1 Chronicles 24
1 These are also the diuisions of the sonnes of Aaron: The sonnes of Aaron were Nadab, and Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar.
Quant aux fils d’Aaron, voici leurs subdivisions: c’étaient Nadab et Abihou, Eléazar et Ithamar.
2 But Nadab and Abihu died before their father, and had no children: therefore Eleazar and Ithamar executed the Priestes office.
Nadab et Abihou moururent sous les yeux de leur père, sans avoir eu d’enfants, tandis qu’Eléazar et Ithamar remplirent les fonctions de prêtres.
3 And Dauid distributed them, euen Zadok of the sonnes of Eleazar, and Ahimelech of the sonnes of Ithamar according to their offices in their ministration.
David, assisté de Çadok, des descendants d’Eléazar, et d’Ahimélec, des descendants d’Ithamar, les répartit en sections pour leur service.
4 And there were found more of the sonnes of Eleazar by the number of men, then of the sonnes of Ithamar. and they deuided them, to wit, among the sonnes of Eleazar, sixteene heads, according to the houshould of their fathers, and among ye sonnes of Ithamar, according to the housholde of their fathers, eight.
Il se trouva que les fils d’Eléazar comptaient un plus grand nombre de chefs de groupes d’hommes que les fils d’Ithamar; aussi répartit-on les fils d’Eléazar en seize chefs de famille et les fils d’Ithamar en huit chefs de famille.
5 Thus they distributed them by lot the one from the other, and so the rulers of the Sanctuarie and the rulers of the house of God were of the sonnes of Eleazar and of the sonnes of Ithamar.
Pour les uns comme pour les autres, la répartition se fit par la voie du sort, les fils d’Eléazar et les fils d’Ithamar devant fournir les princes du sanctuaire et les princes de Dieu.
6 And Shemaiah the sonne of Nethaneel the scribe of the Leuites, wrote them before ye King and the princes, and Zadok the Priest, and Ahimelech the sonne of Abiathar, and before ye chiefe fathers of the Priests and of the Leuites, one familie being reserued for Eleazar, and another reserued for Ithamar.
Chemaïa, fils de Nethanel de la tribu de Lévi, faisant fonctions de secrétaire, inscrivit leurs noms en présence du roi, des seigneurs, de Çadok le prêtre, d’Ahimélec, fils d’Ebiatar, et des chefs des familles des prêtres et des Lévites: tour à tour une famille était désignée pour Eléazar et une famille pour Ithamar.
7 And the first lot fell to Iehoiarib, and the second to Iedaiah,
Yoïarib fut indiqué le premier par le sort, Yedaïa le second;
8 The third to Harim, the fourth to Seorim,
Harîm le troisième, Seorîm le quatrième,
9 The fifth to Malchiiah, the sixt to Miiamin,
Malkia le cinquième, Miyamîn, le sixième;
10 The seuenth to Hakkoz, the eight to Abiiah,
Hakkoç, le septième, Abia le huitième;
11 The ninth to Ieshua, the tenth to Shecaniah,
Yêchoua le neuvième, Chekhaniahou le dixième;
12 The eleuenth to Eliashib, the twelft to Iakim,
Elyachib le onzième, Yakîm le douzième;
13 The thirteenth to Huppa, the fouretenth to Ieshebeab,
Houppa le treizième, Yéchébab le quatorzième;
14 The fiftenth to Bilgah, the sixtenth to Immer,
Bilga le quinzième, Immêr le seizième;
15 The seuententh to Hezir, the eightenth to Happizzer,
Hézir le dix-septième, Happicêç le dix-huitième;
16 The ninetenth to Pethahiah, the twentieth to Iehezekel,
Petahia le dix-neuvième, Ezéchiel le vingtième;
17 The one and twentie to Iachin, the two and twentie to Gamul,
Yakhîn le vingt-unième, Gamoul le vingt-deuxième;
18 The three and twentie to Deliah, the foure and twentie to Maaziah.
Delaïahou le vingt-troisième, Maaziahou le vingt-quatrième.
19 These were their orders according to their offices, when they entred into the house of the Lord according to their custome vnder the hande of Aaron their father, as the Lord God of Israel had commanded him.
Tel fut leur sectionnement quant au service qui leur incombait d’entrer dans la maison du Seigneur, conformément aux règles suivies par Aaron, leur père, telles que l’Eternel, Dieu d’lsraêl, les lui avait prescrites:
20 And of the sonnes of Leui that remained of the sonnes of Amram, was Shubael, of the sonnes of Shubael, Iedeiah,
Quant au reste des enfants de Lévi, ce furent: pour les fils d’Amram: Choubaël; pour les fils de Choubaël: Yéhdeyahou;
21 Of Rehabiah. euen of the sonnes of Rehabiah, the first Isshiiah,
pour Rehabiahou: les fils de Rehabiahou avaient pour chef Yichia,
22 Of Izhari, Shelomoth, of the sonnes of Shelomoth, Iahath,
pour les Yiçharites: Chelomot; pour les fils de Chelomot: Yahat;
23 And his sonnes Ieriah the first, Amariah the second, Iahaziel the thirde, and Iekameam the fourth,
et pour les fils de Hébron: Yeriahou le chef, Amariahou le second, Yahaziël le troisième, Yekameâm le quatrième;
24 The sonne of Vzziel was Michah, ye sonne of Michah was Shamir,
pour les fils d’Ouzziël, Mikha; pour les fils de Mikha: Chamir.
25 The brother of Michah was Isshiiah, the sonne of Isshiiah, Zechariah,
Le frère de Mikha était Yichia; pour les fils de Yichia: Zekhariahou.
26 The sonnes of Merari, were Mahli and Mushi, the sonne of Iaaziiah was Beno,
Fils de Merari: Mahli et Mouchi; les fils de Yaaziahou son fils,
27 The sonnes of Merari of Iahaziah were Beno, and Shoham, and Zaccur and Ibri.
c’est-à-dire les descendants de Merari, par son fils Yaaziahou, étaient Choham, Zaccour et Ibri.
28 Of Mahli came Eleazar, which had no sonnes.
Fils de Mahli: Eléazar, qui n’eut pas de fils.
29 Of Kish. the sonne of Kish was Ierahmeel,
Quant à Kich, les fils de Kich furent Yerahmeêl.
30 And the sonnes of Mushi were Mahli, and Eder, and Ierimoth: these were sonnes of the Leuites after the houshold of their fathers.
Fils de Mouchi: Mahli, Eder, Yerêmot. Voilà quels furent les Lévites, selon leurs familles paternelles.
31 And these also cast lots with their brethren the sonnes of Aaron before King Dauid, and Zadok and Ahimelech and the chiefe fathers of the Priests, and of the Leuites, euen the chiefe of the families against their yonger brethren.
Eux aussi recoururent à la voie du sort tout comme leurs frères, les fils d’Aaron, en présence du roi David, de Çadok, d’Ahimélec et des chefs des familles des prêtres et des Lévites, chaque chef de famille principal étant assimilé à son frère plus jeune.
