1 Chronicles 17
1 Nowe afterward when Dauid dwelt in his house, he saide to Nathan the Prophet, Beholde, I dwell in an house of cedar trees, but the Arke of the Lordes couenant remaineth vnder curtaines.
Sucedeu pois que, morando David já em sua casa, disse David ao profeta Nathan: Eis que moro em casa de cedros, mas a arca do concerto do Senhor está debaixo de cortinas.
2 Then Nathan said to Dauid, Do all that is in thine heart: for God is with thee.
Então Nathan disse a David: Tudo quanto tens no teu coração faze, porque Deus é contigo.
3 And the same night euen the word of God came to Nathan, saying,
Mas sucedeu, na mesma noite, que a palavra do Senhor veio a Nathan, dizendo:
4 Goe, and tell Dauid my seruant, Thus saith the Lord, Thou shalt not buylde me an house to dwell in:
Vai, e dize a David meu servo: Assim diz o Senhor: Tu me não edificarás uma casa para morar;
5 For I haue dwelt in no house, since the day that I brought out the childre of Israel vnto this daye, but I haue bene from tent to tent, and from habitation to habitation.
Porque em casa nenhuma morei, desde o dia em que fiz subir a Israel até ao dia de hoje; mas fui de tenda em tenda, e de tabernáculo em tabernáculo.
6 Wheresoeuer I haue walked with all Israel spake I one word to any of the iudges of Israel (whome I commanded to feede my people) saying, Why haue ye not built mee an house of cedar trees?
Por todas as partes por onde andei com todo o Israel, porventura falei alguma palavra a algum dos juízes de Israel, a quem ordenei que apascentasse o meu povo, dizendo: Porque me não edificais uma casa de cedros?
7 Nowe therefore thus shalt thou say vnto my seruant Dauid, Thus saith the Lord of hostes, I tooke thee from the sheepecoat and from following the sheepe, that thou shouldest bee a prince ouer my people Israel.
Agora pois assim dirás a meu servo, a David: Assim diz o Senhor dos exércitos: Eu te tirei do curral, de detraz das ovelhas, para que fosses chefe do meu povo Israel.
8 And I haue bene with thee whithersoeuer thou hast walked, and haue destroyed all thine enemies out of thy sight, and haue made thee a name, like the name of the great men that are in the earth.
E estive contigo por toda a parte, por onde foste, e de diante de ti exterminei todos os teus inimigos, e te fiz um nome como o nome dos grandes que estão na terra.
9 (Also I will appoynt a place for my people Israel, and will plant it, that they may dwell in their place, and moue no more: neither shall the wicked people vexe them any more, as at the beginning,
E ordenei um lugar para o meu povo Israel, e o plantei, para que habite no seu lugar, e nunca mais seja removido de uma para outra parte; e nunca mais os debilitarão os filhos da perversidade, como ao princípio;
10 And since the time that I commanded iudges ouer my people Israel) And I wil subdue all thine enemies: therefore I say vnto thee, that the Lord wil buylde thee an house.
E desde os dias em que ordenei juízes sobre o meu povo Israel; porém abati a todos os teus inimigos: também te fiz saber que o Senhor te edificaria uma casa.
11 And when thy dayes shalbe fulfilled to go with thy fathers, then will I rayse vp thy seede after thee, which shalbe of thy sonnes, and will stablish his kingdome.
E há de ser que, quando forem cumpridos os teus dias, para ires a teus pais, suscitarei a tua semente depois de ti, a qual será dos teus filhos, e confirmarei o seu reino.
12 He shall builde me an house, and I will stablish his throne for euer.
Este me edificará casa; e eu confirmarei o seu trono para sempre.
13 I wil be his father, and he shalbe my sonne, aud I will not take my mercie away from him, as I tooke it from him that was before thee.
Eu lhe serei por pai, e ele me será por filho: e a minha benignidade não desviarei dele, como a tirei daquele, que foi antes de ti.
