Psalms 91
1 Those who live under the protection of the Most High are kept safe by the Almighty.
Yeye aishiye katika makazi ya Aliye Juu atakaa katika uvuli wa mwenyezi.
2 This is what I say about the Lord: “He is the one who defends and protects me. He is my God, and I trust in him.”
Nami nitasema kuhusu Yahwe, “Yeye ni kimbilio langu na ngome yangu, Mungu wangu, ambaye niaamini katika yeye.”
3 For he will save you from hidden traps and deadly diseases.
Kwa maana yeye atakuokoa dhidi ya mtego wa mwindaji na dhidi ya pigo liletalo mauti.
4 He will hide you under his feathers, and shelter you with his wings. His trustworthiness shields and protects you.
Yeye atakufunika kwa mbawa zake, na chini ya mbawa zake utapata kimbilio. Uaminifu wake ni ngao na ulinzi.
5 You will not be afraid of terror at night or an arrow that flies in the day,
Nawe hautaogopeshwa na vitisho wakati wa usiku, wala mishale ipaayo kwa siku,
6 or disease that attacks at night, or catastrophe that falls at noon.
wala pigo lizungukalo gizani, wala ugonjwa ujao wakati wa mchana.
7 A thousand may fall beside you, ten thousand die at your right hand, but you won't be harmed.
Maelfu waweza kuangukia upande wako na makumi elfu mkono wako wa kuume, lakini uovu hauwezi kukupata.
8 You only have to open your eyes and you will see how the wicked are repaid.
Wewe utatazama tu na kuona hukumu ya waovu.
9 Because you have made the Lord your protection, and the Most High your home,
Kwa kuwa Yahwe ni kimbilio langu! Umfanye Aliye Juu kuwa kimbilio lako pia.
10 nothing evil will happen to you; no plague will come near where you live.
Hakuna uovu utakao kushinda wewe; mateso hayatakuja karibu na nyumba yako.
11 For he will command his angels to take care of you in everything you do.
Maana yeye atawaelekeza malaika moja kwa moja kukulinda wewe, na kukuwekea ulinzi katika njia zako zote.
12 They will hold you up with their hands so you won't trip and fall down.
Nao watakuinua juu kwa mikono yao ili usiweze kujigonga mguu wako kwenye jiwe.
13 You will trample lions and snakes; you will tread young lions and serpents underfoot.
Utawaangamiza simba na nyoka chini ya miguu yako; utawakanyaga wana-simba na nyoka.
14 I will save anyone who loves me; I will protect anyone who accepts me.
Kwa sababu amejitoa kwangu, nitamuokoa. Nitamlinda kwa sababu yeye ni mwaminifu kwangu.
15 When they call out to me for help, I will answer; when they are in trouble, I will be with them. I will save and honor them.
Aniitapo, nitamjibu. Katika shida nitakuwa naye; nitampatia ushindi na nitamuheshimu.
16 I will grant them long lives, and show them my salvation.
Nitamtosheleza kwa maisha malefu na kumuonesha wokovu wangu.
