Psalms 95
1 Come, let's sing for joy to the Lord! Let's shout in triumph to the rock of our salvation!
Auf, laßt uns Jahwe frohlocken, / Entgegenjauchzen dem Fels unsers Heils!
2 Let's go before him with thanksgiving! Let's sing loudly to him in celebration!
Laßt uns mit Dank vor sein Antlitz treten, / In Lobgesängen ihm jubeln!
3 For the Lord is a great God, a great king above all gods.
Denn ein großer Gott ist Jahwe, / Ein großer König über alle Götter.
4 He rules over the depths of the earth and the heights of the mountains.
In seiner Hand sind der Erde Tiefen, / Und sein sind die Gipfel der Berge.
5 The sea is his, because he made it; the dry land, because he formed it.
Sein ist das Meer, er hat es geschaffen, / Auch das Festland haben seine Hände gebildet.
6 Come, let's enter in and worship, let's kneel before the Lord our Creator.
Kommt, laßt uns anbeten und niederfallen, / Knien vor Jahwe, der uns erschaffen!
7 For he is our God, and we are the people he looks after like a shepherd, the flock he cares for. If you hear his voice calling you today,
Denn er ist unser Gott, / Und wir sind das Volk, das er weidet, / Die Herde, die er leitet mit seiner Hand, / Wenn ihr heut seiner Stimme gehorcht.
8 don't have a hard-hearted attitude, “as you did at Meribah, as you did that day at Massah in the desert,
"Verstockt doch nicht euer Herz, wie bei Merîba, / Wie am Tage von Massa in der Wüste,
9 when your forefathers provoked me, testing my patience, even though they had seen everything I'd done.
Wo eure Väter mich versuchten, / Mich prüften, obwohl sie mein Tun gesehn.
10 For forty years I was disgusted with that generation, and I said, ‘They are people who are unfaithful to me in their minds, and they refuse to accept my ways.’
Vierzig Jahre war mir dies Geschlecht zuwider. / Ich sprach: 'Ein irrendes Volk sind sie, / Das meine Wege nicht erkannt.'
11 So in my frustration I vowed, ‘They will certainly not enter my rest.’”
Drum schwur ich in meinem Zorn: / 'Wahrlich, sie sollen nicht kommen / Zu der Ruhstatt, die ich ihnen verheißen.'"
