut ini adalah sebagian dari keturunan Yehuda: Peres, Hezron, Karmi, Hur dan Syobal.
2 And Reaiah the sonne of Shobal begat Iahath, and Iahath begate Ahumai, and Lahad: these are the families of the Zoreathites.
Syobal adalah ayah Reaya, Reaya ayah Yahat. Yahat mempunyai dua anak laki-laki: Ahumai dan Lahad. Mereka leluhur penduduk kota Zora.
3 And these were of the father of Etam, Izreel, and Ishma and Idbash: and the name of their sister was Hazelelponi.
Anak laki-laki sulung dari Kaleb dengan istrinya yang bernama Efrat adalah Hur. Keturunan Hur adalah pendiri kota Betlehem. Etam, Pnuel dan Ezer adalah anak-anak Hur. Etam mempunyai tiga anak laki-laki bernama Yizreel, Isma dan Idbas, dan satu anak perempuan bernama Hazelelponi. Pnuel mendirikan kota Gedor dan Ezer mendirikan kota Husa.
4 And Penuel was the father of Gedor, and Ezer the father of Hushah: these are the sonnes of Hur the eldest sonne of Ephratah, the father of Beth-lehem.
5 But Asher the father of Tekoa had two wiues, Heleah, and Naarah.
Asyhur yang mendirikan kota Tekoa mempunyai dua istri, yaitu Hela dan Naara.
6 And Naarah bare him Ahuzam, and Hepher, and Temeni and Haashtari: these were the sonnes of Naarah.
Dengan Naara ia mendapat empat anak laki-laki: Ahuzam, Hefer, Temeni dan Ahastari.
7 And the sonnes of Heleah were Zereth, Iezohar and Ethnan.
Dengan Hela, Asyhur mendapat tiga anak laki-laki, yaitu Zeret, Yezohar dan Etnan.
8 Also Coz begate Anub, and Zobebah, and the families of Aharhel the sonne of Harum.
Anub dan Hazobeba adalah anak-anak lelaki Kos leluhur kaum keturunan Aharhel anak Harum.
9 But Iabez was more honourable then his brethren: and his mother called his name Iabez, saying, Because I bare him in sorowe.
Ada seorang laki-laki bernama Yabes; ia lebih dihormati daripada saudara-saudaranya. Ia diberikan nama Yabes oleh ibunya, karena ibunya sangat menderita ketika melahirkan dia.
10 And Iabez called on the God of Israel, saying, If thou wilt blesse me in deede, and enlarge my coastes, and if thine hand be with me, and thou wilt cause me to be deliuered from euill, that I be not hurt. And God graunted the thing that he asked.
Tetapi Yabes berdoa kepada Allah yang disembah oleh orang Israel, katanya, "Ya Allah, berkatilah aku, dan perluaslah kiranya wilayahku. Lindungilah aku dan jauhkanlah malapetaka supaya aku tidak menderita." Dan Allah mengabulkan permintaannya.
11 And Chelub the brother of Shuah begate Mehir, which was the father of Eshton.
Kelub saudara Suha mempunyai anak laki-laki bernama Mehir. Anak Mehir adalah Eston,
12 And Eshton begate Beth-rapha, and Paseah, and Tehinnah the father of the citie of Nahash: these are the men of Rechah.
dan Eston mempunyai tiga anak laki-laki, yaitu Bet-Rafa, Paseah dan Tehina, yang mendirikan kota Nahas. Keturunan orang-orang itu tinggal di kota Reka.
13 And the sonnes of Kenaz were Othniel and Zeraiah, and the sonne of Othniel, Hathath.
Kenas mempunyai dua anak laki-laki bernama Otniel dan Seraya. Otniel juga mempunyai dua anak laki-laki, yaitu Hatat dan Meonotai.
14 And Meonothai begate Ophrah. And Seraiah begate Ioab the father of the valley of craftesmen: for they were craftesmen.
Anak Meonotai ialah Ofra. Anak Seraya ialah Yoab pendiri Lembah Pengrajin. Seluruh penduduk di lembah itu adalah ahli pembuat kerajinan tangan.
