1 Chronicles 4
1 The sonnes of Iudah were Pharez, Hezron, and Carmi, and Hur, and Shobal.
Les fils de Juda: Pérez, Hetsron, Carmi, Hur et Shobal.
2 And Reaiah the sonne of Shobal begat Iahath, and Iahath begate Ahumai, and Lahad: these are the families of the Zoreathites.
Reaja, fils de Shobal, engendra Jahath; et Jahath engendra Ahumai et Lahad. Ce sont là les familles des Zorathites.
3 And these were of the father of Etam, Izreel, and Ishma and Idbash: and the name of their sister was Hazelelponi.
Voici les fils du père d'Etam: Jezreel, Isma et Idbash. Le nom de leur sœur était Hazzelelponi.
4 And Penuel was the father of Gedor, and Ezer the father of Hushah: these are the sonnes of Hur the eldest sonne of Ephratah, the father of Beth-lehem.
Penuel était le père de Gedor et Ezer le père de Hushah. Ce sont les fils de Hur, premier-né d'Ephrata, père de Bethléhem.
5 But Asher the father of Tekoa had two wiues, Heleah, and Naarah.
Ashhur, père de Tekoa, avait deux femmes: Héla et Naara.
6 And Naarah bare him Ahuzam, and Hepher, and Temeni and Haashtari: these were the sonnes of Naarah.
Naara lui enfanta Ahuzzam, Hepher, Temeni et Haahashtari. Ce sont les fils de Naara.
7 And the sonnes of Heleah were Zereth, Iezohar and Ethnan.
Les fils d'Héla étaient Zereth, Jitsehar et Ethnan.
8 Also Coz begate Anub, and Zobebah, and the families of Aharhel the sonne of Harum.
Hakkoz engendra Anub, Zobéba et les familles d'Aharhel, fils de Harum.
9 But Iabez was more honourable then his brethren: and his mother called his name Iabez, saying, Because I bare him in sorowe.
Jabez était plus honorable que ses frères. Sa mère lui donna le nom de Jabez, en disant: « Parce que je l'ai porté dans la douleur. »
10 And Iabez called on the God of Israel, saying, If thou wilt blesse me in deede, and enlarge my coastes, and if thine hand be with me, and thou wilt cause me to be deliuered from euill, that I be not hurt. And God graunted the thing that he asked.
Jabez invoqua le Dieu d'Israël et dit: « Que tu me bénisses et que tu étendes mon territoire! Que ta main soit avec moi, et que tu me gardes du mal, afin que je ne fasse pas de mal! ». Dieu lui a accordé ce qu'il demandait.
11 And Chelub the brother of Shuah begate Mehir, which was the father of Eshton.
Chelub, frère de Shuhah, engendra Mehir, qui engendra Eshton.
12 And Eshton begate Beth-rapha, and Paseah, and Tehinnah the father of the citie of Nahash: these are the men of Rechah.
Eshton engendra Beth Rapha, Paseah, et Tehinnah, père de Ir Nahash. Ce sont là les hommes de Réca.
13 And the sonnes of Kenaz were Othniel and Zeraiah, and the sonne of Othniel, Hathath.
Fils de Kenaz: Othniel et Seraia. Fils d'Othniel: Hathath.
14 And Meonothai begate Ophrah. And Seraiah begate Ioab the father of the valley of craftesmen: for they were craftesmen.
Meonothaï engendra Ophra; et Seraja engendra Joab, père de Ge Harashim, car ils étaient artisans.
15 And the sonnes of Caleb the sonne of Iephunneh were Iru, Elah, and Naam. And the sonne of Elah was Kenaz.
Fils de Caleb, fils de Jephunné: Iru, Éla, et Naam. Le fils d'Elah: Kenaz.
16 And the sonnes of Iehaleel were Ziph, and Ziphah, Tiria, and Asareel.
Fils de Jehallelel: Ziph, Zipha, Tiria et Asarel.
17 And the sonnes of Ezrah were Iether and Mered, and Epher, and Ialon, and he begate Miriam, and Shammai, and Ishbah the father of Eshtemoa.
Fils d'Ezra: Jether, Mered, Epher et Jalon; la femme de Mered enfanta Miriam, Shammai et Ishbah, père d'Eshtemoa.
18 Also his wife Iehudiiah bare Iered the father of Gedor, and Heber the father of Socho, and Iekuthiel the father of Zanoah: and these are the sonnes of Bithiah ye daughter of Pharaoh which Mered tooke.
Sa femme, la Juive, enfanta Jered, père de Gedor, Héber, père de Soco, et Jekuthiel, père de Zanoah. Ce sont les fils de Bithiah, fille de Pharaon, que Mered a prise.
19 And the sonnes of the wife of Hodiah, the sister of Naham the father of Keilah were the Garmites, and Eshtemoa the Maachathite.
Les fils de la femme de Hodia, sœur de Naham, sont les pères de Keila, le Garmite, et d'Eshtemoa, le Maacathite.
20 And the sonnes of Shimon were Amnon and Rinnah, Ben-hanam and Tilon. And the sonnes of Ishi were Zoheth, and Benzoheth.
Fils de Shimon: Amnon, Rinnah, Ben Hanan et Tilon. Fils de Jishi: Zoheth et Ben Zoheth.
21 The sonnes of Shelah, the sonne of Iudah were Er the father of Lecah, and Laadah the father of Mareshah, and the families of the householdes of them that wrought fine linnen in the house of Ashbea.
