< Psalms 94 >
1 The Lord is a God of vengeance! God of vengeance, shine out!
Yaa Waaqayyo, Waaqa haaloo baaftu, Yaa Waaqa haaloo baaftu, ifii mulʼadhu.
2 Stand up, judge of the earth, and pay back those who are proud what they deserve.
Yaa Abbaa Murtii lafa kanaa kaʼi; of tuultotaaf illee waan isaanii malu kenni.
3 How long, Lord? How long will the wicked celebrate in triumph?
Yaa Waaqayyo, hamma yoomiitti warri hamoon, warri hamoon hamma yoomiitti burraaqu?
4 How long will you let them pour out their arrogant words? How long will these evil people go on boasting?
Isaan dubbii of tuulummaa gad roobsu; jalʼoonni hundinuu of dhiibuudhaan guutaman.
5 Lord, they crush your people; they oppress those you call your own.
Yaa Waaqayyo, isaan saba kee miidhu; handhuuraa kees ni hacuucu.
6 They kill widows and foreigners; they murder orphans.
Haadha hiyyeessaatii fi keessummaa ni gorraʼu; ijoollee abbaa hin qabnes ni ajjeesu.
7 They say, “The Lord can't see what we're doing. Israel's God doesn't pay any attention to us.”
Isaan, “Waaqayyo hin argu; Waaqni Yaaqoob hin qalbeeffatu” jedhu.
8 Take another look, you stupid people! Fools—when will you ever get the point?
Warri saba keessaa raatoftan mee hubadhaa; isin warri gowwoonni yoom ogeeyyii taatu?
9 Do you think the creator of the ear can't hear? Do you think the maker of the eye can't see?
Inni gurra uume sun hin dhagaʼuu? Inni ija uume hin argu?
10 Do you think that the one who punishes nations won't punish you too? Do you think that the one who teaches human beings knowledge doesn't know anything?
Inni saboota sirreessu sun hin adabuu? Inni nama barsiisu sun beekumsa hin qabuu?
11 The Lord knows the thoughts of human beings—he knows they are pointless.
Waaqayyo yaada namaa beeka; akka yaadni namaa faayidaa hin qabnes ni beeka.
12 Those you discipline are happy, Lord; those you teach from your Law.
Yaa Waaqayyo, namni ati adabdu, namni ati seera kee irraa barsiiftu eebbifamaa dha;
13 You give them peace in days of trouble, until a pit is dug to trap the wicked.
hamma hamootaaf boolli qotamutti, guyyaa rakkinaatti ati boqonnaa kennitaaf.
14 For the Lord will not give up on his people; he will not abandon his own.
Waaqayyo saba isaa hin gatuutii; inni akkana illee jedhee handhuuraa ofii isaa hin dhiisu.
15 Justice will once again be based on what is right; those who are sincere will support it.
Murtiin qajeelummaa irratti hundeeffama; toloonni hundinuus isa faana buʼu.
16 Who came to my defense against the wicked; who stood up for me against those who do evil?
Eenyutu hamootatti naa kaʼa? Eenyutu na cina dhaabatee warra jalʼina hojjetaniin morma?
17 If the Lord hadn't helped me, I would have soon gone down into the silence of the grave.
Utuu Waaqayyo na gargaaruu baatee, silaa yoona lubbuun koo boolla duʼaa keessa jirti.
18 I shouted out, “My foot's slipping!” and your trustworthy love, Lord, kept me from falling.
Yaa Waaqayyo yeroo ani, “Miilli koo mucucaateera” jedhetti, araarri kee ol qabee na dhaabe.
19 When my mind was full of worries, you comforted me and encouraged me.
Yommuu yaaddoon natti baayʼatetti, jajjabeessuun kee lubbuu koo gammachiise.
20 Can unjust judges really be on your side, Lord, when their corrupt use of the law causes misery?
Bulchitoonni hamoon, warri seeratti fayyadamanii jalʼina hojjetan si wajjin tokkummaa qabaachuu dandaʼuu?
21 They work together to destroy good people; they condemn those who are innocent to death.
Isaan tokkummaadhaan nama qajeelaatti kaʼanii nama yakka hin qabnetti duʼa muru.
22 But the Lord protects me like a fortress; my God is the rock that keeps me safe.
Waaqayyo garuu daʼoo, Waaqni koos, kattaa ani itti baqadhu naa taʼeera.
23 He will turn the wickedness of evil people back upon them; he will destroy them because of their sins; the Lord our God will destroy them.
Inni gatii cubbuu isaanii isaanumatti deebisa; sababii hammina isaaniitiif illee isaan balleessa; Waaqayyo Waaqni keenya isaan barbadeessa.
