Zechariah 1
1 The Lord sent a message to Zechariah the prophet, son of Berekiah, son of Iddo, in the eighth month of the second year of king Darius' reign, saying:
No oitavo mês do segundo ano de Dario, a palavra do SENHOR veio ao profeta Zacarias, filho de Berequias, filho de Ido, dizendo:
2 The Lord was very angry with your forefathers.
O SENHOR se irou muito contra vossos pais.
3 So tell the people this: Return to me, and I will return to you, says the Lord Almighty.
Portanto dize-lhes: Assim diz o SENHOR dos exércitos: Voltai-vos a mim, diz o SENHOR dos exércitos, e eu me voltarei a vós, diz o SENHOR dos exércitos.
4 You must not be like your forefathers. They were told by previous prophets: Give up your evil ways, and the evil things you do. But they would not listen or pay any attention to me, says the Lord.
E não sejais como vossos pais, aos quais os profetas antigos clamavam, dizendo: Assim diz o SENHOR dos exércitos: Convertei-vos de vossos maus caminhos e de vossos maus atos; porém não escutaram, nem me deram ouvidos, diz o SENHOR.
5 Where are your forefathers now? And the prophets, did they live forever?
Onde estão vossos pais? E os profetas, vivem eles para sempre?
6 But didn't all my instructions and warnings that I ordered my servants the prophets to communicate, didn't all that I said happen to your forefathers? So they repented and said, “What the Lord Almighty planned to do to us was what we deserved because of our ways and our actions. He did what he said he would.”
Porém quanto às minhas palavras e meus estatutos que havia mandado a meus servos os profetas, não alcançaram a vossos pais? Assim eles, arrependendo-se, diziam: Tal como o SENHOR dos exércitos planejou fazer segundo nossos caminhos e nossos antos, assim ele fez conosco.
7 The Lord sent a message to Zechariah the prophet, son of Berekiah, son of Iddo, on the twenty-fourth day of the eleventh month (the month of Shebat) of the second year of king Darius' reign:
No vigésimo quarto dia do décimo primeiro mês (que é o mês de Sebate), no ano segundo de Dario, a palavra do SENHOR veio ao profeta Zacarias, filho de Berequias, filho de Ido, dizendo:
8 During the night I saw a man sitting on a red horse that stood among some myrtle trees in a narrow valley. Behind him were red, brown, and white horses with their riders.
Vi de noite, e eis um homem montado sobre um cavalo vermelho, parado entre as murtas que estavam num vale profundo; e atrás dele estavam cavalos vermelhos, castanhos, e brancos.
9 I asked him, “My lord, what are these?” The angel I was talking to replied, “I will show you.”
E eu disse: Meu senhor, o que são estes? E o anjo que falava comigo me disse: Eu te mostrarei o que estes são.
10 The man who was there among the myrtle trees said, “These are the ones the Lord has sent out to patrol the earth.”
Então o homem que estava entre os murtas respondeu, dizendo: Estes são os que o SENHOR enviou para andarem pela terra.
11 The riders reported to the angel of the Lord who was among the myrtle trees, “We have been patrolling the earth and saw that the whole earth has been pacified.”
E eles responderam ao anjo do SENHOR que estava entre os murtas, e disseram: Nós já andamos pela terra, e eis que toda a terra está tranquila e quieta.
12 Then the angel of the Lord said, “Lord Almighty, how long will it be before you have mercy on Jerusalem and the cities of Judah which you have been angry with for the past seventy years?”
Então o anjo do SENHOR disse: Ó SENHOR dos exércitos, até quando não terás compaixão de Jerusalém e das cidades de Judá, contra as quais ficaste irado estes setenta anos?
13 So the Lord replied to the angel I was talking to with kind and comforting words.
E o SENHOR respondeu ao anjo que falava comigo palavras boas, palavras de consolo.
14 Then the angel I was talking with told me, This is what you are to announce. The Lord Almighty says this: I am jealously protective of Jerusalem and Mount Zion,
E o anjo que falava comigo me disse: Fala em voz alta, dizendo: Assim diz o SENHOR dos exércitos: Tenho grande zelo por Jerusalém e por Sião;
15 and I am extremely angry with the arrogant nations who think they are secure. I was only a little angry with my people, but they made the punishment far worse.
E tenho muito grande ira contra as nações tranquilas; porque eu estava pouco irado, porém elas pioraram o mal.
16 Therefore this is what the Lord says: I have returned to be merciful to Jerusalem. My Temple shall be rebuilt there, as well as the city, declares the Lord Almighty.
Portanto assim diz o SENHOR: Eu me voltarei a Jerusalém com misericórdia; minha casa será reconstruída nela, diz o SENHOR dos exércitos, e a corda de medir será estendida sobre Jerusalém.
17 Announce this as well, says the Lord Almighty: Prosperity will flood out of my cities. I the Lord will comfort Zion, and Jerusalem will be my chosen city.
Fala em voz alta mais, dizendo: Assim diz o SENHOR dos exércitos: Minhas cidades novamente transbordarão de prosperidade; porque o SENHOR novamente consolará a Sião, e novamente escolherá a Jerusalém.
18 Then I looked and saw four animal horns.
Depois levantei meus olhos, e olhei, e eis que havia quatro chifres.
19 “What are these?” I asked the angel I was talking to. “These are the horns that scattered Judah, Israel, and Jerusalem,” he replied.
E perguntei ao anjo que falava comigo: O que são estes? E ele me disse: Estes são os chifres que dissiparam Judá, a Israel, e Jerusalém.
20 Then the Lord showed me four craftsmen.
E o SENHOR me mostrou quatro ferreiros.
21 “What are these men coming to do?” I asked. The angel replied, “The four horns—these nations—scattered Judah, humbling the people so that they could not lift up their heads. These craftsmen have to come to terrify these nations, and to destroy them—those who used their power against the land of Judah, scattering the people.”
Então eu disse: O que estes vêm a fazer? E ele falou, dizendo: Estes são os chifres que dispersaram Judá, de modo que ninguém levantava sua cabeça. Estes [ferreiros] vieram para derrubar os chifres das nações, que levantaram [seus] chifres contra a terra de Judá para dispersá-la.
