< Zephaniah 2 >
1 Come together, yes, gather together, you worthless nation—
Ẹ kó ara yín jọ pọ̀, àní ẹ kó ra yín jọ pọ̀ orílẹ̀-èdè tí kò ní ìtìjú,
2 before the decree is issued, before you wither and die like a flower, before the burning anger of the Lord falls on you, before the day of the Lord's anger comes on you.
kí a tó pa àṣẹ náà, kí ọjọ́ náà tó kọjá bí ìyàngbò ọkà, kí gbígbóná ìbínú Olúwa tó dé bá a yín, kí ọjọ́ ìbínú Olúwa kí ó tó dé bá a yín.
3 Look to the Lord, all you people of the land who are humble and who follow his commands. Look to do what is right; look to live in humility. Perhaps you will be protected on the day of the Lord's anger.
Ẹ wá Olúwa, gbogbo ẹ̀yin onírẹ̀lẹ̀ ilẹ̀ náà, ẹ̀yin tí ń ṣe ohun tí ó bá pàṣẹ. Ẹ wá òdodo, ẹ wá ìrẹ̀lẹ̀ pẹ̀lú, bóyá á ó pa yín mọ́ ní ọjọ́ ìbínú Olúwa.
4 Gaza will be abandoned, Ashkelon will become desolate, Ashdod will be emptied by noon, Ekron will be ripped up.
Nítorí pé, a ó kọ Gasa sílẹ̀, Aṣkeloni yóò sì dahoro. Ní ọ̀sán gangan ni a ó lé Aṣdodu jáde, a ó sì fa Ekroni tu kúrò.
5 What disaster is coming to you Philistines, you sea-people who live along the coast and in the land of Canaan! The Lord has passed judgment on you. I will destroy you—there will be no survivors.
Ègbé ni fún ẹ̀yin tí ń gbé etí Òkun, ẹ̀yin ènìyàn ara Kereti; ọ̀rọ̀ Olúwa dojúkọ ọ́, ìwọ Kenaani, ilẹ̀ àwọn ara Filistini. “Èmi yóò pa yín run, ẹnìkan kò sì ní ṣẹ́kù nínú yín.”
6 Your seacoast will become pastures, with meadows for shepherds and sheep pens for flocks.
Ilẹ̀ náà ní etí Òkun, ni ibùgbé àwọn ará Kereti, ni yóò jẹ́ ibùjókòó fún àwọn olùṣọ́-àgùntàn àti agbo àgùntàn.
7 It will belong to those who remain of the people of Judah. They will graze their flocks there, and the shepherds will sleep in the abandoned houses of Ashkelon. For the Lord their God will be with them and make them prosperous again.
Agbègbè náà yóò sì jẹ́ ti ìyókù àwọn ilé Juda, níbẹ̀ ni wọn yóò sì ti rí koríko fún ẹran. Ní ilé Aṣkeloni ni wọn yóò dùbúlẹ̀ ni àṣálẹ́. Olúwa Ọlọ́run wọn yóò bẹ̀ wọn wò, yóò sì yí ìgbèkùn wọn padà.
8 I have heard the mocking taunts of the Moabites and the scornful derision of the Ammonites who have insulted my people and made threats against their territory.
“Èmi ti gbọ́ ẹ̀gàn Moabu, àti ẹlẹ́yà àwọn Ammoni, àwọn tó kẹ́gàn àwọn ènìyàn mi, tí wọ́n sì ti gbé ara wọn ga sí agbègbè wọn.
9 Consequently, as I live, declares the Lord Almighty, the God of Israel, the Moabites will become like Sodom, and the Ammonites like Gomorrah. Their land will become a place of weeds and salt pits and ruins forever. Those who remain of my people will plunder them and occupy their land.
Nítorí náà, bí Èmi tí wà,” ni Olúwa àwọn ọmọ-ogun, Ọlọ́run àwọn Israẹli wí, “nítòótọ́ Moabu yóò dàbí Sodomu, àti Ammoni yóò sì dàbí Gomorra, ibi tí ó kún fún yèrèpè, àti ìhó iyọ̀ àti ìdahoro títí láéláé. Ìyókù àwọn ènìyàn mi yóò kó wọn; àwọn tí ó sì yọ nínú ewu ní orílẹ̀-èdè mi ni yóò jogún ilẹ̀ wọn.”
10 This is what they will receive for their pride because they mocked and threatened the people of the Lord Almighty.
Èyí ni ohun tí wọn yóò gbà padà nítorí ìgbéraga wọn, nítorí wọ́n kẹ́gàn, wọn sì ti fi àwọn ènìyàn Olúwa àwọn ọmọ-ogun ṣe ẹlẹ́yà.
11 The Lord will make them terribly afraid as he starves to death all the gods of the land. Every nation will worship the Lord wherever they are—all around the world.
Olúwa yóò jẹ́ ìbẹ̀rù fún wọn; nígbà tí Òun bá pa gbogbo òrìṣà ilẹ̀ náà run. Orílẹ̀-èdè láti etí odò yóò máa sìn, olúkúlùkù láti ilẹ̀ rẹ̀ wá.
12 You Ethiopians will be killed by the sword.
“Ẹ̀yin Etiopia pẹ̀lú, a ó fi idà mi pa yín.”
13 The Lord will strike the Assyrians in the north and destroy them. He will make Nineveh desolate, a dry wasteland like the desert.
Òun yóò sì na ọwọ́ rẹ̀ sí apá àríwá, yóò sì pa Asiria run, yóò sì sọ Ninefe di ahoro, àti di gbígbẹ bí aginjù.
14 Herds will lie down in the middle of the city. It will become the home for every kind of wild animal. Eagle owls and screech owls will roost on its columns. Their calls will echo through the windows. Rubble will block the doors, and the cedar woodwork will be exposed.
Agbo ẹran yóò sì dùbúlẹ̀ ni àárín rẹ̀, àti gbogbo ẹranko àwọn orílẹ̀-èdè. Òwìwí aginjù àti ti n kígbe ẹyẹ òwìwí yóò wọ bí ẹyẹ ni ọwọ̀n rẹ̀. Ohùn wọn yóò kọrin ni ojú fèrèsé, ìdahoro yóò wà nínú ìloro ẹnu-ọ̀nà, òun yóò sì ṣẹ́ ọ̀pá kedari sílẹ̀.
15 This is what will happen to this triumphant city that thought it was so secure. “Look at me!” it said proudly to itself. “There is no city as great as me!” But it has become a desolate place—just a home for wild animals. Everyone who passes by will point their finger and laugh in derision.
