< Psalms 92 >

1 A psalm. A song for the Sabbath day. How good it is to thank the Lord, to sing praises to you, Most High,
He himene, he waiata mo te ra Hapati.
2 to tell of your trustworthy love in the morning, and your faithfulness in the night,
Te whakakite i tou atawhai i te ata, i tou pono i nga po katoa;
3 to the music of a ten-stringed harp and the melody of a lyre.
I runga i te aho tekau, i te hatere; i te tangi huatau a te hapa.
4 You've made me so happy, Lord, because of all you've done for me! I sing for joy at what you've done!
5 Lord, what you do is amazing; your thoughts are very profound!
6 Only senseless people and fools don't know and understand this:
Ko te tangata poauau, kahore ia e matau; kahore hoki tenei e mohiotia e te kuware.
7 even though the wicked grow up quickly like grass, and even though people who do evil flourish, they will be destroyed forever!
Kia pihi ake nga whakaarokore ano he tarutaru, a kia tupu nga kaimahi katoa i te kino; he ngaromanga tena no ratou ake ake;
8 But you, Lord, rule on high forever.
Ko koe ia, e Ihowa, kei runga rawa ake ake.
9 Your enemies, Lord, your enemies will die; everyone who does evil will be destroyed!
10 But you have made me as powerful as a wild bull; you have anointed me with the best olive oil.
Otira ka ara i a koe toku haona, ka pera i to te kau maka: ka whakawahia ahau ki te hinu hou.
11 My eyes look with pleasure to see my enemies defeated; my ears have heard the downfall of those who tried to attack me.
Ka kite hoki toku kanohi i taku i hiahia ai ki runga ki oku hoariri, ka rongo oku taringa i taku i hiahia ai o te hunga kino e whakatika ana mai ki ahau.
12 Those who live right flourish like a palm tree; they grow tall like a cedar tree in Lebanon.
13 They are planted in the house of the Lord; they thrive in the courts of our God.
14 Even when they are old they will still produce fruit, staying fresh and green.
Ka whai hua tonu ratou ua hina: ki tonu i te wai, matomato tonu;
15 They will declare, “The Lord does what is right! He is my rock! There is no wrong in him!”
Hei whakakite i te tika o Ihowa: ko ia toku kohatu, kahore hoki ona he.