15 And the sonnes of Caleb the sonne of Iephunneh were Iru, Elah, and Naam. And the sonne of Elah was Kenaz.
Kaleb anak Yefune mempunyai tiga anak laki-laki: Iru, Ela dan Naam. Anak Ela ialah Kenas.
16 And the sonnes of Iehaleel were Ziph, and Ziphah, Tiria, and Asareel.
Yehaleleel mempunyai empat anak laki-laki: Zif, Zifa, Tireya dan Asareel.
17 And the sonnes of Ezrah were Iether and Mered, and Epher, and Ialon, and he begate Miriam, and Shammai, and Ishbah the father of Eshtemoa.
Anak laki-laki Ezra ada empat orang: Yeter, Mered, Efer dan Yalon. Mered kawin dengan Bica putri raja Mesir. Mereka mendapat seorang anak perempuan bernama Miryam, dan dua anak laki-laki bernama Samai dan Yisba. Yisba adalah pendiri kota Estemoa. Mered juga kawin dengan seorang wanita dari suku Yehuda; anak mereka yang laki-laki ada tiga orang: Yered pendiri kota Gedor, Heber pendiri kota Sokho, dan Yekutiel pendiri kota Zanoah.
18 Also his wife Iehudiiah bare Iered the father of Gedor, and Heber the father of Socho, and Iekuthiel the father of Zanoah: and these are the sonnes of Bithiah ye daughter of Pharaoh which Mered tooke.
19 And the sonnes of the wife of Hodiah, the sister of Naham the father of Keilah were the Garmites, and Eshtemoa the Maachathite.
Hodia kawin dengan saudara perempuan Naham. Keturunan mereka adalah leluhur kaum Garmi dan kaum Maakha. Kaum Garmi tinggal di kota Kehila, dan kaum Maakha tinggal di kota Estemoa.
20 And the sonnes of Shimon were Amnon and Rinnah, Ben-hanam and Tilon. And the sonnes of Ishi were Zoheth, and Benzoheth.
Simon mempunyai empat anak laki-laki: Amnon, Rina, Benhanan dan Tilon. Yisei mempunyai dua anak laki-laki: Zohet dan Ben-Zohet.
21 The sonnes of Shelah, the sonne of Iudah were Er the father of Lecah, and Laadah the father of Mareshah, and the families of the householdes of them that wrought fine linnen in the house of Ashbea.
Salah seorang anak Yehuda bernama Sela. Keturunannya adalah sebagai berikut: Er pendiri kota Lekha, Lada pendiri kota Maresa, Kaum penenun kain lenan di kota Bet-Asybea, Yokim, Penduduk kota Kozeba, Yoas, Saraf yang kawin dengan wanita-wanita Moab dan kemudian kembali ke Betlehem. Daftar itu dikutip dari catatan kuno.
22 And Iokim and the men of Chozeba and Ioash, and Saraph, which had the dominion in Moab, and Iashubi Lehem. These also are auncient things.
23 These were potters, and dwelt among plants and hedges: there they dwelt with the king for his worke.
Mereka semua pembuat kendi dan tempayan untuk raja dan tinggal di kota Netaim dan Gedera.
24 The sonnes of Simeon were Nemuel, and Iamin, Iarib, Zerah, and Shaul,
Simeon mempunyai lima anak laki-laki: Nemuel, Yamin, Yarib, Zerah dan Saul.
25 Whose sonne was Shallum, and his sonne, Mibsam, and his sonne Mishma.
Keturunan Saul adalah sebagai berikut: Salum, Mibsam, Misma, Hamuel, Zakur, Simei.
26 And the sonnes of Mishma, Hamuel was his sonne, Zacchur his sonne, and Shimei his sonne.
27 And Shimei had sixteene sonnes, and sixe daughters, but his brethren had not many children, neither was all their familie like to the children of Iudah in multitude.
Simei mempunyai 22 anak: 16 laki-laki dan 6 perempuan. Tetapi sanak saudara Simei sedikit saja anaknya. Keturunan Simeon tidak sebanyak keturunan Yehuda.
