1 Chronicles 15

1 And Dauid made him houses in the citie of Dauid, and prepared a place for the Arke of God, and pitched for it a tent.

Et il bâtit pour lui des maisons dans la Cité de David, et prépara une place à l'Arche de Dieu et dressa une tente pour la recevoir.

2 Then Dauid saide, None ought to carie the Arke of God, but the Leuites: for the Lord hath chosen them to beare the Arke of the Lord, and to minister vnto him for euer.

Alors David dit: L'Arche de Dieu ne doit être portée que par les Lévites, car c'est eux que l'Éternel a choisis pour porter l'Arche de Dieu et en faire le service à perpétuité.

3 And Dauid gathered all Israel together to Ierusalem to bring vp the Arke of the Lord vnto his place, which he had ordeined for it.

Et David assembla tout Israël à Jérusalem pour transporter l'Arche de l'Éternel à sa place, qu'il lui avait préparée.

4 And Dauid assembled the sonnes of Aaron, and the Leuites.

Et David réunit les fils d'Aaron et les Lévites;

5 Of the sonnes of Kohath, Vriel the chiefe, and his brethren sixe score.

des fils de Cahath: Uriel, le chef, et ses frères, cent vingt;

6 Of the sonnes of Merari, Asaiah the chiefe, and his brethren two hundreth and twentie.

des fils de Merari: Asaïa, le chef, et ses frères, deux cent vingt;

7 Of the sonnes of Gershom, Ioel the chiefe, and his brethren an hundreth and thirtie.

des fils de Gersom: Joël, le chef, et ses frères, cent trente;

8 Of the sonnes of Elizaphan, Shemaiah the chiefe, and his brethren two hundreth.

des fils d'Elitsaphan: Semaïa, le chef, et ses frères, deux cents;

9 Of the sonnes of Hebron, Eliel the chiefe, and his brethren fourescore.

des fils de Hébron: Eliel, le chef, et ses frères, quatre-vingts;

10 Of the sonnes of Vzziel, Amminadab the chiefe, and his brethren an hundreth and twelue.

des fils de Uzziel: Amminadab, le chef, et ses frères, cent-douze.

11 And Dauid called Zadok and Abiathar the Priestes, and of the Leuites, Vriel, Asaiah and Ioel, Shemaiah, and Eliel, and Amminadab:

Et David manda Tsadoc et Abiathar, Prêtres; et les Lévites Uriel, Asaïa et Joël; Semaïa, Eliel, et Amminadab,

12 And he saide vnto them, Ye are the chiefe fathers of the Leuites: sanctifie your selues, and your brethren, and bring vp the Arke of the Lord God of Israel vnto the place that I haue prepared for it.

et leur dit: Vous êtes les patriarches des Lévites; mettez-vous en état de sainteté, vous et vos frères, et transportez l'Arche de l'Éternel, Dieu d'Israël, au lieu que je lui ai préparé.

13 For because ye were not there at the first, the Lord our God made a breach among vs: for we sought him not after due order.

C'est parce que la première fois vous ne l'avez pas fait, que l'Éternel, notre Dieu, a frappé un coup sur nous, parce que nous ne l'avions pas consulté selon le droit.

14 So the Priestes and the Leuites sanctified them selues to bring vp the Arke of the Lord God of Israel.

Et les Prêtres et les Lévites se mirent en état de sainteté pour faire la translation de l'Arche de l'Éternel, Dieu d'Israël.

15 And the sonnes of the Leuites bare the Arke of God vpon their shoulders with the barres, as Moses had commanded, according to the worde of the Lord.

Et les fils des Lévites portèrent l'Arche de Dieu, comme Moïse l'avait prescrit d'après la parole de l'Éternel, sur leurs épaules où posaient les barres.

16 And Dauid spake to the chiefe of the Leuites, that they should appoint certaine of their brethren to sing with instruments of musike, with violes and harpes, and cymbales, that they might make a sounde, and lift vp their voyce with ioye.

Et David dit aux chefs des Lévites de mettre de service leurs frères les chantres, avec des instruments de musique, harpes et luths et cymbales, retentissants, pour prendre un ton éclatant en signe de joie.

