1 Chronicles 21
1 And Satan stoode vp against Israel, and prouoked Dauid to nomber Israel.
சாத்தான் இஸ்ரயேலருக்கு எதிராக எழும்பி, இஸ்ரயேலரைக் கணக்கிடும்படி தாவீதைத் தூண்டினான்.
2 Therefore Dauid said to Ioab, and to the rulers of the people, Go, and nomber Israel from Beer-sheba euen to Dan, and bring it to me, that I may knowe the nomber of them.
எனவே தாவீது யோவாபிடமும், படைத் தலைவர்களிடமும், “நீங்கள் போய் பெயெர்செபா தொடங்கி தாண்வரை இருக்கும் இஸ்ரயேலரைக் கணக்கிடுங்கள். எத்தனைபேர் அங்கேயிருக்கிறார்கள் என்பதை நான் அறிந்துகொள்வதற்காக எனக்கு அதை அறிவியுங்கள்” என்றான்.
3 And Ioab answered, The Lord increase his people an hundreth times so many as they be, O my lord the King: are they not all my lords seruats? wherefore doeth my lord require this thing? why should he be a cause of trespasse to Israel?
ஆனால் யோவாப் அவனிடம், “யெகோவா தனது இராணுவவீரரை இப்போது இருப்பதைவிட நூறுமடங்காகப் பெருகச்செய்வாராக. என் தலைவனாகிய அரசனே, அவர்கள் எல்லோரும் எனது தலைவரின் குடிமக்கள் அல்லவா? எனது தலைவர் ஏன் இதைச் செய்ய விரும்புகிறீர்? இஸ்ரயேலின்மேல் இந்தக் குற்றப்பழியை ஏன் கொண்டுவருகிறீர்?” என்று பதிலளித்தான்.
4 Neuerthelesse the Kings word preuailed against Ioab. And Ioab departed and went thorowe all Israel, and returned to Ierusalem.
ஆனால் அரசனின் வார்த்தையோ யோவாப்பை மேற்கொண்டது. எனவே யோவாப் அவ்விடத்தை விட்டுப்போய் இஸ்ரயேல் முழுவதும் சுற்றித்திரிந்து எருசலேமுக்குத் திரும்பிவந்தான்.
5 And Ioab gaue the nomber and summe of the people vnto Dauid: and all Israel were eleuen hundreth thousande men that drewe sword: and Iudah was foure hundreth and seuentie thousande men that drewe sword.
யோவாப் தாவீதிடம் போர்செய்யும் வீரர்களின் எண்ணிக்கையைத் தெரிவித்தான். இஸ்ரயேலில் வாளேந்தும் வீரர்கள் பதினொரு இலட்சம்பேரும், யூதாவில் நாலு இலட்சத்து எழுபதாயிரம்பேரும் இருந்தனர்.
6 But the Leuites and Beniamin counted he not among them: for the Kings worde was abominable to Ioab.
அரசனின் கட்டளை யோவாபுக்கு வெறுப்பூட்டியதனால், அவன் லேவியரையும், பென்யமீனியரையும் கணக்கெடுப்பில் சேர்த்துக்கொள்ளவில்லை.
7 And God was displeased with this thing: therefore he smote Israel.
இக்கட்டளை இறைவனுக்கு ஏற்காததாய் இருந்தபடியால் அவர் இஸ்ரயேலைத் தண்டித்தார்.
8 Then Dauid saide vnto God, I haue sinned greatly, because I haue done this thing: but now, I beseech thee, remooue the iniquitie of thy seruant: for I haue done very foolishly.
அப்பொழுது தாவீது இறைவனிடம், “நான் இதைச் செய்தபடியால் பெரும் பாவம் செய்தேன். இப்பொழுதும் உமது அடியவனின் இந்தக் குற்றத்தை நீக்கிவிடும். நான் மகா புத்தியீனமான செயலைச் செய்தேன்” என மன்றாடினான்.
9 And the Lord spake vnto Gad Dauids Seer, saying,
யெகோவா தாவீதின் தரிசனக்காரனான காத்திடம்,
10 Goe and tell Dauid, saying, Thus saith the Lord, I offer thee three thinges: choose thee one of them, that I may doe it vnto thee.
“நீ போய் தாவீதிடம், ‘யெகோவா சொல்வது இதுவே: நான் உனக்கு மூன்று காரியங்களை உனக்குமுன் வைக்கிறேன். நான் உனக்கு எதிராகச் செயல்படுத்தும்படி அவற்றில் ஒன்றைத் தெரிந்துகொள்’ என்று சொல்” என்றார்.
11 So Gad came to Dauid, and sayde vnto him, Thus saith the Lord, Take to thee
எனவே காத் தாவீதிடம்போய், “யெகோவா சொல்வது இதுவே: யெகோவா உனக்குமுன் வைக்கும் இந்த மூன்றிலிருந்து ஏதாவது ஒன்றைத் தெரிந்துகொள்.
