1 Chronicles 14
1 Then sent Hiram the King of Tyrus messengers to Dauid, and cedar trees, with masons and carpenters to builde him an house.
Hi-ram, vua Ty-rơ, sai sứ giả đem một đoàn thợ nề, thợ mộc, chở theo nhiều gỗ bá hương để giúp xây cất một cung điện cho Vua Đa-vít.
2 Therefore Dauid knewe that the Lord had confirmed him King ouer Israel, and that his kingdome was lift vp on hie, because of his people Israel.
Đa-vít nhận thức rằng việc Chúa Hằng Hữu lập ông làm vua Ít-ra-ên và cho nước cường thịnh chứng tỏ Ngài đã ban phước dồi dào vì lợi ích của Ít-ra-ên, dân Ngài.
3 Also Dauid tooke moe wiues at Ierusalem, and Dauid begate moe sonnes and daughters.
Tại Giê-ru-sa-lem, Đa-vít cưới thêm mấy vợ khác và sinh thêm nhiều con trai, con gái.
4 And these are the names of the children which he had at Ierusalem, Shammua, and Shobab, Nathan, and Salomon,
Đây là tên các con trai Đa-vít sinh tại Giê-ru-sa-lem: Sa-mua, Sô-báp, Na-than, Sa-lô-môn,
5 And Ibhar, and Elishua, and Elpalet,
Gi-ba, Ê-li-sua, Ên-bê-lết,
6 And Nogah, and Nepheg, and Iaphia,
Nô-ga, Nê-phết, Gia-phia,
7 And Elishama, and Beeliada, and Eliphalet.
Ê-li-sa-ma, Bê-ên-gia-đa, và Ê-li-phê-lết.
8 But when the Philistims heard that Dauid was anointed King ouer Israel, all the Philistims came vp to seeke Dauid. And when Dauid heard, he went out against them.
Nghe tin Đa-vít đã lên ngôi làm vua nước Ít-ra-ên, quân Phi-li-tin kéo toàn lực tấn công để bắt Đa-vít. Được tin báo, Đa-vít lập tức đem quân nghênh chiến.
9 And the Philistims came, and spred them selues in the valley of Rephaim.
Thấy quân Phi-li-tin đang tràn vào thung lũng Rê-pha-im,
10 Then Dauid asked counsel at God, saying, Shall I goe vp against the Philistims, and wilt thou deliuer them into mine hande? And the Lord saide vnto him, Goe vp: for I will deliuer them into thine hande.
Đa-vít cầu hỏi Đức Chúa Trời: “Con có nên tiến đánh quân Phi-li-tin không? Chúa có cho con chiến thắng quân địch không?” Chúa Hằng Hữu đáp: “Con cứ tấn công! Ta sẽ cho con chiến thắng!”
11 So they came vp to Baal-perazim, and Dauid smote them there: and Dauid said, God hath deuided mine enemies with mine hande, as waters are deuided: therefore they called the name of that place, Baal-perazim.
Vậy, Đa-vít và quân của ông kéo lên Ba-anh Phê-ra-xin và tiêu diệt quân Phi-li-tin tại đó. Ông nói: “Đức Chúa Trời đã dùng ta quét sạch địch quân như nước phá vỡ bờ đê.” Vì thế, họ gọi địa điểm này là Ba-anh Phê-rát-sim (phá vỡ).
12 And there they had left their gods: and Dauid said, Let them euen be burnt with fire.
Quân Phi-li-tin bỏ lại nhiều thần tượng của chúng tại đó, nên Đa-vít ra lệnh đem đốt tất cả trong lửa.
13 Againe the Philistims came and spread them selues in the valley.
Người Phi-li-tin lại đem quân tràn vào thung lũng ấy một lần nữa.
14 And when Dauid asked againe counsell at God, God said to him, Thou shalt not goe vp after them, but turne away from them, that thou mayest come vpon them ouer against the mulberie trees.
Đa-vít lại cầu hỏi Đức Chúa Trời để biết cách ứng phó. Đức Chúa Trời phán: “Đừng tấn công thẳng tới, nhưng đi vòng sau lưng địch để tấn công chúng gần rừng dâu.
15 And when thou hearest the noyse of one going in the toppes of the mulberie trees, then goe out to battel: for God is gone foorth before thee, to smite the hoste of the Philistims.
Khi nào con nghe tiếng chân bước trên các ngọn dâu, con hãy khai chiến vì Đức Chúa Trời sẽ đi ra trước mặt con để đánh quân Phi-li-tin.”
16 So Dauid did as God had commanded him: and they smote the hoste of the Philistims from Gibeon euen to Gezer.
Đa-vít vâng lời Đức Chúa Trời, và đánh tan quân đội Phi-li-tin từ Ga-ba-ôn đến Ghê-xe.
17 And the fame of Dauid went out into all landes, and the Lord brought the feare of him vpon all nations.
Danh tiếng của Đa-vít lan tràn khắp nơi và Chúa Hằng Hữu khiến các quốc gia đều kính sợ người.