17 So the Leuites appointed Heman the sonne of Ioel, and of his brethren Asaph the sonne of Berechiah, and of the sonnes of Merari their brethren, Ethan the sonne of Kushaiah,

Et les Lévites mirent de service: Heiman, fils de Joël, et, de ses frères, Asaph, fils de Béréchia, et, des fils de Merari, leurs frères: Eithan, fils de Cusaïa,

18 And with them their brethren in the seconde degree, Zechariah, Ben, and Iaaziel, and Shemiramoth, and Iehiel, and Vnni, Eliab, and Benaiah, and Maaseiah, and Mattithiah, and Elipheleh, and Mikneah, and Obed Edom, and Ieiel the porters.

et avec eux leurs frères puînés Zacharie, Ben et Jaëziel et Semiramoth et Jehiel et Unni, Eliab et Benaïa et Maëséia et Matthithia et Eliphéléhou et Micnéihu et Obed-Edom et Jeïel, portiers;

19 So Heman, Asaph and Ethan were fingers to make a sounde with cymbales of brasse,

et les chantres Heiman, Asaph et Eithan pour faire résonner les cymbales d'airain, et

20 And Zechariah, and Aziel, and Shemiramoth, and Iehiel, and Vnni, and Eliab, and Maaseiah, and Benaiah with violes on Alamoth,

Zacharie et Aziel et Semiramoth et Jehiel et Unni et Eliab et Maëséia et Benaïa avec des harpes en mode virginal

21 And Mattithiah, and Elipheleh, and Mikneah, and Obed Edom, and Ieiel, and Azaziah, with harpes vpon Sheminith Ienazzeah.

et Matthithia et Eliphéléhou et Micnéihu et Obed-Edom et Jeïel et Azazia avec des luths en octave de basse pour conduire le chant.

22 But Chenaniah the chiefe of the Leuites had the charge, bearing ye burden in the charge, for he was able to instruct.

Et Chenania, Maître chantre des Lévites, enseignait le chant, car il était entendu.

23 And Berechiah and Elkanah were porters for the Arke.

Et Béréchia et Elcana étaient portiers de l'Arche.

24 And Shecaniah and Iehoshaphat and Nethaneel and Amasai, and Zechariah, and Benaiah, and Eliezer the Priestes did blowe with trumpets before the Arke of God, and Obed Edom and Ieiiah were porters for the Arke.

Et Sebania et Josaphat et Nethaneël et Amasaï et Zacharie et Benaïa et Eliézer, Prêtres, sonnaient des trompettes devant l'Arche de Dieu. Et Obed-Edom et Jehia étaient portiers de l'Arche.

25 So Dauid and the Elders of Israel and the captaines of thousandes went to bring vp the Arke of the couenant of the Lord from the house of Obed Edom with ioye.

Ainsi David et les Anciens d'Israël et les chefs de mille partirent pour transporter l'Arche de l'alliance de l'Éternel de la maison d'Obed-Edom, dans l'allégresse.

26 And because that God helped the Leuites that bare the Arke of the couenant of the Lord, they offered seuen bullockes and seuen rammes.

Et comme Dieu fut en aide aux Lévites qui portaient l'Arche d'alliance de l'Éternel, ils sacrifièrent sept taureaux et sept béliers.

27 And Dauid had on him a linen garment, as all the Leuites that bare the Arke, and the singers and Chenaniah that had the chiefe charge of the singers: and vpon Dauid was a linnen Ephod.

Et David était revêtu d'un manteau de byssus, de même que tous les Lévites, porteurs de l'Arche, et les chantres et Chenania, Maître chantre parmi les chantres; et David portait un éphod de lin.

28 Thus all Israel brought vp the Arke of the Lordes couenant with shouting and sounde of cornet, and with trumpets, and with cymbales, making a sound with violes and with harpes.

Et tout Israël opéra la translation de l'Arche de l'alliance de l'Éternel avec des acclamations et au son des clairons et des trompettes et des cymbales, faisant résonner les harpes et les luths.

29 And when the Arke of the couenant of the Lord came into the citie of Dauid, Michal the daughter of Saul looked out at a windowe, and sawe King Dauid dauncing and playing, and she despised him in her heart.

Et lorsque l'Arche d'alliance de l'Éternel atteignait la cité de David, Michal, fille de Saül, regardait par la fenêtre, et elle vit le roi David dansant et sautant, et elle conçut pour lui du mépris en son cœur.
