1 Chronicles 22
1 And Dauid saide, This is the house of the Lord God, and this is the altar for the burnt offring of Israel.
Et David dit: C'est ici la maison du Seigneur, et voici l'autel des holocaustes pour Israël.
2 And Dauid commanded to gather together the strangers that were in the lande of Israel, and he set masons to hewe and polish stones to builde the house of God.
Puis, il ordonna de réunir tous les étrangers qui se trouvaient en la terre d'Israël, et il chargea des tailleurs de pierres de tailler des pierres, pour bâtir la maison de Dieu.
3 Dauid also prepared much yron for the nayles of the doores and of the gates, and for the ioynings, and abundance of brasse passing weight,
Et David prépara beaucoup de fer, des clous pour les portes et leurs vantaux, des gonds et une quantité d'airain d'un poids incalculable,
4 And cedar trees without nomber: for the Zidonians and they of Tyrus brought much cedar wood to Dauid.
Et un nombre infini de cèdres que les Tyriens et les Sidoniens lui apportèrent.
5 And Dauid saide, Salomon my sonne is yong and tender, and we must builde an house for the Lord, magnificall, excellent and of great fame and dignitie throughout all countreyes. I will therefore nowe prepare for him. So Dauid prepared very much before his death.
Et David dit: Mon fils Salomon est d'âge tendre, et la maison qui doit être bâtie au Seigneur surpassera en magnificence, en renom et en gloire, toutes celles de la terre; je préparerai tout pour cela. Et David fit ses apprêts à profusion avant de mourir.
6 Then he called Salomon his sonne, and charged him to builde an house for the Lord God of Israel.
Et il appela Salomon, son fils, et il lui ordonna de bâtir le temple du Seigneur Dieu d'Israël.
7 And Dauid said to Salomon, My sonne, I purposed with my selfe to builde an house to the Name of the Lord my God,
Et David dit à Salomon: Enfant, mon âme a voulu bâtir un temple au nom du Seigneur Dieu.
8 But the worde of the Lord came to me, saying, Thou hast shed much blood, and hast made great battels: thou shalt not builde an house vnto my Name: for thou hast shead much blood vpon the earth in my sight.
Mais la parole du Seigneur est venue à moi, disant: Tu as versé beaucoup de sang, tu as fait de grandes guerres; tu ne bâtiras point un temple à mon nom, parce que, devant moi, tu as répandu beaucoup de sang sur cette terre.
9 Beholde, a sonne is borne to thee, which shalbe a man of rest, for I will giue him rest from all his enemies rounde about: therefore his name is Salomon: and I will sende peace and quietnes vpon Israel in his dayes.
Voici qu'un fils t'est né; celui-là sera un homme de paix, et je le maintiendrai en paix avec tous les ennemis qui l'entourent; car son nom est Salomon, et j'accorderai, pendant sa vie, le repos et la paix à Israël.
10 Hee shall builde an house for my Name, and he shalbe my sonne, and I will be his father, and I will establish the throne of his kingdome vpon Israel for euer.
C'est lui qui bâtira un temple à mon nom, et il sera pour moi un fils, et moi je serai pour lui un père, et je dresserai son trône royal en Israël pour toujours.
11 Nowe therefore my sonne, the Lord shalbe with thee, and thou shalt prosper, and thou shalt builde an house to the Lord thy God, as he hath spoken of thee.
Maintenant, mon fils, le Seigneur sera avec toi; il te fera prospérer, et tu bâtiras le temple du Seigneur ton Dieu, comme il me l'a fait savoir.
12 Onely the Lord giue thee wisedome and vnderstanding, and giue thee charge ouer Israel, euen to keepe the Lawe of the Lord thy God.
Que le Seigneur te donne seulement l'intelligence et la sagesse, et il t'affermira sur Israël, pour que tu observes et que tu mettes en pratique la loi du Seigneur ton Dieu.
13 Then thou shalt prosper, if thou take heede to obserue the statutes and the iudgements which the Lord commanded Moses for Israel: be strong and of good courage: feare not, neither bee afraide.
Alors, il te fera prospérer, si tu veilles à observer les commandements et les préceptes que le Seigneur a donnés au peuple par la voix de Moïse. Sois fort, et agis en homme; n'aie ni crainte ni faiblesse.
14 For beholde, according to my pouertie haue I prepared for the house of the Lord an hundreth thousand talents of golde, and a thousand thousande talents of siluer, and of brasse and of yron passing weight: for there was abundance: I haue also prepared timber and stone, and thou mayest prouide more thereto.
Vois, dans ma pauvreté, j'ai préparé pour la maison du Seigneur: cent mille talents d'or, un million de talents d'argent, de l'airain et du fer en telle abondance, qu'on n'en peut dire le compte. J'ai aussi préparé des bois et des pierres, et tu y ajouteras encore,
15 Moreouer thou hast workmen with thee enough, hewers of stone, and workemen for timber, and all men expert in euery worke.
Et tu t'adjoindras une multitude d'ouvriers, artisans, tailleurs de pierres, charpentiers, et tout homme habile à mettre en œuvre
16 Of golde, of siluer, and of brasse, and of yron there is no nomber: Vp therefore, and be doing, and the Lord wilbe with thee.
L'or, l'argent, et une masse innombrable d'airain et de fer. Courage donc, et agis, le Seigneur sera avec toi.
17 Dauid also commanded all the princes of Israel to helpe Salomon his sonne, saying,
Ensuite, David ordonna à tous les chefs d'Israël de seconder Salomon, son fils, et il leur dit:
18 Is not the Lord your God with you, and hath giuen you rest on euerie side? for hee hath giuen the inhabitants of the land into mine hand, and the land is subdued before the Lord and before his people.
Le Seigneur n'est-il pas avec vous? Il vous a donné le repos tout alentour; il vous a livré ceux qui habitaient la terre promise, et la terre s'est soumise devant le Seigneur et devant son peuple.
19 Nowe set your hearts and your soules to seeke the Lord your God, and arise, and builde the Sanctuarie of the Lord God to bring the Arke of the couenant of the Lord, and the holy vessels of God into the house built for the Name of the Lord.
Appliquez-vous donc, cœur et âme, à chercher le Seigneur, excitez-vous, et bâtissez pour votre Dieu un lieu saint, afin d'y transporter l'arche de l'alliance du Seigneur, avec les vases et les ornements consacrés à Dieu, qui résideront dans le temple élevé au nom du Seigneur.
