Psalms 76
1 For the music director. To be accompanied by stringed instruments. A psalm of Asaph. A song. God is famous in Judah; his reputation is great throughout Israel.
Al maestro de coro. Para instrumentos de cuerda. Salmo de Asaf. Dios se ha dado a conocer en Judá; grande es su Nombre en Israel.
2 He lives in Jerusalem; his home is in Zion.
Ha levantado en Salem su tabernáculo y su morada en Sión.
3 There he broke the flaming arrows, the shields, the swords, and the weapons of war. (Selah)
Allí quebró las fulmíneas saetas de los arcos y el escudo y la espada y la guerra.
4 You shine with light; you are more majestic than the everlasting mountains.
Envuelto en luz Tú, Majestuoso, descendiste desde los montes eternos.
5 Our most courageous enemies have been plundered. They sleep the sleep of death. Even the strongest of them could not raise a hand against us.
Despojados quedaron los de robusto corazón; duermen su sueño; no hallaron sus manos los hombres fuertes;
6 At your command, God of Jacob, both horse and rider fell down dead.
carros y caballos se paralizaron ante tu amenaza, oh Dios de Jacob.
7 You are terrifying—who can stand before you when you are angry?
Terrible eres Tú y ¿quién podrá estar de pie ante Ti cuando se encienda tu ira?
8 From heaven you announced judgment. Everyone on earth was afraid and stood still,
Desde el cielo hiciste oír tu juicio; la tierra tembló y quedó en silencio,
9 when you stood up to judge, to save the oppressed people of the earth. (Selah)
al levantarse Dios a juicio, para salvar a todos los humildes de la tierra.
10 Even human anger against you makes you look glorious, for you wear it alike a crown.
Hasta la furia de Edom redundará en tu gloria, y los sobrevivientes de Emat te festejarán:
11 Make your promises to God and be sure to keep them. Everyone bring gifts to the awe-inspiring one.
haced votos y cumplidlos a Yahvé, vuestro Dios, y todos los pueblos en derredor suyo traigan ofrendas al Temible;
12 For he humbles proud leaders; he terrifies the kings of the earth.
a El, que quita el aliento a los príncipes; al Terrible para los reyes de la tierra.