12 Either three yeeres famine, or three moneths to be destroyed before thine aduersaries, and the sworde of thine enemies to take thee, or els the sworde of the Lord and pestilence in the lande three dayes, that the Angel of the Lord may destroy throughout all the coastes of Israel: nowe therefore aduise thee, what word I shall bring againe to him that sent me.
அதாவது, மூன்று வருடங்கள் பஞ்சம் வரும்; அல்லது மூன்று மாதங்கள் எதிரிகளினால் துரத்தப்பட்டு, அவர்களுடைய வாள் உங்களை மேற்கொள்ளும்; அல்லது மூன்று நாட்கள் யெகோவாவின் வாள், கொள்ளைநோயான இது இஸ்ரயேலின் ஒவ்வொரு பகுதியிலும் யெகோவாவின் வாளேந்தும் தூதனால் அழிவாக வரும். எனவே இப்பொழுது என்னை அனுப்பினவருக்கு நான் பதில்சொல்வதற்கு நீ தீர்மானித்துச் சொல்” என்றான்.
13 And Dauid said vnto Gad, I am in a wonderfull strait. let me nowe fall into the hande of the Lord: for his mercies are exceeding great, and let me not fall into the hande of man.
தாவீது காத்திடம், “நான் இப்பொழுது பெரிய இக்கட்டில் அகப்பட்டிருக்கிறேன்; யெகோவா மிகவும் இரக்கமுடையவராகையால் நான் அவர் கையில் சரணடைவதையே விரும்புகிறேன். நான் மனிதர் கையில் விழாமல் இருக்கவேண்டும்” என்றான்.
14 So the Lord sent a pestilence in Israel, and there fell of Israel seuentie thousande men.
எனவே யெகோவா இஸ்ரயேலில் கொள்ளைநோயை வரப்பண்ணினார். அதனால் எழுபதாயிரம் இஸ்ரயேல் மக்கள் இறந்தனர்.
15 And God sent the Angel into Ierusalem to destroy it. And as he was destroying, the Lord behelde, and repented of the euill and sayde to the Angel that destroyed, It is nowe ynough, let thine hande cease. Then the Angel of the Lord stoode by the thresshing floore of Ornan the Iebusite.
அதோடு எருசலேமையும் அழிப்பதற்கு இறைவன் ஒரு தூதனை அனுப்பினார். ஆனாலும் தூதன் அழிக்கத் தொடங்கினவுடனேயே அவர்களுக்கேற்பட்ட அந்த பேரழிவைக்கண்டு யெகோவா மனதுருகினார். எனவே யெகோவா அழிக்கும் தூதனிடம், “போதும்! உன் கையை எடு” என்று சொன்னார். அப்பொழுது யெகோவாவினுடைய தூதன் எபூசியனான ஒர்னானின் சூடடிக்கும் களத்தில் நின்றான்.
16 And Dauid lift vp his eyes, and sawe the Angel of the Lord stande betweene the earth and the heauen with his sworde drawen in his hand, and stretched out towarde Ierusalem. Then Dauid and the Elders of Israel, which were clothed in sacke, fell vpon their faces.
தாவீது மேலே பார்த்தபோது, யெகோவாவின் தூதன் தனது உருவிய வாளை எருசலேமுக்கு மேலாக நீட்டியபடி, வானத்திற்கும் பூமிக்கும் இடையில் நிற்கக் கண்டான். அப்பொழுது தாவீதும், முதியவர்களும் துக்கவுடை உடுத்தி, யெகோவாவுக்குமுன் தரையில் முகங்குப்புற விழுந்தனர்.
17 And Dauid said vnto God, Is it not I that commanded to nomber the people? It is euen I that haue sinned and haue committed euil, but these sheepe what haue they done? O Lord my God, I beseech thee, let thine hande be on me and on my fathers house, and not on thy people for their destruction.
தாவீது இறைவனிடம், “இராணுவவீரரைக் கணக்கிடும்படி கட்டளையிட்டவன் நான் அல்லவா? செய்யத்தகாததைச் செய்து பாவம் செய்தவன் நான்தானே! இந்த ஆடுகள் செய்தது என்ன? என் இறைவனாகிய யெகோவாவே, உம்முடைய கை எனக்கும் என் குடும்பத்திற்கும் விரோதமாய் இருக்கட்டும். இந்தக் கொள்ளைநோய் உமது மக்கள்மேல் இராதபடி செய்யும்” என மன்றாடினான்.
18 Then the Angel of the Lord commanded Gad to say to Dauid, that Dauid should goe vp, and set vp an altar vnto the Lord in the thresshing floore of Ornan the Iebusite.
அப்பொழுது யெகோவாவின் தூதன், எபூசியனான ஒர்னானின் சூடடிக்கும் களத்திற்குப் போய் அங்கே யெகோவாவுக்கு ஒரு பலிபீடத்தைக் கட்டும்படி தாவீதுக்கு சொல் என காத்திற்குக் கட்டளையிட்டார்.
19 So Dauid went vp according to the saying of Gad, which he had spoken in the Name of the Lord.
எனவே யெகோவாவின் பெயரால் காத் கூறியவற்றிக்குத் தாவீது கீழ்ப்படிந்தான்.
