1 Chronicles 21
1 And Satan stoode vp against Israel, and prouoked Dauid to nomber Israel.
Mas Satanás se levantó contra Israel, e incitó a David a que contase a Israel.
2 Therefore Dauid said to Ioab, and to the rulers of the people, Go, and nomber Israel from Beer-sheba euen to Dan, and bring it to me, that I may knowe the nomber of them.
Y dijo David a Joab y a los príncipes del pueblo: Id, contád a Israel desde Beer-seba hasta Dan, y traédme el número de ellos, para que yo lo sepa.
3 And Ioab answered, The Lord increase his people an hundreth times so many as they be, O my lord the King: are they not all my lords seruats? wherefore doeth my lord require this thing? why should he be a cause of trespasse to Israel?
Y dijo Joab: Añada Jehová a su pueblo cien veces otros tantos. Rey señor mío: ¿no son todos estos siervos de mi señor? ¿Para qué procura esto mi señor? ¿Para qué sea por pecado a Israel?
4 Neuerthelesse the Kings word preuailed against Ioab. And Ioab departed and went thorowe all Israel, and returned to Ierusalem.
Mas el mandamiento del rey pudo más que Joab: y salió Joab, y fue por todo Israel; y volvió a Jerusalem, y dio Joab la cuenta del número del pueblo a David.
5 And Ioab gaue the nomber and summe of the people vnto Dauid: and all Israel were eleuen hundreth thousande men that drewe sword: and Iudah was foure hundreth and seuentie thousande men that drewe sword.
Y fue todo Israel que sacaban espada once veces cien mil: y de Judá cuatrocientos y setenta mil hombres que sacaban espada.
6 But the Leuites and Beniamin counted he not among them: for the Kings worde was abominable to Ioab.
Entre estos no fueron contados los Levitas, ni los hijos de Ben-jamín, porque Joab abominaba el mandamiento del rey.
7 And God was displeased with this thing: therefore he smote Israel.
Este negocio desplugo en los ojos de Dios; e hirió a Israel.
8 Then Dauid saide vnto God, I haue sinned greatly, because I haue done this thing: but now, I beseech thee, remooue the iniquitie of thy seruant: for I haue done very foolishly.
Y dijo David a Dios: Yo he pecado gravemente en hacer esto, ruégote que hagas pasar la iniquidad de tu siervo; porque yo he obrado con grandísima insensatez.
9 And the Lord spake vnto Gad Dauids Seer, saying,
Y habló Jehová a Gad, vidente de David, diciendo:
10 Goe and tell Dauid, saying, Thus saith the Lord, I offer thee three thinges: choose thee one of them, that I may doe it vnto thee.
Vé, y habla a David, y díle: Así dijo Jehová: Tres cosas te propongo: de estas escoge una que yo haga contigo.
11 So Gad came to Dauid, and sayde vnto him, Thus saith the Lord, Take to thee
Y viniendo Gad a David díjole: Así dijo Jehová:
12 Either three yeeres famine, or three moneths to be destroyed before thine aduersaries, and the sworde of thine enemies to take thee, or els the sworde of the Lord and pestilence in the lande three dayes, that the Angel of the Lord may destroy throughout all the coastes of Israel: nowe therefore aduise thee, what word I shall bring againe to him that sent me.
Tómate, o tres años de hambre; o que tres meses seas consumido delante de tus enemigos, y que la espada de tus adversarios te comprenda; o tres días la espada de Jehová, y pestilencia en la tierra, y que el ángel de Jehová destruya en todo el término de Israel: mira pues que responderé, al que me ha enviado.
13 And Dauid said vnto Gad, I am in a wonderfull strait. let me nowe fall into the hande of the Lord: for his mercies are exceeding great, and let me not fall into the hande of man.
Entonces David dijo a Gad: Yo estoy en grande angustia: ruego que yo caiga en la mano de Jehová, porque sus miseraciones son muchas en gran manera, y que yo no caiga en mano de hombres.
14 So the Lord sent a pestilence in Israel, and there fell of Israel seuentie thousande men.
Así Jehová dio pestilencia en Israel, y cayeron de Israel setenta mil hombres.
15 And God sent the Angel into Ierusalem to destroy it. And as he was destroying, the Lord behelde, and repented of the euill and sayde to the Angel that destroyed, It is nowe ynough, let thine hande cease. Then the Angel of the Lord stoode by the thresshing floore of Ornan the Iebusite.
Y envió Jehová el ángel en Jerusalem para destruirla: y destruyendo él, miró Jehová, y arrepintióse de aquel mal, y dijo al ángel que destruía: Basta ya: detén tu mano. Y el ángel de Jehová estaba junto a la era de Ornán Jebuseo.
