< 1 Chronicles 17 >
1 Nowe afterward when Dauid dwelt in his house, he saide to Nathan the Prophet, Beholde, I dwell in an house of cedar trees, but the Arke of the Lordes couenant remaineth vnder curtaines.
Afei, ɛberɛ a Dawid nyaa atenaseɛ wɔ nʼahemfie hɔ no, ɔka kyerɛɛ odiyifoɔ Natan sɛ, “Me deɛ manya ahemfie a wɔde ntweneduro asi no fɛfɛ mu atena, nanso Awurade Apam Adaka no deɛ, ɛhyɛ ntomadan mu.”
2 Then Nathan said to Dauid, Do all that is in thine heart: for God is with thee.
Natan buaa sɛ, “Deɛ ɛwɔ wʼadwene mu a wopɛ sɛ woyɛ no, kɔ so na Onyankopɔn ka wo ho.”
3 And the same night euen the word of God came to Nathan, saying,
Saa anadwo no ara, Onyankopɔn ka kyerɛɛ Natan sɛ,
4 Goe, and tell Dauid my seruant, Thus saith the Lord, Thou shalt not buylde me an house to dwell in:
“Kɔka kyerɛ me ɔsomfoɔ Dawid sɛ, ‘Sɛdeɛ Awurade seɛ nie: ɛnyɛ wo na ɛsɛ sɛ wosi asɔredan ma me tena mu.
5 For I haue dwelt in no house, since the day that I brought out the childre of Israel vnto this daye, but I haue bene from tent to tent, and from habitation to habitation.
Ɛfiri ɛberɛ a mede Israelfoɔ firii Misraim bɛsi ɛnnɛ, mentenaa asɔredan mu da. Daa, mete ntomadan mu na wɔde di atutena.
6 Wheresoeuer I haue walked with all Israel spake I one word to any of the iudges of Israel (whome I commanded to feede my people) saying, Why haue ye not built mee an house of cedar trees?
Na mannwiinwii ankyerɛ Israel ntuanofoɔ no a wɔyɛ me nkurɔfoɔ nnwanhwɛfoɔ no da. Memmisaa wɔn da sɛ: “Adɛn enti na momfaa ntweneduro nsii efie mmaa me da?”’
7 Nowe therefore thus shalt thou say vnto my seruant Dauid, Thus saith the Lord of hostes, I tooke thee from the sheepecoat and from following the sheepe, that thou shouldest bee a prince ouer my people Israel.
“Afei, kɔka kyerɛ me ɔsomfoɔ Dawid sɛ, ‘Sɛdeɛ Otumfoɔ Awurade seɛ nie: Meyii wo sɛ di me nkurɔfoɔ Israelfoɔ anim wɔ ɛberɛ a na woyɛ abarimaa dwanhwɛfoɔ a worehwɛ wo nnwan wɔ adidibea.
8 And I haue bene with thee whithersoeuer thou hast walked, and haue destroyed all thine enemies out of thy sight, and haue made thee a name, like the name of the great men that are in the earth.
Baabiara a wokɔeɛ no, mekaa wo ho. Na masɛe wʼatamfoɔ nyinaa. Na mɛma wɔagye edin wɔ asase yi nyinaa so.
9 (Also I will appoynt a place for my people Israel, and will plant it, that they may dwell in their place, and moue no more: neither shall the wicked people vexe them any more, as at the beginning,
Mama me nkurɔfoɔ Israelfoɔ no baabi a wɔbɛtena afebɔɔ. Beaeɛ bi a ɛwɔ banbɔ a obiara renha wɔn. Ɛhɔ bɛyɛ wɔn ankasa asase a aman amumuyɛfoɔ renhyɛ wɔn so, sɛdeɛ wɔyɛɛ wɔ ɛberɛ bi a atwam no,
10 And since the time that I commanded iudges ouer my people Israel) And I wil subdue all thine enemies: therefore I say vnto thee, that the Lord wil buylde thee an house.
firi ɛberɛ a meyii atemmufoɔ sɛ wɔnni me nkurɔfoɔ so no. Na mɛka wʼatamfoɔ nyinaa ahyɛ. “‘Na merepae mu aka sɛ, Awurade bɛsi efie ama wo, ahennie nnidisoɔ.
11 And when thy dayes shalbe fulfilled to go with thy fathers, then will I rayse vp thy seede after thee, which shalbe of thy sonnes, and will stablish his kingdome.
Na sɛ wowu a, mɛma wo mmammarima no mu baako so, na mama nʼahennie ayɛ den.
12 He shall builde me an house, and I will stablish his throne for euer.
Ɔno ne obi a ɔbɛsi efie a ɛyɛ asɔredan no ama me. Na mɛtim nʼahennwa ase afebɔɔ.
13 I wil be his father, and he shalbe my sonne, aud I will not take my mercie away from him, as I tooke it from him that was before thee.
Mɛyɛ nʼagya na ɔbɛyɛ me ba. Merenyi me dɔ a ɛnsa da no mfiri ne so, sɛdeɛ meyi firii Saulo a wodii nʼadeɛ so no.
14 But I wil establish him in mine house, and in my kingdome for euer, and his throne shalbe stablished for euer,
Mɛma nʼase atim wɔ mʼahennie nnidisoɔ ne mʼaheman mu ɛberɛ nyinaa mu, na nʼahennwa no bɛtena hɔ daa.’”
