1 Chronicles 28
1 Nowe Dauid assembled all the princes of Israel: the princes of the tribes, and the captaines of the bandes that serued the King, and the captaines of thousands and the captaines of hundreths, and the rulers of all the substance and possession of the King, and of his sonnes, with the eunuches, and the mightie, and all the men of power, vnto Ierusalem.
Et David assembla tous les chefs d'Israël, les chefs des Tribus et les chefs des Classes, qui étaient au service du roi, et les chefs des milliers et les chefs des centaines et les chefs qui avaient l'intendance de toutes les propriétés et des troupeaux du roi et qui étaient auprès de ses fils, ainsi que les eunuques et les héros et tous les hommes vaillants, à Jérusalem.
2 And King Dauid stoode vp vpon his feete; and saide, Heare ye me, my brethren and my people: I purposed to haue buylt an house of rest for the Arke of the couenant of the Lord, and for a footestoole of our God, and haue made ready for the building,
Et le roi David debout sur ses pieds dit: Écoutez-moi, mes frères et mon peuple! J'avais l'intention de bâtir une maison de repos pour l'Arche d'Alliance de l'Éternel et le marchepied de notre Dieu, et je m'apprêtais à bâtir,
3 But God sayde vnto me, Thou shalt not buylde an house for my Name, because thou hast bene a man of warre, and hast shed blood.
lorsque Dieu me dit: Tu n'élèveras pas de Temple à Mon Nom, parce que tu es un homme de guerre et que tu as fait couler du sang.
4 Yet as the Lord God of Israel chose me before all the house of my father, to be King ouer Israel for euer (for in Iudah woulde he chuse a prince, and of the house of Iudah is the house of my father, and among the sonnes of my father he delited in me to make me King ouer all Israel)
Et l'Éternel, Dieu d'Israël, m'a choisi dans toute la maison de mon père pour être roi d'Israël à jamais; car c'est Juda qu'il a choisi pour prince, et dans la maison de Juda la maison de mon père, et entre les fils de mon père c'est moi qu'il a daigné faire roi de tout Israël;
5 So of all my sonnes (for the Lord hath giuen me many sonnes) he hath euen chosen Salomon my sonne to sit vpon the throne of the kingdome of the Lord ouer Israel.
et entre tous mes fils (car l'Éternel m'a accordé beaucoup de fils). Il a fait choix de mon fils, Salomon, pour s'asseoir sur le trône royal de l'Éternel au-dessus d'Israël.
6 And he sayd vnto me, Salomon thy sonne, he shall build mine house and my courtes: for I haue chosen him to be my sonne, and I will be his father.
Et Il m'a dit: C'est Salomon, ton fils, qui édifiera mon Temple et mes parvis; car je me le suis choisi pour fils et veux être pour lui un père.
7 I will stablish therefore his kingdome for euer, if he endeuour himselfe to do my commandements, and my iudgements, as this day.
Et je consoliderai sa royauté pour l'éternité, s'il tient ferme à l'exécution de mes commandements et de mes arrêts, comme aujourd'hui.
8 Now therefore in the sight of all Israel the Congregation of the Lord, and in the audience of our God, keepe and seeke for all the commandements of the Lord your God, that ye may possesse this good lande, and leaue it for an inheritance for your children after you for euer.
Et maintenant devant les yeux de tout Israël, Assemblée de l'Éternel, et aux oreilles de notre Dieu [je vous adresse cette sommation]: Gardez et étudiez tous les commandements de l'Éternel, votre Dieu, afin de rester possesseurs de l'excellent pays, et de le transmettre à vos fils après vous éternellement.
9 And thou, Salomon my sonne, know thou the God of thy father, and serue him with a perfit heart, and with a willing minde: For the Lord searcheth all hearts, and vnderstandeth all the imaginations of thoughts: if thou seeke him, he will be found of thee, but if thou forsake him, he will cast thee off for euer.
Et toi, mon fils, Salomon, connais le Dieu de ton père et Le sers d'un cœur non partagé et par inclination d'âme, car l'Éternel sonde tous les cœurs et pénètre toute formation de pensées. Si tu Le cherches, Il se laissera trouver par toi, mais si tu L'abandonnes, Il te réprouvera pour toujours.