Fils de Schéla, fils de Juda: Er, père de Leca, Laada, père de Maréscha, et les familles de la maison de ceux qui travaillent le lin fin, de la maison d'Ashbea;
22 And Iokim and the men of Chozeba and Ioash, and Saraph, which had the dominion in Moab, and Iashubi Lehem. These also are auncient things.
Jokim, les hommes de Cozéba, Joas, Saraph, qui dominait dans Moab, et Jashubilehem. Ces annales sont anciennes.
23 These were potters, and dwelt among plants and hedges: there they dwelt with the king for his worke.
Ce sont les potiers et les habitants de Netaïm et de Guédéra; ils habitaient là avec le roi pour son travail.
24 The sonnes of Simeon were Nemuel, and Iamin, Iarib, Zerah, and Shaul,
Fils de Siméon: Nemuel, Jamin, Jarib, Zérach, Saül.
25 Whose sonne was Shallum, and his sonne, Mibsam, and his sonne Mishma.
Shallum, son fils, Mibsam, son fils, et Mishma, son fils.
26 And the sonnes of Mishma, Hamuel was his sonne, Zacchur his sonne, and Shimei his sonne.
Fils de Mischma: Hammuel, son fils; Zaccur, son fils; Schimeï, son fils.
27 And Shimei had sixteene sonnes, and sixe daughters, but his brethren had not many children, neither was all their familie like to the children of Iudah in multitude.
Shimei eut seize fils et six filles; mais ses frères n'eurent pas beaucoup d'enfants, et toute leur famille ne se multiplia pas comme les enfants de Juda.
28 And they dwelt at Beer-sheba, and at Moladah, and at Hazar Shual,
Ils habitaient à Beer Schéba, à Molada, à Hazarshual,
29 And at Bilhah, and at Ezem, and at Tolad,
à Bilha, à Ezem, à Tolad,
30 And at Bethuel, and at Hormah, and at Ziklag,
à Bethuel, à Horma, à Tsiklag,
31 And at Beth-marcaboth, and at Hazar Susim, at Beth-birei, and at Shaaraim, these were their cities vnto the reigne of Dauid.
à Beth Marcaboth, à Hazar Susim, à Beth Biri et à Shaaraïm. Ce furent là leurs villes jusqu'au règne de David.
32 And their townes were Etam, and Ain, Rimmon, and Tochen, and Ashan, fiue cities.
Leurs villages étaient Etam, Aïn, Rimmon, Tochen et Ashan, soit cinq villes,
33 And all their townes that were rounde about these cities vnto Baal, These are their habitations and the declaration of their genealogie,
et tous les villages qui entouraient ces mêmes villes, jusqu'à Baal. Ce sont là leurs établissements, et ils ont conservé leur généalogie.
34 And Meshobab, and Iamlech, and Ioshah the sonne of Amashiah,
Meshobab, Jamlech, Josué, fils d'Amatsia,
35 And Ioel and Iehu the sonne of Ioshibiah, the sonne of Seraiah, the sonne of Asiel,
Joël, Jéhu, fils de Joshibia, fils de Seraja, fils d'Asiel,
36 And Elionai, and Iaakobah, and Ieshohaiah, and Asaiah, and Adiel, and Iesimiel, and Benaiah,
Elioénaï, Jaakoba, Jeshohaja, Asaja, Adiel, Jesimiel, Benaja,
37 And Ziza the sonne of Shiphei, the sonne of Allon, the sonne of Iedaiah, the sonne of Shimri, the sonne of Shemaiah.
et Ziza, fils de Shiphi, fils d'Allon, fils de Jedaiah, fils de Shimri, fils de Shemaiah-
38 These were famous princes in their families, and increased greatly their fathers houses.
ces personnes mentionnées nommément étaient des princes dans leurs familles. Les maisons de leurs pères connurent un grand accroissement.
39 And they went to the entring in of Gedor, euen vnto the East side of the valley, to seeke pasture for their sheepe.
Ils allèrent jusqu'à l'entrée de Gedor, à l'est de la vallée, pour chercher des pâturages pour leurs troupeaux.
40 And they found fat pasture and good, and a wide land, both quiet and fruitfull: for they of Ham had dwelt there before.
Ils trouvèrent de riches et bons pâturages, et le pays était vaste, tranquille et paisible, car ceux qui habitaient là auparavant descendaient de Cham.
41 And these described by name, came in the dayes of Hezekiah king of Iudah, and smote their tents, and the inhabitants that were found there, and destroyed them vtterly vnto this day, and dwelt in their roume, because there was pasture there for their sheepe.
Ceux dont on a écrit le nom vinrent au temps d'Ézéchias, roi de Juda, et ils frappèrent leurs tentes et les Meunim qui s'y trouvaient; ils les détruisirent entièrement jusqu'à ce jour, et ils habitèrent à leur place, car il y avait là des pâturages pour leurs troupeaux.
42 And besides these, fiue hundreth men of the sonnes of Simeon went to mount Seir, and Pelatiah, and Neariah, and Rophaiah, and Vzziel the sonnes of Ishi were their captaines,
Une partie des fils de Siméon, cinq cents hommes, se rendirent à la montagne de Séir, avec pour chefs Pelatia, Nearia, Rephaja et Uzziel, fils de Jishi.
43 And they smote the rest of Amalek that had escaped, and they dwelt there vnto this day.
Ils frappèrent le reste des Amalécites qui s'étaient échappés, et ils y ont vécu jusqu'à ce jour.
