Psalms 75
1 For the music director. A psalm of Asaph. According to “Do Not Destroy.” A song. We thank you, God, we thank you because you are close beside us. People tell about the wonderful things you have done.
Jusqu'à la Fin. Ne détruis pas; psaume et cantique d'Asaph, Nous te rendrons grâces, ô Dieu, nous te rendrons grâces, et nous invoquerons ton nom. Je raconterai toutes tes merveilles.
2 God says, “When the time I have decided comes, I will judge fairly.
Quand j'aurai pris mon temps, je jugerai avec droiture.
3 When the earth quakes, and all its inhabitants tremble, I am the one who holds it steady. (Selah)
La terre s'est liquéfiée avec tous ceux qui l'habitent, et moi j'ai raffermi ses colonnes.
4 To those who boast I say, ‘Don't boast!’ I tell the wicked, ‘Don't be proud!’
J'ai dit aux pervers: Gardez-vous de faire le mal; et aux pécheurs: Ne levez pas le front.
5 No, don't be proud and arrogant, insulting heaven.”
Ne levez pas le front avec orgueil; ne parlez pas injustement contre Dieu.
6 For no one, from the east to the west, or from the wilderness, should think so highly of themselves.
Car le secours ne viendra ni de l'Orient, ni du Couchant, ni des montagnes du désert.
7 God is the one who decides—who he will bring down and who he will lift up.
Car Dieu seul est le juge: il humilie celui-ci, il exalte celui-là.
8 For the Lord has a cup in his hand, full of bubbling wine mixed with spices. He pours it out, and all the wicked drink it deeply, down to the last drop.
Il y a dans la main du Seigneur un calice plein de vin sans mélange. Il l'incline çà et là, mais jamais il ne l'épuise jusqu'à la lie; tous les pécheurs de la terre en boiront.
9 But I will speak about you forever. I will sing praises to the God of Jacob.
Pour moi, je tressaillirai d'une allégresse perpétuelle; je chanterai au Dieu de Jacob.
10 For God says, “I will break the power of the wicked; but I will give my support to those who do what is good.”
Et je briserai le front de tous les pécheurs, et le front des justes sera exalté.
