< Psalms 90 >

1 A prayer of Moses, the man of God. Lord, through every generation, you have been “home” for us!
Okusaba kwa Musa, omusajja wa Katonda. Ayi Mukama, obadde kifo kyaffe eky’okubeeramu emirembe gyonna.
2 Before the mountains were born, before you gave birth to the earth and the universe, from eternity past to eternity future, you are God.
Ensozi nga tezinnabaawo, n’ensi yonna nga tonnagitonda; okuva ku ntandikwa okutuusa ku nkomerero y’emirembe gyonna, ggwe Katonda.
3 You turn people back into dust, saying, “Return to dust, human beings.”
Omuntu omuzzaayo mu nfuufu, n’oyogera nti, “Mudde mu nfuufu, mmwe abaana b’abantu.”
4 In your eyes, a thousand years are like a day that's already gone; like a few passing hours of the night.
Kubanga emyaka olukumi, gy’oli giri ng’olunaku olumu olwayita, oba ng’ekisisimuka mu kiro.
5 You bring people's lives to a sudden end, like dreams that vanish. They are like grass that grows up in the morning—
Obeera n’obamalirawo ddala nga bali mu tulo otw’okufa. Ku makya baba ng’omuddo omuto.
6 it sprouts in the morning, fresh and new, but by the evening it is withered and dead.
Ku makya guba munyirivu, naye olw’eggulo ne guwotoka ne gukala.
7 We are burned up by your anger, terrified by your fury.
Ddala ddala obusungu bwo butumalawo, n’obukambwe bwo bututiisa nnyo.
8 You have set out our sins before you—our secret sins are visible in the light of your presence.
Ebyonoono byaffe obyanjadde mu maaso go, n’ebyo bye tukoze mu kyama obyanise awo w’oli.
9 Our lives fade away under your anger, coming to an end as quickly as a sigh.
Ddala ddala tumala ennaku z’obulamu bwaffe zonna ng’otunyiigidde; tukomekkereza emyaka gyaffe n’okusinda.
10 We live for seventy years—eighty if we have the strength. But even in the prime of life all that we have is hardship and suffering. Soon our lives are over and we're gone.
Obungi bw’ennaku zaffe gy’emyaka nsanvu, oba kinaana bwe tubaamu amaanyi. Naye emyaka egyo gijjula ennaku n’okutegana, era giyita mangu, olwo nga tuggwaawo.
11 Who can know the power of your anger? Who understands your fury so you can be shown reverence?
Ani amanyi amaanyi g’obusungu bwo? Kubanga ekiruyi kyo kingi ng’ekitiibwa kye tusaana okukuwa bwe kyenkana.
12 Teach us to value every one of our days so we can live wisely!
Otuyigirize okutegeeranga obulungi ennaku zaffe, tulyoke tubeere n’omutima ogw’amagezi.
13 Lord, how long will it be before you come back to us and have pity on us your servants?
Ayi Mukama, komawo gye tuli. Olitusuula kutuusa ddi? Abaweereza bo bakwatirwe ekisa.
14 Show us every morning your trustworthy love so we may be happy, full of joy throughout our lives.
Tujjuze okwagala kwo okutaggwaawo ku makya, tulyoke tuyimbenga nga tujaguza n’essanyu era tusanyukenga obulamu bwaffe bwonna.
15 Make us glad for as many days as you made us sad, for all the years we suffered!
Tusanyuse, Ayi Mukama, okumala ennaku nga ze tumaze ng’otubonyaabonya, era n’okumala emyaka nga gye tumaze nga tulaba ennaku.
16 May we, your servants, see you at work for us again; may our children see your glory.
Ebikolwa byo biragibwe abaweereza bo, n’abaana baabwe balabe ekitiibwa kyo.
17 May our Lord God be pleased with us, blessing what we do, blessing what we do.
Okusaasira kwo, Ayi Mukama Katonda waffe, kubeerenga ku ffe, otusobozesenga okutuukiriza obulungi emirimu gyaffe; weewaawo, otusobozesenga okutuukiriza obulungi emirimu gyaffe.