28 And they dwelt at Beer-sheba, and at Moladah, and at Hazar Shual,
Sampai kepada masa Raja Daud, keturunan Simeon tinggal di kota-kota berikut ini: Bersyeba, Molada, Hazar-Sual,
29 And at Bilhah, and at Ezem, and at Tolad,
Bilha, Ezem, Tolad,
30 And at Bethuel, and at Hormah, and at Ziklag,
Betuel, Horma, Ziklag,
31 And at Beth-marcaboth, and at Hazar Susim, at Beth-birei, and at Shaaraim, these were their cities vnto the reigne of Dauid.
Bet-Markabot, Hazar-Susim, Bet-Biri dan Saaraim.
32 And their townes were Etam, and Ain, Rimmon, and Tochen, and Ashan, fiue cities.
Mereka juga tinggal di lima tempat yang lain, yaitu Etam, Ain, Rimon, Tokhen, Asan,
33 And all their townes that were rounde about these cities vnto Baal, These are their habitations and the declaration of their genealogie,
dan di kampung-kampung sekitar tempat-tempat itu sampai sejauh kota Baal di bagian barat daya. Demikianlah catatan yang ada pada keturunan Simeon mengenai Silsilah dan tempat-tempat tinggal mereka.
34 And Meshobab, and Iamlech, and Ioshah the sonne of Amashiah,
Berikut ini adalah nama-nama kepala kaum dalam suku Simeon: Mesobab, Yamlekh, Yosa anak Amazia, Yoel, Yehu anak Yosibya (Yosibya adalah anak Seraya, cucu Asiel), Elyoenai, Yaakoba, Yesohaya, Asaya, Adiel, Yesimiel, Benaya, Ziza anak Sifei (garis silsilah dari Sifei ke atas ialah: Alon, Yedaya, Simri, Semaya). Karena keluarga-keluarga mereka terus bertambah,
35 And Ioel and Iehu the sonne of Ioshibiah, the sonne of Seraiah, the sonne of Asiel,
36 And Elionai, and Iaakobah, and Ieshohaiah, and Asaiah, and Adiel, and Iesimiel, and Benaiah,
37 And Ziza the sonne of Shiphei, the sonne of Allon, the sonne of Iedaiah, the sonne of Shimri, the sonne of Shemaiah.
38 These were famous princes in their families, and increased greatly their fathers houses.
39 And they went to the entring in of Gedor, euen vnto the East side of the valley, to seeke pasture for their sheepe.
maka mereka menyebar ke barat sampai dekat kota Gedor yang terletak di sebuah lembah. Di sebelah timur lembah itu mereka menemukan padang rumput yang subur lagi luas serta tenang untuk ternak mereka. Dahulu daerah itu didiami orang-orang Ham yang hidup damai.
40 And they found fat pasture and good, and a wide land, both quiet and fruitfull: for they of Ham had dwelt there before.
41 And these described by name, came in the dayes of Hezekiah king of Iudah, and smote their tents, and the inhabitants that were found there, and destroyed them vtterly vnto this day, and dwelt in their roume, because there was pasture there for their sheepe.
Pada zaman Hizkia raja Yehuda keturunan Simeon tersebut menyerbu Gedor. Mereka menghancurkan kemah-kemah penduduk kota itu dan orang Meunim, lalu mengusir penduduknya. Kemudian mereka menetap di sana karena banyak padang rumputnya untuk ternak mereka.
42 And besides these, fiue hundreth men of the sonnes of Simeon went to mount Seir, and Pelatiah, and Neariah, and Rophaiah, and Vzziel the sonnes of Ishi were their captaines,
Di bawah pimpinan anak-anak Yisei, yaitu Pelaca, Nearya, Refaya dan Uziel, 500 anggota yang lain dari suku Simeon pindah ke Edom di timur.
43 And they smote the rest of Amalek that had escaped, and they dwelt there vnto this day.
Mereka membunuh sisa-sisa orang Amalek, lalu menetap di situ sejak waktu itu.