20 And Ornan turned about, and sawe the Angel, and his foure sonnes, that were with him, hid them selues, and Ornan thresshed wheat.
அந்நேரத்தில் ஒர்னான் கோதுமையை சூடடித்துக் கொண்டிருந்தான். ஒர்னான் திரும்பிப் பார்த்தபோது தூதனைக் கண்டான்; அவனோடிருந்த அவனுடைய நான்கு மகன்களும் ஒளிந்துகொண்டனர்.
21 And as Dauid came to Ornan, Ornan looked and sawe Dauid, and went out of the thresshing floore, and bowed himselfe to Dauid with his face to the grounde.
தாவீது தன்னிடம் வருவதை ஒர்னான் கண்டபோது, உடனே அவன் சூடடிக்கும் களத்தை விட்டுப்போய் தாவீதுக்கு முன்னால் முகங்குப்புற விழுந்து வணங்கினான்.
22 And Dauid saide to Ornan, Giue me the place of thy thresshing floore, that I may builde an altar therein vnto the Lord: giue it me for sufficient money, that the plague may be stayed from the people.
தாவீது ஒர்னானிடம், “கொள்ளைநோய் மக்களைவிட்டு நீங்கும்படியாக, நான் யெகோவாவுக்கு ஒரு பலிபீடம் கட்டுவதற்கு உன்னுடைய சூடடிக்கும் களத்தை கொடு. அதன் முழு விலையையும் நான் உனக்குத் தருகிறேன்” என்றான்.
23 Then Ornan saide vnto Dauid, Take it to thee, and let my lord the King do that which seemeth him good: loe, I giue thee bullockes for burnt offrings, and thresshing instruments for wood, and wheat for meate offring, I giue it all.
அதற்கு ஒர்னான் தாவீதிடம், “எனது தலைவனாகிய அரசர் அதை எடுத்து அவரது விருப்பப்படியெல்லாம் செய்வாராக. நான் தகனபலிக்குக் காளையையும், விறகிற்கு மரத்தாலான சூடடிக்கும் உருளைகளையும், தானிய காணிக்கைக்காக கோதுமையையும் தருவேன். இவை எல்லாவற்றையும் நான் தருவேன்” என்றான்.
24 And King Dauid saide to Ornan, Not so: but I will bye it for sufficient money: for I wil not take that which is thine for the Lord, nor offer burnt offrings without cost.
ஆனால் தாவீது அரசன் ஒர்னானிடம், “அப்படியல்ல, நான் முழு விலையையும் தருவேன். நான் யெகோவாவுக்கு உன்னிடத்திலிருந்து உன்னுடைய எதையும் எடுக்கவோ, நான் செலவு செய்யாமல் ஒரு காணிக்கையைப் பலியிடவோ மாட்டேன்” என்றான்.
25 So Dauid gaue to Ornan for that place sixe hundreth shekels of golde by weight.
எனவே, தாவீது அந்த இடத்தின் மதிப்புக்குரிய அறுநூறு சேக்கல் நிறையுள்ள தங்கத்தை ஒர்னானுக்குக் கொடுத்தான்.
26 And Dauid built there an altar vnto the Lord, and offred burnt offrings, and peace offrings, and called vpon the Lord, and he answered him by fire from heauen vpon the altar of burnt offring.
அங்கே தாவீது அந்த இடத்தில் ஒரு பலிபீடத்தைக் கட்டி, அதில் யெகோவாவுக்கு தகன காணிக்கைகளையும், சமாதான காணிக்கைகளையும் செலுத்தினான். அவன் யெகோவாவைக் கூப்பிட்டான். அப்போது யெகோவா வானத்திலிருந்து நெருப்பை தகனபலிபீடத்தில் இறங்கப்பண்ணி அவனுக்குப் பதிலளித்தார்.
27 And when the Lord had spoken to the Angel, he put vp his sworde againe into his sheath.
அப்போது யெகோவா தூதனிடம் பேசினார். அவன் தனது வாளை உறையில் போட்டான்.
28 At that time when Dauid sawe that the Lord had heard him in the thresshing floore of Ornan the Iebusite, then he sacrificed there.
அந்த நேரத்தில் எபூசியனான ஒர்னானின் சூடடிக்கும் களத்தில் தனக்கு யெகோவா பதிலளித்ததால், தாவீது அங்கேயே பலிகளைச் செலுத்தினான்.
29 (But the Tabernacle of the Lord which Moses had made in the wildernesse, and the altar of burnt offring were at that season in the hie place at Gibeon.
மோசே பாலைவனத்தில் கட்டிய யெகோவாவின் கூடாரமும், தகன பலிசெலுத்தும் பலிபீடமும் அந்நாட்களில் கிபியோனின் மேட்டில் இருந்தது.
30 And Dauid could not go before it to aske counsel at God: for he was afraide of the sworde of the Angel of the Lord.)
யெகோவாவின் தூதனின் வாளுக்குத் தாவீது பயந்ததினால், இறைவனிடம் விசாரிக்கும்படி அந்த பலிபீடத்திற்குமுன் போகமுடியவில்லை.
