Psalms 85
1 For the music director. A psalm of the descendants of Korah Lord, you have shown your kindness to your land; you have restored Jacob's prosperity.
| למנצח לבני-קרח מזמור ב רצית יהוה ארצך שבת שבות (שבית) יעקב |
2 You took away your people's guilt; you forgave all their sins. (Selah)
| נשאת עון עמך כסית כל-חטאתם סלה |
3 You took back your fury; you turned away from your fierce anger.
| אספת כל-עברתך השיבות מחרון אפך |
4 Bring us back to you, God of our salvation! Take away your anger towards us.
| שובנו אלהי ישענו והפר כעסך עמנו |
5 Are you going to be furious with us forever? Will you stay angry with us for all future generations?
| הלעולם תאנף-בנו תמשך אפך לדר ודר |
6 Won't you restore our lives so your people can find happiness in you?
| הלא-אתה תשוב תחינו ועמך ישמחו-בך |
7 Show us your trustworthy love, Lord! Give us your salvation!
| הראנו יהוה חסדך וישעך תתן-לנו |
8 Let me hear what God has to say. God speaks peace to his people, to those who trust in him. But they must not return to their foolish ways.
| אשמעה-- מה-ידבר האל יהוה כי ידבר שלום--אל-עמו ואל-חסידיו ואל-ישובו לכסלה |
9 Truly God's salvation is with those who do as he says. His glorious presence will live with us in our land.
| אך קרוב ליראיו ישעו לשכן כבוד בארצנו |
10 Trustworthiness and faithful love join together; goodness and peace have kissed each other.
| חסד-ואמת נפגשו צדק ושלום נשקו |
11 What is true grows up from the earth; what is right looks down from heaven.
| אמת מארץ תצמח וצדק משמים נשקף |
12 The Lord will certainly give us all that is good, and our land will produce fine crops.
| גם-יהוה יתן הטוב וארצנו תתן יבולה |
13 Truth and right go ahead of him to prepare a path for him to walk on.
| צדק לפניו יהלך וישם לדרך פעמיו |