15 According to all these wordes, and according to al this vision. So Nathan spake to Dauid.
Enti, Natan sane kɔɔ Dawid nkyɛn kɔkaa saa adiyisɛm yi nyinaa kyerɛɛ no.
16 And Dauid the King went in and sate before the Lord and said, Who am I, O Lord God, and what is mine house, that thou hast brought me hitherto?
Afei, ɔhene Dawid kɔtenaa Awurade anim bɔɔ mpaeɛ sɛ, “Me ne hwan, Ao Awurade Onyankopɔn, na mʼabusua yɛ abusua bɛn a enti wode me abɛduru saa tebea yi mu?
17 Yet thou esteeming this a small thing, O God, hast also spoken concerning the house of thy seruaut for a great while, and hast regarded me according to the estate of a man of hie degree, O Lord God.
Na seesei, Awurade, yei nyinaa akyi no, woka sɛ wobɛma me ahennie nnidisoɔ afebɔɔ. Wokasa me ho te sɛ obi a meyɛ ɔkɛseɛ pa ara, Ao Awurade Onyankopɔn!
18 What can Dauid desire more of thee for the honour of thy seruant? for thou knowest thy seruant.
“Ɛdeɛn na menka bio mfa ɛkwan a woafa so ahyɛ me animuonyam yi ho? Wonim sɛdeɛ wʼakoa teɛ ankasa.
19 O Lord, for thy seruantes sake, euen according to thine heart hast thou done all this great thing to declare all magnificence.
Ao Awurade, me enti ne wo pɛ mu enti, woayɛ saa nneɛma akɛseɛ yi nyinaa, na woada no adi.
20 Lord, there is none like thee, neither is there any God besides thee, according to all that we haue heard with our eares.
“Ao Awurade, obiara nni hɔ a ɔte sɛ wo. Onyame foforɔ bi nni hɔ! Yɛntee da mpo sɛ onyame foforɔ bi wɔ hɔ te sɛ wo!
21 Moreouer what one nation in the earth is like thy people Israel, whose God went to redeeme them to be his people, and to make thy selfe a Name, and to doe great and terrible things by casting out nations from before thy people, whom thou hast deliuered out of Egypt?
Ɔman foforɔ bɛn na ɛwɔ asase so a, ɛte sɛ Israel? Ɔman foforɔ bɛn, Ao Onyankopɔn, na woayi no afiri nkoasom mu de wɔn abɛyɛ wʼankasa wo nkurɔfoɔ? Ɛberɛ a wogyee wo nkurɔfoɔ firii Misraim no, wode gyee edin. Wonam nsɛnkyerɛnneɛ a ɛyɛ ahodwirie so pamoo aman a wɔayɛ akwansideɛ ama wɔn.
22 For thou hast ordeined thy people Israel to be thine owne people for euer, and thou Lord art become their God.
Woyii Israel sɛ wɔmmɛyɛ wo nkurɔfoɔ afebɔɔ, na wo, Ao Awurade, woabɛyɛ wɔn Onyankopɔn.
23 Therefore nowe Lord, let the thing that thou hast spoken concerning thy seruant and concerning his house, be confirmed for euer, and doe as thou hast sayd,
“Ao Awurade, afei di ɛbɔ a wohyɛ faa wʼakoa ne ne mʼabusuafoɔ ho no so. Ma ɛnyɛ bɔhyɛ a ɛbɛtena hɔ daa.
24 And let thy name be stable and magnified for euer, that it may be sayd, The Lord of hostes, God of Israel, is the God of Israel, and let the house of Dauid thy seruant bee stablished before thee.
Wo din ase ntim, na wɔnhyɛ no animuonyam afebɔɔ sɛdeɛ ɛbɛyɛ a ewiase nyinaa bɛka sɛ, ‘Awurade Otumfoɔ yɛ Onyankopɔn wɔ Israel!’ Na ma wo ɔsomfoɔ Dawid ahennie nnidisoɔ no ase ntim wɔ wʼanim.
25 For thou, O my God, hast reueiled vnto the eare of thy seruant, that thou wilt builde him an house: therefore thy seruant hath bene bolde to pray before thee.
“Ao me Onyankopɔn, masi me bo abɔ saa mpaeɛ yi, ɛfiri sɛ, woada no adi sɛ wobɛsi fie ama me, mʼahennie nnidisoɔ a ɛbɛtena hɔ daa.
26 Therefore nowe Lord (for thou art God, and hast spoken this goodnesse vnto thy seruant)
Ɛfiri sɛ, woyɛ Onyankopɔn, Ao Awurade. Na me, wo ɔsomfoɔ, woahyɛ me nneɛma pa yi ho bɔ.
27 Now therfore, it hath pleased thee to blesse the house of thy seruant, that it may bee before thee for euer: for thou, O Lord, hast blessed it, and it shalbe blessed for euer.
Na afei, asɔ wʼani sɛ wobɛhyira me ne mʼabusuafoɔ, sɛdeɛ yɛn ahennie nnidisoɔ bɛkɔ so afebɔɔ wɔ wʼanim. Na sɛ wohyira a, Ao Awurade, ɛyɛ nhyira a ɛtena hɔ daa nyinaa!”
