< Psalms 82 >
1 A psalm of Asaph. God stands in the midst of his great assembly to judge among the gods.
Ko e Saame ʻa ʻAsafi. ʻOku ʻafio ʻae ʻOtua ʻi he fakataha ʻoe kau mālohi; ʻoku ne fakamaau ʻi he lotolotonga ʻoe ngaahi ʻotua.
2 How long will you make unfair judgments and show favoritism to the wicked? (Selah)
“ʻE fēfē hono fuoloa mo hoʻomou fakamaau taʻetotonu, pea filifilimānako ki he kakai angahala?” (Sila)
3 Defend the poor and orphans; support the rights of those who are oppressed and suffering.
“Fakamaau ʻae paea mo e tamai mate: fai angatonu ki he mamahi mo e masiva.
4 Rescue the poor and those unable to help themselves; save them from the clutches of evil people.
Fakahaofi ʻae masiva mo e paea: fakamoʻui ʻakinautolu mei he nima ʻoe kau angahala.”
5 They don't have any wisdom; they live in the dark; the foundations of the earth are shaken.
ʻOku ʻikai te nau ʻilo, pea ʻoku ʻikai te nau fie ʻilo; ʻoku nau ʻalu pē ʻi he poʻuli: kuo ueʻi ʻae ngaahi tuʻunga kotoa pē ʻo māmani.
6 I say, “You are gods; all of you are children of the Most High.
Naʻaku pehē, “Ko e ngaahi ʻotua ʻakimoutolu; pea ko e fānau ʻae Fungani Māʻolunga ʻakimoutolu kotoa pē.
7 But you will die like any human being, you will fall like any other leader.”
Ka temou mate ʻo hangē ko e kau tangata, pea tō ʻo hangē ko e tokotaha ʻoe houʻeiki.”
8 Stand up, Lord, and judge the earth, for all the nations belong to you.
Tuʻu hake, ʻE ʻOtua, fakamaau ʻa māmani: he te ke maʻu ʻae puleʻanga kotoa pē.
