Psalms 85

1 For the music director. A psalm of the descendants of Korah Lord, you have shown your kindness to your land; you have restored Jacob's prosperity.

Koran lasten Psalmi, edelläveisaajalle. Herra, sinä kuin (muinen) olit armollinen sinun maakunnalles, ja Jakobin vangit lunastit,

2 You took away your people's guilt; you forgave all their sins. (Selah)

Sinä anteeksi annoit kansas pahat teot, ja kaikki heidän syntinsä peitit, (Sela)

3 You took back your fury; you turned away from your fierce anger.

Sinä lepytit kaiken vihas, ja käänsit sinuas vihas julmuudesta.

4 Bring us back to you, God of our salvation! Take away your anger towards us.

Käännä meitä, meidän autuutemme Jumala, ja pane pois vihas meistä.

5 Are you going to be furious with us forever? Will you stay angry with us for all future generations?

Tahdotkos siis ijankaikkisesti olla vihainen meidän päällemme? eli vihas pitää sukukunnasta sukukuntaan?

6 Won't you restore our lives so your people can find happiness in you?

Etkös käänny, ja meitä virvoita, että kansas sinussa iloitsis?

7 Show us your trustworthy love, Lord! Give us your salvation!

Herra, osoita meille armos, ja sinun autuutes anna meille.

8 Let me hear what God has to say. God speaks peace to his people, to those who trust in him. But they must not return to their foolish ways.

Jospa minä kuulisin, mitä Herra Jumala puhuu, että hän rauhan lupasi kansallensa ja pyhillensä, ettei he hulluuteen joutuisi.

9 Truly God's salvation is with those who do as he says. His glorious presence will live with us in our land.

10 Trustworthiness and faithful love join together; goodness and peace have kissed each other.

11 What is true grows up from the earth; what is right looks down from heaven.

Että totuus maasta vesois, ja vanhurskaus taivaasta katsois;

12 The Lord will certainly give us all that is good, and our land will produce fine crops.

Että myös meille Herra hyvin tekis, ja meidän maamme hedemänsä antais;

13 Truth and right go ahead of him to prepare a path for him to walk on.

Että vanhurskaus sittenkin hänen edessänsä pysyis ja menestyis.
