Psalms 99

1 The Lord reigns; let the nations tremble! He sits on his throne above the cherubim; let the earth shake!

L'Éternel règne, les peuples tremblent; Il est assis sur les Chérubins, la terre est ébranlée.

2 The Lord rules supreme in Zion, he is sovereign over all the nations.

L'Éternel est grand en Sion, et élevé au-dessus de tous les peuples:

3 Let them praise his greatness, and respect him for who he is—for he is holy,

qu'ils chantent Ton nom grand et redoutable, Il est saint!

4 having kingly power. You love justice; you make impartial decisions. You have made sure everything is done in fairness and according to what's right.

et la force du Roi qui aime la justice! Tu as fondé l'équité, et créé en Jacob la justice et le droit.

5 Give respect to the Lord our God! Bow down at his feet, for he is holy!

Exaltez l'Éternel, notre Dieu, et vous prosternez sur le marchepied de son trône! Il est saint!

6 Moses and Aaron were among his priests; Samuel also prayed to him. They called out to the Lord for help, and he answered them.

Moïse et Aaron, ses Lévites, et Samuel qui invoquait son nom, implorèrent l'Éternel, et Il les exauça.

7 He spoke to the people from the pillar of cloud, and they kept the laws and decrees he gave them.

Il leur parla dans la colonne de nuée; ils gardèrent ses commandements, et l'ordonnance qu'il leur avait donnée.

8 Lord our God, you answered them. You were a forgiving God to them, but you punished them when they did wrong.

Éternel, notre Dieu, tu les as exaucés; tu fus pour eux un Dieu qui pardonne, et un Dieu vengeur, à cause de leurs méfaits.

9 Honor the Lord our God, and worship at his holy mountain. For the Lord our God is holy!

Exaltez l'Éternel, notre Dieu, et prosternez-vous sur sa sainte montagne! Car Il est saint, l'Éternel, notre Dieu.