10 Take heede now, for the Lord hath chosen thee to buylde the house of the Sanctuarie: be strong therefore, and doe it.
Avise donc, puisque l'Éternel t'a choisi pour élever un édifice qui soit un Sanctuaire; courage! et exécute.
11 Then Dauid gaue to Salomon his sonne the paterne of the porch and of the houses thereof, and of the closets thereof, and of the galleries thereof, and of the chambers thereof that are within, and of the house of the mercieseate,
Et David donna à Salomon, son fils, le plan du vestibule et de ses constructions et de ses trésors et de ses chambres hautes et de ses chambres intérieures, et de l'édifice du propitiatoire,
12 And the paterne of all that he had in his minde for the courtes of the house of the Lord, and for all the chambers round about, for the treasures of the house of God, and for the treasures of the dedicate things,
le plan de tout ce qu'il avait dans l'esprit pour les parvis du Temple de l'Éternel, et toutes les cellules du pourtour et les trésors de la maison de Dieu
13 And for the courses of the Priestes, and of the Leuites, and for all the woorke for the seruice of the house of the Lord, and for all the vessels of the ministerie of the house of the Lord.
et les trésors des objets consacrés pour les classes des Prêtres et des Lévites et tout le détail du service dans la maison de l'Éternel, et tous les ustensiles du service dans la maison de l'Éternel;
14 He gaue of golde by weight, for the vessels of gold, for all the vessels of all maner of seruice, and all the vessels of siluer by weight, for all maner vessels of all maner of seruice.
pour les ustensiles d'or, avec le poids pour ce qui serait d'or, pour tous les ustensiles des divers services, et pour tous les ustensiles d'argent, avec le poids pour tous les ustensiles des divers services,
15 The weight also of golde for the candlestickes, and gold for their lampes, with the weight for euery candlesticke, and for the lampes thereof, and for the candlestickes of siluer by the weight of the candlesticke, and the lampes thereof, according to the vse of euery candlesticke,
et pour le poids des candélabres d'or et de leurs lampes d'or avec le poids de chaque candélabre et de ses lampes, et pour les candélabres d'argent avec le poids de chaque candélabre et de ses lampes, selon l'usage de chaque candélabre,
16 And the weight of the gold for the tables of shewbread, for euery table, and siluer for the tables of siluer,
et pour l'or, avec le poids, pour les tables de pains de présentation, pour chaque table, et pour l'argent des tables d'argent;
17 And pure golde for the fleshhookes, and the bowles, and plates, and for basens, golde in weight for euery basen, and for siluer basens, by weight for euery basen,
et pour les fourchettes et les patères et les fioles d'or pur, et pour les coupes d'or avec le poids pour les diverses coupes, et pour les coupes d'argent avec le poids de chaque coupe,
18 And for the altar of incense, pure golde by weight, and golde for the paterne of the charet of the Cherubs that spread themselues, and couered the Arke of the couenant of the Lord:
et pour l'autel aux parfums d'or purifié, avec le poids, et pour le plan du char, des chérubins d'or, de leurs ailes déployées couvrant l'Arche d'Alliance de l'Éternel.
19 All, said he, by writing sent to me by the hand of the Lord, which made me vnderstand all the workemanship of the paterne.
« Tout cela est mis par écrit de par l'Éternel qui m'a instruit de tout le détail du plan. »
20 And Dauid said to Salomon his sonne, Be strong, and of a valiant courage and doe it: feare not, nor be afraide: for the Lord God, euen my God is with thee: he will not leaue thee nor forsake thee till thou hast finished all the worke for the seruice of the house of the Lord.
Et David dit à Salomon, son fils: Courage et fermeté! et exécute sans crainte ni peur, car l'Éternel, Dieu, mon Dieu, est avec toi. Il ne te fera pas défaut et ne te délaissera pas jusqu'à l'achèvement de tout ce qui est a faire pour le service de la maison de l'Éternel.
21 Beholde also, the companies of the Priests and the Leuites for all the seruice of the house of God, euen they shall be with thee for the whole worke, with euery free heart that is skilfull in any maner of seruice. The princes also and all the people will be wholy at thy commandement.
Et tu as ici les classes des Prêtres et des Lévites pour la totalité du service de la maison de Dieu, et pour toute l'œuvre, l'aide de tout autant d'hommes distingués par leur habileté à tout travail, et des chefs et de tout le peuple pour toutes tes affaires.
