< 1 Chronicles 26 >
1 Concerning the diuisions of the porters, of the Korhites, Meshelemiah the sonne of Kore of the sonnes of Asaph.
Concerning the divisions of the gatekeepers [who were] of the Korchites: Meshelemyahu the son of Kore, of the sons of Assaph.
2 And the sonnes of Meshelemiah, Zechariah the eldest, Iediael the seconde, Zebadiah the third, Iathniel the fourth,
And Meshelemyahu had sons: Zecharyahu the first-born, Jedi'ael the second, Zebaiyahu the third, Jathniel the fourth,
3 Elam the fift, Ichohanan the sixt, and Eliehoenai the seuenth.
Elam the fifth, Jehochanan the sixth, Elyeho'enal the seventh,
4 And the sonnes of Obed Edom, Shemaiah the eldest, Iehozabad the second, Ioah the third, and Sacar the fourth, and Nethaneel the fift,
And 'Obed-edom had sons: Shema'yah the first-born, Jehosabad the second, Joach the third, and Sachar the fourth, and Nethanel the fifth,
5 Ammiel the sixt, Issachar the seuenth, Peulthai the eight: for God had blessed him.
'Ammiel the sixth, Issachar the seventh, Pe'ulthai the eighth; for God had blessed him.
6 And to Shemaiah his sonne, were sonnes borne, that ruled in the house of their father, for they were men of might.
Also unto Shema'yah his son there were born sons, that were rulers for the house of their father; for they were mighty men of valor.
7 The sonnes of Shemaiah were Othni, and Rephael, and Obed, Elzabad and his brethren, strong men: Elihu also, and Semachiah.
The sons of Shema'yah were 'Othni, and Rephael, and 'Obed, [and] Elsahad, his brothers [were] valiant men, Elihu, and Semachyahu.
8 All these were of the sonnes of Obed Edom, they and their sonnes and their brethren mightie and strong to serue, euen three score and two of Obed Edom.
All these were of the sons of 'Obed-edom: they and their sons and their brethren were valiant men in strength for the service, being sixty and two [descendants] of 'Obed-edom.
9 And of Meshelemiah sonnes and brethren, eighteene mightie men.
And Meshelemyahu had sons and brethren, valiant men, eighteen.
10 And of Hosah of the sonnes of Merari, the sonnes were Shuri the chiefe, and (though he was not the eldest, yet his father made him the chiefe)
Also Chossah, of the children of Merari, had sons: Shimri the chief, for [though] he was not the first-born, yet his father made him the chief;
11 Helkiah the second, Tebaliah the third, and Zechariah the fourth: all the sonnes and the brethren of Hosa were thirteene.
Chilkiyahu the second, Tehalyahu the third, Zecharyahu the fourth; all the sons and brethren of Chossah were thirteen.
12 Of these were the diuisions of the porters of the chiefe men, hauing the charge against their brethren, to serue in the house of the Lord.
These divisions of the gatekeepers, after the chief men, had the watch along with their brethren, to minister in the house of the Lord.
13 And they cast lottes both small and great for the house of their fathers, for euery gate.
And they cast lots, the small as well as the great, according to their family divisions, for each and every gate.
14 And the lot on the East side fel to Shelemiah: then they cast lottes for Zechariah his sonne a wise couseller, and his lot came out Northward:
And the lot at the east fell for Shelemyahu. And for Zecharyahu his son, an intelligent counsellor, they cast lots, and his lot came out at the north.
15 To Obed Edom Southwarde, and to his sonnes the house of Asuppim:
For 'Obed-edom at the south; and to his sons [was assigned] the house of Assuppim.
16 To Shuppim and to Hosah Westwarde with the gate of Shallecheth by the paued streete that goeth vpward, warde ouer against warde.
For Shuppim and for Chossah at the west, by the gate Shallecheth, on the ascending causeway, watch alongside of watch.
17 Eastward were sixe Leuites, and Northwarde foure a day, and Southward foure a day, and toward Asuppim two and two.
At the east were six Levites, at the north four for every day, at the south four for every day, and for [the house of] Assuppim always two.
18 In Parbar towarde the West were foure by the paued streete, and two in Parbar.
At the Parbar on the west, four at the causeway, and two at the Parbar.