14 But I wil establish him in mine house, and in my kingdome for euer, and his throne shalbe stablished for euer,
Mas o confirmarei na minha casa e no meu reino para sempre, e o seu trono será firme para sempre.
15 According to all these wordes, and according to al this vision. So Nathan spake to Dauid.
Conforme todas estas palavras, e conforme toda esta visão, assim falou Nathan a David.
16 And Dauid the King went in and sate before the Lord and said, Who am I, O Lord God, and what is mine house, that thou hast brought me hitherto?
Então entrou o rei David, e ficou perante o Senhor: e disse: Quem sou eu, Senhor Deus? e qual é a minha casa, que me trouxestes até aqui?
17 Yet thou esteeming this a small thing, O God, hast also spoken concerning the house of thy seruaut for a great while, and hast regarded me according to the estate of a man of hie degree, O Lord God.
E ainda isto, ó Deus, foi pouco aos teus olhos; pelo que falaste da casa de teu servo para tempos distantes: e proveste-me, segundo o costume dos homens, com esta exaltação, ó Senhor Deus.
18 What can Dauid desire more of thee for the honour of thy seruant? for thou knowest thy seruant.
Que mais te dirá David, acerca da honra feita a teu servo? porém tu bem conheces a teu servo.
19 O Lord, for thy seruantes sake, euen according to thine heart hast thou done all this great thing to declare all magnificence.
Ó Senhor, por amor de teu servo, e segundo o teu coração, fizeste todas estas grandezas, para fazer notórias todas estas grandes coisas.
20 Lord, there is none like thee, neither is there any God besides thee, according to all that we haue heard with our eares.
Senhor, ninguém há como tu, e não há Deus fora de ti, conforme tudo quanto ouvimos com os nossos ouvidos.
21 Moreouer what one nation in the earth is like thy people Israel, whose God went to redeeme them to be his people, and to make thy selfe a Name, and to doe great and terrible things by casting out nations from before thy people, whom thou hast deliuered out of Egypt?
E quem há como o teu povo Israel, única gente na terra? a quem Deus foi remir para seu povo, fazendo-te nome com coisas grandes e temerosas, lançando as nações de diante do teu povo, que remiste do Egito.
22 For thou hast ordeined thy people Israel to be thine owne people for euer, and thou Lord art become their God.
E tomaste o teu povo Israel para ser teu povo para sempre: e tu, Senhor, lhe foste por Deus.
23 Therefore nowe Lord, let the thing that thou hast spoken concerning thy seruant and concerning his house, be confirmed for euer, and doe as thou hast sayd,
Agora pois, Senhor, a palavra que falaste de teu servo, e acerca da sua casa, seja certa para sempre: e faze como falaste.
24 And let thy name be stable and magnified for euer, that it may be sayd, The Lord of hostes, God of Israel, is the God of Israel, and let the house of Dauid thy seruant bee stablished before thee.
Confirme-se com efeito, e que o teu nome se engrandeça para sempre, e diga-se: O Senhor dos exércitos, o Deus de Israel, é Deus para Israel; e fique firme diante de ti a casa de David teu servo.
25 For thou, O my God, hast reueiled vnto the eare of thy seruant, that thou wilt builde him an house: therefore thy seruant hath bene bolde to pray before thee.
Porque tu, Deus meu, revelaste ao ouvido de teu servo que lhe edificarias casa; pelo que o teu servo achou confiança para orar em tua presença.
26 Therefore nowe Lord (for thou art God, and hast spoken this goodnesse vnto thy seruant)
Agora pois, Senhor, tu és o mesmo Deus, e falaste este bem acerca de teu servo.
27 Now therfore, it hath pleased thee to blesse the house of thy seruant, that it may bee before thee for euer: for thou, O Lord, hast blessed it, and it shalbe blessed for euer.
Agora pois foste servido abençoares a casa de teu servo, para que esteja perpetuamente diante de ti: porque tu, Senhor, a abençoaste, e ficará abençoada para sempre.