16 And Dauid lift vp his eyes, and sawe the Angel of the Lord stande betweene the earth and the heauen with his sworde drawen in his hand, and stretched out towarde Ierusalem. Then Dauid and the Elders of Israel, which were clothed in sacke, fell vpon their faces.
Y alzando David sus ojos vio al ángel de Jehová, que estaba entre el cielo y la tierra, teniendo una espada desnuda en su mano, extendida contra Jerusalem. Entonces David y los ancianos se postraron sobre sus rostros cubiertos de sacos.
17 And Dauid said vnto God, Is it not I that commanded to nomber the people? It is euen I that haue sinned and haue committed euil, but these sheepe what haue they done? O Lord my God, I beseech thee, let thine hande be on me and on my fathers house, and not on thy people for their destruction.
Y dijo David a Dios: ¿No soy yo el que hice contar el pueblo? Yo mismo soy el que pequé, y haciendo mal, hice mal: ¿estas ovejas que hicieron? Jehová Dios mío, sea ahora tu mano contra mí, y contra la casa de mi padre, y no haya plaga en tu pueblo.
18 Then the Angel of the Lord commanded Gad to say to Dauid, that Dauid should goe vp, and set vp an altar vnto the Lord in the thresshing floore of Ornan the Iebusite.
Y dijo el ángel de Jehová a Gad, que dijese a David, que subiese, y compusiese un altar a Jehová en la era de Ornán Jebuseo.
19 So Dauid went vp according to the saying of Gad, which he had spoken in the Name of the Lord.
Entonces David subió conforme a la palabra de Gad, que le había dicho en nombre de Jehová.
20 And Ornan turned about, and sawe the Angel, and his foure sonnes, that were with him, hid them selues, and Ornan thresshed wheat.
Y volviéndose Ornán vio al ángel, y estaban con él cuatro hijos suyos, los cuales se escondieron. Y Ornán trillaba el trigo.
21 And as Dauid came to Ornan, Ornan looked and sawe Dauid, and went out of the thresshing floore, and bowed himselfe to Dauid with his face to the grounde.
Y viniendo David a Ornán, miró Ornán, y vio a David, y saliendo de la era postróse en tierra a David.
22 And Dauid saide to Ornan, Giue me the place of thy thresshing floore, that I may builde an altar therein vnto the Lord: giue it me for sufficient money, that the plague may be stayed from the people.
Y David dijo a Ornán: Dáme este lugar de la era en que edifique un altar a Jehová, y dámelo por dinero cumplido, para que cese la plaga del pueblo.
23 Then Ornan saide vnto Dauid, Take it to thee, and let my lord the King do that which seemeth him good: loe, I giue thee bullockes for burnt offrings, and thresshing instruments for wood, and wheat for meate offring, I giue it all.
Y Ornán respondió a David: Tómate lo, y haga mi señor el rey lo que bien le pareciere: y aun los bueyes daré para el holocausto, y los trillos para leña, y trigo para el presente: yo lo doy todo.
24 And King Dauid saide to Ornan, Not so: but I will bye it for sufficient money: for I wil not take that which is thine for the Lord, nor offer burnt offrings without cost.
Entonces el rey David dijo a Ornán: No, sino comprando lo compraré por dinero cumplido: porque no tomaré para Jehová lo que es tuyo, ni sacrificaré holocausto de gracia.
25 So Dauid gaue to Ornan for that place sixe hundreth shekels of golde by weight.
Y dio David a Ornán por el lugar seiscientos siclos de oro de peso.
26 And Dauid built there an altar vnto the Lord, and offred burnt offrings, and peace offrings, and called vpon the Lord, and he answered him by fire from heauen vpon the altar of burnt offring.
Y edificó allí David un altar a Jehová, en el cual sacrificó holocaustos y sacrificios pacíficos, e invocó a Jehová, el cual le respondió por fuego de los cielos en el altar del holocausto.
27 And when the Lord had spoken to the Angel, he put vp his sworde againe into his sheath.
Y como Jehová habló al ángel, él volvió su espada en su vaina.
28 At that time when Dauid sawe that the Lord had heard him in the thresshing floore of Ornan the Iebusite, then he sacrificed there.
Entonces viendo David que Jehová le había oído en la era de Ornán Jebuseo, sacrificó allí.
29 (But the Tabernacle of the Lord which Moses had made in the wildernesse, and the altar of burnt offring were at that season in the hie place at Gibeon.
Y el tabernáculo de Jehová, que Moisés había hecho en el desierto, y el altar del holocausto, estaban entonces en el alto de Gabaón.
30 And Dauid could not go before it to aske counsel at God: for he was afraide of the sworde of the Angel of the Lord.)
Y David no pudo ir allá a consultar a Dios; porque estaba espantado a causa de la espada del ángel de Jehová.
