1 Chronicles 15
1 And Dauid made him houses in the citie of Dauid, and prepared a place for the Arke of God, and pitched for it a tent.
Siden byggede han sig Huse i Davidsbyen og beredte Guds Ark et Sted, idet han rejste den et Telt
2 Then Dauid saide, None ought to carie the Arke of God, but the Leuites: for the Lord hath chosen them to beare the Arke of the Lord, and to minister vnto him for euer.
Ved den Lejlighed sagde David: "Ingen andre end Leviterne må bære Guds Ark, thi dem har HERREN udvalgt til at bære Guds Ark og til at gøre Tjeneste for ham til evig Tid."
3 And Dauid gathered all Israel together to Ierusalem to bring vp the Arke of the Lord vnto his place, which he had ordeined for it.
Og David samlede hele Israel i Jerusalem for at føre HERRENs Ark op til det Sted, han havde beredt den.
4 And Dauid assembled the sonnes of Aaron, and the Leuites.
Og David samlede Arons Sønner og Leviterne:
5 Of the sonnes of Kohath, Vriel the chiefe, and his brethren sixe score.
Af Kehatiterne Øversten Uriel og hans Brødre, 120;
6 Of the sonnes of Merari, Asaiah the chiefe, and his brethren two hundreth and twentie.

11 And Dauid called Zadok and Abiathar the Priestes, and of the Leuites, Vriel, Asaiah and Ioel, Shemaiah, and Eliel, and Amminadab:
Så lod David Præsterne Zadok og Ebjatar og Leviterne Uriel, Asaja, Joel, Sjemaja, Eliel og Amminadab kalde
12 And he saide vnto them, Ye are the chiefe fathers of the Leuites: sanctifie your selues, and your brethren, and bring vp the Arke of the Lord God of Israel vnto the place that I haue prepared for it.
og sagde til dem: "I er Overhoveder for Leviternes Fædrenehuse; helliger eder tillige med eders Brødre og før HERRENs, Israels Guds, Ark op til det Sted, jeg har beredt den;
13 For because ye were not there at the first, the Lord our God made a breach among vs: for we sought him not after due order.
det var jo, fordi I ikke var med første Gang, at HERREN vor Gud tilføjede os et Brud; thi vi søgte ham ikke på rette Måde."
14 So the Priestes and the Leuites sanctified them selues to bring vp the Arke of the Lord God of Israel.
Så helligede Præsferne og Leviterne sig for at føre HERRENs, Israels Guds, Ark op;
15 And the sonnes of the Leuites bare the Arke of God vpon their shoulders with the barres, as Moses had commanded, according to the worde of the Lord.
og Levis Sønner løftede med Bærestængerne Guds Ark op på Skuldrene, som Moses havde påbudt efter HERRENS Ord.
16 And Dauid spake to the chiefe of the Leuites, that they should appoint certaine of their brethren to sing with instruments of musike, with violes and harpes, and cymbales, that they might make a sounde, and lift vp their voyce with ioye.
Fremdeles bød David Leviternes Øverster at lade deres Brødre Sangerne stille sig op med Musikinstrumenter, Harper, Citre og Cymbler og lade høje Jubeltoner klinge.
17 So the Leuites appointed Heman the sonne of Ioel, and of his brethren Asaph the sonne of Berechiah, and of the sonnes of Merari their brethren, Ethan the sonne of Kushaiah,
Så lod Leviterne Heman, Joels Søn, og af hans Brødre Asaf, Berekjas Søn, og af deres Brødre Merariterne Etan, Husjajas Søn, stille sig op
18 And with them their brethren in the seconde degree, Zechariah, Ben, and Iaaziel, and Shemiramoth, and Iehiel, and Vnni, Eliab, and Benaiah, and Maaseiah, and Mattithiah, and Elipheleh, and Mikneah, and Obed Edom, and Ieiel the porters.
og ved Siden af dem deres Brødre af anden Rang Zekarja, Uzziel, Sjemiramot, Jehiel, Unni, Eliab, Benaja, Ma'aseja, Mattitja, Elipelehu og Miknejahu og Dørvogterne Obed-Edom og Je'iel;
19 So Heman, Asaph and Ethan were fingers to make a sounde with cymbales of brasse,
Sangerne Heman, Asaf og Etan skulde spille på Kobbercymbler,
20 And Zechariah, and Aziel, and Shemiramoth, and Iehiel, and Vnni, and Eliab, and Maaseiah, and Benaiah with violes on Alamoth,
Zekarja, Uzziel, Sjemiramot, Jehiel, Unni, Eliab, Ma'aseja og Benaja på Harper al-alamot;
21 And Mattithiah, and Elipheleh, and Mikneah, and Obed Edom, and Ieiel, and Azaziah, with harpes vpon Sheminith Ienazzeah.
Mattitja, Elipelehu, Miknejahu, Obed-Edom og Je'iel skulde lede Sangen med Citre al-hassjeminit;
22 But Chenaniah the chiefe of the Leuites had the charge, bearing ye burden in the charge, for he was able to instruct.
Konanja, Leviternes Øverste over dem, der bar, skulde lede disse, da han forstod sig derpå;
23 And Berechiah and Elkanah were porters for the Arke.
Berekja og Elkana skulde være Dørvogtere ved Arken;
24 And Shecaniah and Iehoshaphat and Nethaneel and Amasai, and Zechariah, and Benaiah, and Eliezer the Priestes did blowe with trumpets before the Arke of God, and Obed Edom and Ieiiah were porters for the Arke.
Præsterne Sjebanja, Josjafat, Netan'el, Amasaj, Zekarja, Benaja og Eliezer skulde blæse i Trompeterne foran Guds Ark; og Obed-Edom og Jehija skulde være Dørvogtere ved Arken.
25 So Dauid and the Elders of Israel and the captaines of thousandes went to bring vp the Arke of the couenant of the Lord from the house of Obed Edom with ioye.
Derpå drog David, Israels Ældste og Tusindførerne hen for under Festglæde at lade HERRENs Pagts Ark bringe op fra Obed-Edoms Hus,
26 And because that God helped the Leuites that bare the Arke of the couenant of the Lord, they offered seuen bullockes and seuen rammes.
og da Gud hjalp Leviterne, der har HERRENs Pagts Ark, ofrede man syv Tyre og syv Vædre.
27 And Dauid had on him a linen garment, as all the Leuites that bare the Arke, and the singers and Chenaniah that had the chiefe charge of the singers: and vpon Dauid was a linnen Ephod.
David har en fin linned Kappe, ligeledes alle Leviterne, der har Arken, og Sangerne og Konanja, som ledede dem, der bar. Og David var iført en linned Efod.
28 Thus all Israel brought vp the Arke of the Lordes couenant with shouting and sounde of cornet, and with trumpets, and with cymbales, making a sound with violes and with harpes.
Og hele Israel bragte HERRENs Pagts Ark op under Festjubel og til Hornets, Trompeternes og Cymblernes Klang, under Harpe- og Citerspil.
29 And when the Arke of the couenant of the Lord came into the citie of Dauid, Michal the daughter of Saul looked out at a windowe, and sawe King Dauid dauncing and playing, and she despised him in her heart.
Men da HERRENs Pagts Ark kom til Davidsbyen, så Sauls Datter Mikal ud af Vinduet, og da hun så Kong David springe og danse, ringeagtede hun ham i sit Hjerte.
