Psalms 75

1 For the music director. A psalm of Asaph. According to “Do Not Destroy.” A song. We thank you, God, we thank you because you are close beside us. People tell about the wonderful things you have done.

Dem Sangmeister, nach (der Weise von: ) "Verderbe nicht!" / Ein Psalm Asafs; ein Lied.

2 God says, “When the time I have decided comes, I will judge fairly.

Wir danken dir, Elohim, wir danken; / Denn deine Hilfe ist nahe, und deine Wunder erzählt man.

3 When the earth quakes, and all its inhabitants tremble, I am the one who holds it steady. (Selah)

Denn "Ich nehme die rechte Stunde wahr / Dann will ich in Gerechtigkeit richten.

4 To those who boast I say, ‘Don't boast!’ I tell the wicked, ‘Don't be proud!’

Mag auch die Erde vor Furcht erbeben mit allen, die darauf wohnen: / Ich halte doch selbst ihre Säulen fest. (Sela)

5 No, don't be proud and arrogant, insulting heaven.”

Den Törichten sag ich: 'Seid nicht töricht!' / Den Frevlern: 'Hebt euer Horn nicht hoch!'

6 For no one, from the east to the west, or from the wilderness, should think so highly of themselves.

Hebt nicht euer Horn zur Himmelshöhe, / Redet nicht stolz mit gerecktem Haupt!"

7 God is the one who decides—who he will bring down and who he will lift up.

Denn nicht von Osten, nicht von Westen, / Nicht von der Wüste her kommt Hilfe —

8 For the Lord has a cup in his hand, full of bubbling wine mixed with spices. He pours it out, and all the wicked drink it deeply, down to the last drop.

Nein, nur Elohim schafft Recht: / Diesen erniedrigt, jenen erhöht er.

9 But I will speak about you forever. I will sing praises to the God of Jacob.

Ein Becher ist ja in Jahwes Hand: / Er schäumt von Wein, ist reichlich gemischt. / Draus schenkt er ein; ja selbst seine Hefen / Müssen schlürfen und trinken alle Frevler auf Erden.

10 For God says, “I will break the power of the wicked; but I will give my support to those who do what is good.”

Ich aber will ewiglich jauchzen, / Dem Gott Jakobs will ich lobsingen. "Alle Hörner der Frevler will ich zerbrechen — / Hoch raget das Horn der Gerechten."