19 These are the diuisions of the porters of the sonnes of Kore, and of the sonnes of Merari.
These are the divisions of the gatekeepers of the sons of the Korchites, and of the sons of Merari.
20 And of the Leuites. Ahiiah was ouer the treasures of the house of God, and ouer the treasures of the dedicate things.
And of the Levites, Achiyah was over the treasuries of the house of God, and over the treasuries of the holy things.
21 Of the sonnes of Laadan the sonnes of the Gershunnites descending of Laadan, the chiefe fathers of Laadan were Gershunni and Iehieli.
[As concerning] the sons of La'dan, the sons of the Gershunites of La'dan, the chiefs of the families of La'dan the Gershunite, were the Jechielites.
22 The sonnes of Iehieli were Zethan and Ioel his brother, appoynted ouer the treasures of the house of the Lord.
The sons of Jechieli, Zetham, and Joel his brother, were over the treasuries of the house of the Lord.
23 Of the Amramites, of the Izharites, of the Hebronites and of the Ozielites.
Of the 'Amramites, of the Yizharites, of the Hebronites, and of the 'Uzzielites,
24 And Shebuel the sonne of Gershom, the sonne of Moses, a ruler ouer the treasures.
[Was] even Shebuel the son of Gershom, the son of Moses, superintendent of the treasuries.
25 And of his brethren which came of Eliezer, was Rehabiah his sonne, and Ieshaiah his sonne, and Ioram his sonne, and Zichri his sonne, and Shelomith his sonne.
And his brethren by Eli'ezer: Rechabyahu his son, and Jesha'yahu his son, and Joram his son, and Zichri his son, and Shelomoth his son.
26 Which Shelomith and his brethren were ouer al the treasures of the dedicate things, which Dauid the King, and the chiefe fathers, the captaines ouer thousands, and hundreths, and the captaines of the armie had dedicated.
This Shelomoth and his brethren were over all the treasuries of the holy things, which king David had sanctified, together with the chiefs of the family divisions, the captains over the thousands and the hundreds, and the captains of the army.
27 (For of the battels and of the spoyles they did dedicate to maintaine the house of the Lord)
Out of the wars, and out of the booty did they sanctify to maintain the house of the Lord.
28 And al that Samuel the Seer had dedicate and Saul the sonne of Kish and Abner the sonne of Ner, and Ioab the sonne of Zeruiah, and whosoeuer had dedicate any thing, it was vnder the hand of Shelomith, and his brethren.
And all that Samuel the seer, and Saul the son of Kish, and Abner the son of Ner, and Joab the son of Zeruyah, had sanctified, whatsoever [any one] had sanctified, was under the supervision of Shelomoth and of his brethren.
29 Of the Izharites was Chenaniah and his sonnes, for the busines without ouer Israel, for officers and for Iudges.
Of the Yizharites were Kenanyahu and his sons for the outward business over Israel, for officers and judges.
30 Of the Hebronites, Ashabiah and his brethren, men of actiuitie, a thousande, and seuen hundreth were officers for Israel beyonde Iorden Westward, in all the busines of the Lord, and for the seruice of the King.
Of the Hebronites were Chashabyahu and his brethren, valiant men, a thousand and seven hundred [in number], appointed over the affairs of Israel on this side of the Jordan to the west, for all the business of the Lord, and for the service of the king.
31 Among the Hebronites was Iediiah the chiefest, euen the Hebronites by his generations according to the families. And in the fourtieth yere of the reigne of Dauid they were sought for: and there were founde among them men of actiuitie at Iazer in Gilead.
Of the Hebronites was Jeriyah the chief, for the Hebronites, according to their generations by families. In the fortieth year of the reign of David were they inquired into, and there were found among them mighty men of valor at Ja'zer of Gil'ad.
32 And his brethren men of actiuitie, two thousand and seuen hundreth chiefe fathers, whom King Dauid made rulers ouer the Reubenites, and the Gadites, and the halfe tribe of Manasseh, for euery matter perteining to God, and for the Kings busines.
And his brethren, valiant men, were two thousand and seven hundred chiefs of families: and king David appointed them over the Reubenites, the Gadites, and the half tribe of Menasseh, for every matter pertaining to God, and the affairs of the king.
