1 Chronicles 22
1 And Dauid saide, This is the house of the Lord God, and this is the altar for the burnt offring of Israel.
Đa-vít tuyên bố: “Đây sẽ là Đền Thờ của Đức Chúa Trời và là bàn thờ để Ít-ra-ên dâng tế lễ thiêu!”
2 And Dauid commanded to gather together the strangers that were in the lande of Israel, and he set masons to hewe and polish stones to builde the house of God.
Đa-vít ra lệnh tập họp các ngoại kiều đang ở trong đất nước Ít-ra-ên, và cắt đặt các thợ chẻ đá để xây cất Đền Thờ Đức Chúa Trời.
3 Dauid also prepared much yron for the nayles of the doores and of the gates, and for the ioynings, and abundance of brasse passing weight,
Đa-vít cung cấp đủ thứ vật liệu: Một số lượng sắt dồi dào để làm đinh, bản lề, và rất nhiều đồng đến nỗi không thể cân hết được.
4 And cedar trees without nomber: for the Zidonians and they of Tyrus brought much cedar wood to Dauid.
Ông còn cho thêm gỗ bá hương nhiều vô kể mà người Si-đôn và Ty-rơ chở đến cho Đa-vít cách dư dật.
5 And Dauid saide, Salomon my sonne is yong and tender, and we must builde an house for the Lord, magnificall, excellent and of great fame and dignitie throughout all countreyes. I will therefore nowe prepare for him. So Dauid prepared very much before his death.
Đa-vít thưa với Chúa: “Sa-lô-môn, con trai con, hãy còn thơ dại, mà Đền Thờ xây cất cho Chúa Hằng Hữu phải vĩ đại, nguy nga, đẹp đẽ nhất trên thế gian. Vậy, con xin Chúa cho phép con chuẩn bị cho công trình kiến thiết này.” Vậy, Đa-vít tồn trữ vật liệu thật dồi dào trước ngày qua đời.
6 Then he called Salomon his sonne, and charged him to builde an house for the Lord God of Israel.
Đa-vít cho gọi con trai là Sa-lô-môn đến và truyền bảo Sa-lô-môn xây cất Đền Thờ cho Chúa Hằng Hữu, Đức Chúa Trời của Ít-ra-ên.
7 And Dauid said to Salomon, My sonne, I purposed with my selfe to builde an house to the Name of the Lord my God,
Đa-vít nói với Sa-lô-môn: “Con ạ! Cha dự định xây cất một Đền Thờ cho Chúa Hằng Hữu, Đức Chúa Trời của cha,
8 But the worde of the Lord came to me, saying, Thou hast shed much blood, and hast made great battels: thou shalt not builde an house vnto my Name: for thou hast shead much blood vpon the earth in my sight.
nhưng Chúa Hằng Hữu phán bảo cha: ‘Ngươi đã làm máu chảy nhiều trong các trận chiến lớn, vì thế, ngươi không được cất Đền Thờ cho Danh Ta.
9 Beholde, a sonne is borne to thee, which shalbe a man of rest, for I will giue him rest from all his enemies rounde about: therefore his name is Salomon: and I will sende peace and quietnes vpon Israel in his dayes.
Nhưng con trai ruột ngươi sẽ là người hiếu hòa, Ta sẽ cho nó hưởng thái bình. Các nước thù nghịch chung quanh sẽ không tấn công vào nước nó. Tên nó là Sa-lô-môn, và Ta sẽ cho Ít-ra-ên hưởng thái bình suốt đời nó.
10 Hee shall builde an house for my Name, and he shalbe my sonne, and I will be his father, and I will establish the throne of his kingdome vpon Israel for euer.
Chính nó sẽ xây cất Đền Thờ cho Danh Ta. Nó sẽ là con Ta và Ta sẽ là cha nó. Ta sẽ củng cố ngôi nước nó trên Ít-ra-ên mãi mãi.’
11 Nowe therefore my sonne, the Lord shalbe with thee, and thou shalt prosper, and thou shalt builde an house to the Lord thy God, as he hath spoken of thee.
Con ơi, bây giờ cầu xin Chúa Hằng Hữu ở cùng con và giúp con thành công. Con sẽ xây cất Đền Thờ Chúa Hằng Hữu, Đức Chúa Trời của con, đúng như lời Ngài phán dặn.
12 Onely the Lord giue thee wisedome and vnderstanding, and giue thee charge ouer Israel, euen to keepe the Lawe of the Lord thy God.
Cầu Chúa Hằng Hữu ban cho con đủ khôn ngoan và hiểu biết, giúp con lãnh đạo quốc dân, để con vâng giữ Luật của Chúa Hằng Hữu, Đức Chúa Trời con.
13 Then thou shalt prosper, if thou take heede to obserue the statutes and the iudgements which the Lord commanded Moses for Israel: be strong and of good courage: feare not, neither bee afraide.
Nếu con cẩn thận tuân hành luật pháp và mệnh lệnh Chúa Hằng Hữu đã truyền cho Ít-ra-ên qua Môi-se, thì con sẽ thành công rực rỡ. Con hãy bền tâm vững chí; đừng sợ sệt kinh hãi!
14 For beholde, according to my pouertie haue I prepared for the house of the Lord an hundreth thousand talents of golde, and a thousand thousande talents of siluer, and of brasse and of yron passing weight: for there was abundance: I haue also prepared timber and stone, and thou mayest prouide more thereto.
Cha đã chịu biết bao gian khổ để thu trữ cho việc xây cất Đền Thờ cho Chúa Hằng Hữu—gần 4.000 tấn vàng và 40.000 tấn bạc, vô số đồng, sắt, với một số lớn gỗ và đá, nhưng con cũng cần đóng góp thêm.
15 Moreouer thou hast workmen with thee enough, hewers of stone, and workemen for timber, and all men expert in euery worke.
Hơn nữa, con có đầy đủ nhân công, thợ đá, thợ nề, thợ mộc, và chuyên viên đủ các ngành,
16 Of golde, of siluer, and of brasse, and of yron there is no nomber: Vp therefore, and be doing, and the Lord wilbe with thee.
và vô số vàng, bạc, đồng, sắt. Hãy bắt tay vào việc thì Chúa Hằng Hữu sẽ ở cùng con!”
17 Dauid also commanded all the princes of Israel to helpe Salomon his sonne, saying,
Vua Đa-vít cũng dặn các đại thần trong triều hết lòng ủng hộ Sa-lô-môn, con mình:
18 Is not the Lord your God with you, and hath giuen you rest on euerie side? for hee hath giuen the inhabitants of the land into mine hand, and the land is subdued before the Lord and before his people.
“Đức Chúa Trời Hằng Hữu ở với các ngươi, ban cho các ngươi sự thái bình với các nước lân bang. Tất cả dân tộc trong nước đều suy phục ta, toàn quốc đều phục Chúa Hằng Hữu và dân Ngài.
19 Nowe set your hearts and your soules to seeke the Lord your God, and arise, and builde the Sanctuarie of the Lord God to bring the Arke of the couenant of the Lord, and the holy vessels of God into the house built for the Name of the Lord.
Vậy, bây giờ hãy hết lòng, hết ý tìm cầu Chúa Hằng Hữu, Đức Chúa Trời của các ngươi. Hãy xây cất Đền Thánh cho Đức Chúa Trời Hằng Hữu, để rước Hòm Giao Ước của Chúa Hằng Hữu, và các dụng cụ thánh của Đức Chúa Trời, vào Đền Thờ được xây vì Danh Chúa Hằng Hữu.”
