Psalms 94
1 The Lord is a God of vengeance! God of vengeance, shine out!
¡Oh Yavé, ʼEL vengador! ¡Oh ʼEL vengador, resplandece!
2 Stand up, judge of the earth, and pay back those who are proud what they deserve.
¡Levántate, oh Juez de la tierra, Da la recompensa a los soberbios!
3 How long, Lord? How long will the wicked celebrate in triumph?
¿Hasta cuándo los perversos, oh Yavé, Hasta cuándo se gozarán los perversos?
4 How long will you let them pour out their arrogant words? How long will these evil people go on boasting?
Parlotean insolencias, hablan arrogancias. Se jactan todos los que cometen perversidad.
5 Lord, they crush your people; they oppress those you call your own.
A tu pueblo quebrantan, oh Yavé. Oprimen a tu heredad.
6 They kill widows and foreigners; they murder orphans.
Asesinan a la viuda y al extranjero, Y matan a los huérfanos.
7 They say, “The Lord can't see what we're doing. Israel's God doesn't pay any attention to us.”
Y dicen: El YA no ve, Ni discierne el ʼElohim de Jacob.
8 Take another look, you stupid people! Fools—when will you ever get the point?
Entiendan ustedes, necios del pueblo. ¿Cuándo entenderán ustedes los fatuos?
9 Do you think the creator of the ear can't hear? Do you think the maker of the eye can't see?
El que hizo el oído, ¿no escucha? El que formó el ojo, ¿no mira?
10 Do you think that the one who punishes nations won't punish you too? Do you think that the one who teaches human beings knowledge doesn't know anything?
El que amonesta a las naciones, ¿no reprenderá? El que enseña al hombre el saber, ¿no sabrá?
11 The Lord knows the thoughts of human beings—he knows they are pointless.
Yavé conoce los pensamientos del hombre, Que son vanidad.
12 Those you discipline are happy, Lord; those you teach from your Law.
¡Inmensamente feliz es el varón a quien Tú, oh YA, disciplinas, Y a quien Tú enseñas tu Ley!
13 You give them peace in days of trouble, until a pit is dug to trap the wicked.
Para darle descanso en los días de adversidad Mientras se cava una fosa para los perversos.
14 For the Lord will not give up on his people; he will not abandon his own.
Porque Yavé no abandonará a su pueblo, Ni desamparará a su heredad.
15 Justice will once again be based on what is right; those who are sincere will support it.
Porque el juicio volverá a ser justo, Y todos los rectos de corazón lo seguirán.
16 Who came to my defense against the wicked; who stood up for me against those who do evil?
¿Quién se levantará por mí contra los malhechores? ¿Quién se mantendrá en pie por mí contra los que practican perversidad?
17 If the Lord hadn't helped me, I would have soon gone down into the silence of the grave.
Si Yavé no me ayuda, Pronto mi alma moraría en el silencio.
18 I shouted out, “My foot's slipping!” and your trustworthy love, Lord, kept me from falling.
Si yo digo: ¡Mi pie resbala! Tu misericordia, oh Yavé, me sostendrá.
19 When my mind was full of worries, you comforted me and encouraged me.
Cuando mis inquietudes se multiplican dentro de mí, Tus consolaciones deleitan mi alma.
20 Can unjust judges really be on your side, Lord, when their corrupt use of the law causes misery?
¿Se aliará contigo el trono de iniquidad Que por medio de decretos cometa agravios?
21 They work together to destroy good people; they condemn those who are innocent to death.
Conspiran juntos contra la vida del justo Y condenan a muerte al inocente.
22 But the Lord protects me like a fortress; my God is the rock that keeps me safe.
Pero Yavé fue mi Fortaleza, Y mi ʼElohim, la Roca de mi refugio.
23 He will turn the wickedness of evil people back upon them; he will destroy them because of their sins; the Lord our God will destroy them.
Él devolverá sobre ellos su iniquidad Y los destruirá en su maldad. Yavé nuestro ʼElohim los destruirá.
