1 Chronicles 18
1 And after this Dauid smote the Philistims, and subdued them, and tooke Gath, and the villages thereof out of the hand of the Philistims.
Tiempo después, David derrotó a los filisteos y los sometió, y capturó Gat y sus ciudades cercanas a los filisteos.
2 And he smote Moab, and the Moabites became Dauids seruants, and brought giftes.
David también derrotó a los moabitas, sometiéndolos y obligándolos a pagar impuestos.
3 And Dauid smote Hadarezer King of Zobah vnto Hamath, as he went to stablish his border by the riuer Perath.
Luego David derrotó a Hadad-Ezer, rey de Soba, cerca de Hamat, cuando intentaba imponer su control a lo largo del río Éufrates.
4 And Dauid tooke from him a thousand charets, and seuen thousand horsemen, and twentie thousand footemen, and destroyed all the charets, but he reserued of them an hundreth charets.
David le capturó 1.000 carros, 7.000 auriculares y 20.000 soldados de a pie. David ató a todos los caballos de los carros, pero guardó lo suficiente para 100 carros.
5 Then came the Aramites of Damascus to succour Hadarezer King of Zobah, but Dauid slewe of the Aramites two and twentie thousand.
Cuando los arameos de Damasco vinieron a ayudar a Hadad-Ezer, rey de Soba, David mató a 22.000 de ellos.
6 And Dauid put a garison in Aram of Damascus, and the Aramites became Dauids seruants, and brought giftes: and the Lord preserued Dauid wheresoeuer he went.
David puso fuerzas en la ciudad aramea de Damasco, y también los sometió y les exigió el pago de impuestos. El Señor le dio a David victorias dondequiera que fuera.
7 And Dauid tooke the shieldes of gold that were of the seruants of Hadarezer, and brought them to Ierusalem.
David tomó los escudos de oro que llevaban los oficiales de Hadad-Ezer y los llevó a Jerusalén.
8 And from Tibhath, and from Chun (cities of Hadarezer) brought Dauid exceeding much brasse, wherewith Salomon made the brasen Sea, and the pillars and the vessels of brasse.
David también tomó una gran cantidad de bronce de Tibhat y de Cun, ciudades que habían pertenecido a Hadad-Ezer. Salomón utilizó ese bronce para hacer el mar de bronce, las columnas y los diversos objetos de bronce.
9 Then Tou King of Hamath heard howe Dauid had smitten all the hoste of Hadarezer King of Zobah:
Cuando Tou, rey de Hamat, se enteró de que David había destruido todo el ejército de Hadad-Ezer, rey de Soba,
10 Therefore he sent Hadoram his sonne to King Dauid, to salute him, and to reioyce with him, because he had fought against Hadarezer, and beaten him (for Tou had warre with Hadarezer) who brought all vessels of golde and siluer and brasse.
envió a su hijo Adoram donde David para que se hiciera amigo de él y lo felicitara por su victoria en la batalla sobre Hadad-Ezer. Tou y Hadad-Ezer habían estado a menudo en guerra. Adoram trajo regalos de oro, plata y bronce.
11 And King Dauid did dedicate them vnto the Lord, with the siluer and golde that hee brought from all the nations, from Edom, and from Moab, and from the children of Ammon, and from the Philistims, and from Amalek.
El rey David dedicó estos regalos al Señor, junto con la plata y el oro que había tomado de todas las naciones siguientes: Edom, Moab, los amonitas, los filisteos y los amalecitas.
12 And Abishai the sonne of Zeruiah smote of Edom in the salt valley eighteene thousand,
Abisai, hijo de Sarvia, mató a 18.000 edomitas en el Valle de la Sal.
13 And he put a garison in Edom, and all the Edomites became Dauids seruantes: and the Lord preserued Dauid wheresoeuer he went.
Estableció puestos militares en Edom, y todos los edomitas se sometieron a David. El Señor le dio a David victorias dondequiera que fuera.
14 So Dauid reigned ouer all Israel, and executed iudgement and iustice to all his people.
David gobernó sobre todo Israel. Hizo lo que era justo y correcto para todo su pueblo.
15 And Ioab the sonne of Zeruiah was ouer the hoste, and Iehoshaphat the sonne of Ahilud recorder,
Joab, hijo de Sarvia, era el comandante del ejército, mientras que Josafat, hijo de Ahilud, llevaba los registros oficiales.
16 And Zadok the sonne of Ahitub, and Abimelech the sonne of Abiathar were the Priests, and Shausha the Scribe,
Sadoc, hijo de Ahitob, y Ahimelec, hijo de Abiatar, eran los sacerdotes, mientras que Savsha era el secretario.
17 And Benaiah the sonne of Iehoiada was ouer the Cherethites and the Pelethites: and the sonnes of Dauid were chiefe about the King.
Benaía, hijo de Joiada, estaba a cargo de los queretanos y peletanos; y los hijos de David estaban al lado del rey, sirviendo como sus principales funcionarios.
