Zechariah 2
1 Then I looked again and I saw a man with a measuring line in his hand.
Und ich hob meine Augen auf und sah: und siehe, ein Mann, und eine Meßschnur war in seiner Hand.
2 “Where are you going?” I asked him. “I'm going to Jerusalem to measure its width and length,” he replied.
Und ich sprach: Wohin gehst du? Und er sprach zu mir: Jerusalem zu messen, um zu sehen, wie groß seine Breite und wie groß seine Länge ist.
3 The angel I was talking to came forward and another angel came to meet him
Und siehe, der Engel, der mit mir redete, ging aus; und ein anderer Engel ging aus, ihm entgegen.
4 and told him, “Run, and tell the young man that Jerusalem will have so many people and farm animals that it will be too big to have walls.”
Und er sprach zu ihm: Laufe, rede zu diesem Jüngling und sprich: Als offene Stadt wird Jerusalem bewohnt werden [O. bleiben, daliegen] wegen der Menge Menschen und Vieh in seiner Mitte.
5 The Lord declares, I myself will be a wall of fire all around the city, and I will be the glory inside it.
Und ich, spricht Jehova, werde ihm eine feurige Mauer sein ringsum, und werde zur Herrlichkeit sein in seiner Mitte. -
6 Run! Run! Run away from the northern land, says the Lord, because I have scattered you to the four winds of heaven.
Hui! Hui! fliehet aus dem Lande des Nordens! spricht Jehova; denn nach den vier Winden [Eig. wie die vier Winde] des Himmels breite ich euch aus [And. üb.: habe ich euch zerstreut, ] spricht Jehova.
7 Run away, people of Zion! All of you who live in Babylon must escape.
Hui! entrinne, Zion, die du wohnst bei der Tochter Babels!
8 For this is what the Lord Almighty said: Afterwards the glorious Lord sent me against the nations that plundered you—for those who touch you touch the apple of his eye.
Denn so spricht Jehova der Heerscharen: Nach der Herrlichkeit hat er mich zu den Nationen gesandt, die euch geplündert haben; denn wer euch antastet, tastet seinen Augapfel an.
9 I will raise my hand against them and their former slaves will plunder them. Then you will know the Lord Almighty has sent me.
Denn siehe, ich werde meine Hand über sie schwingen, und sie werden denen zum Raube sein, welche ihnen dienten; und ihr werdet erkennen, daß Jehova der Heerscharen mich gesandt hat. -
10 Sing in celebration, people of Zion, for I am coming to live with you, declares the Lord.
Jubele und freue dich, Tochter Zion! denn siehe, ich komme und werde in deiner Mitte wohnen, spricht Jehova.
11 Many nations will become believers in Lord on that day, and they shall be my people. I will live among you, and you will know the Lord Almighty has sent me to you.
Und an jenem Tage werden viele Nationen sich an Jehova anschließen, und sie werden mein Volk sein; und ich werde in deiner Mitte wohnen, und du wirst erkennen, daß Jehova der Heerscharen mich zu dir gesandt hat.
12 The people of Judah will be the Lord's special people in the holy land, and he will once again choose Jerusalem as his special city.
Und Jehova wird Juda als sein Erbteil besitzen [O. in Besitz nehmen] in dem heiligen Lande und wird Jerusalem noch erwählen.
13 Be silent before the Lord, everyone, for he has risen from the holy place where he lives.
Alles Fleisch schweige [Eig. Still, alles Fleisch] vor Jehova! denn er hat sich aufgemacht aus seiner heiligen Wohnung.
