< Psalms 74 >

1 A psalm (maskil) of Asaph. God, why have you rejected us? Is it forever? Why does your anger burn so hot against the sheep of your own field?
Maskili ti Asafu. Ọlọ́run, èéṣe tí ìwọ fi kọ̀ wá sílẹ̀ títí láé? Èéṣe tí ìbínú rẹ̀ fi dìde sí àwọn àgùntàn pápá rẹ?
2 Remember the people you made your own long ago, the tribe you redeemed and made your own. Remember too Mount Zion, the place where you live.
Rántí àwọn ènìyàn tí ìwọ ti rà nígbà àtijọ́, ẹ̀yà ilẹ̀ ìní rẹ, tí ìwọ ti rà padà. Òkè Sioni, níbi tí ìwọ ń gbé.
3 Come and walk through the complete devastation. The enemy has totally destroyed your Temple.
Yí ẹsẹ̀ rẹ padà sí ìparun ayérayé wọn, gbogbo ìparun yìí tí ọ̀tá ti mú wá sí ibi mímọ́.
4 The enemy shouted in triumph right where you met with us. There they set up their war banners as signs of their victory.
Àwọn ọ̀tá rẹ ń bú ramúramù láàrín ènìyàn rẹ, wọ́n ń gbé àsíá wọn sókè fún àmì.
5 They acted like men chopping down a forest with axes.
Wọ́n ń rí bí ọkùnrin tí ó gbé àáké rẹ̀ sókè láti gé igi igbó dídí.
6 With axes and hammers they smashed in the carved wooden panels.
Ṣùgbọ́n nísinsin yìí, iṣẹ́ ọnà fínfín, ni wọ́n fi àáké wó lulẹ̀ ní ẹ̀ẹ̀kan náà.
7 Then they set fire to your Temple, burning it to the ground. They defiled the place where you live, the place that bears your name.
Wọ́n sun ibi mímọ́ rẹ lulẹ̀ wọ́n ba ibùgbé orúkọ rẹ jẹ́.
8 They said to themselves, “Let's destroy it all!” So they burned down every place where God was worshiped throughout the land.
Wọ́n wí ní ọkàn wọn. “Àwa ó run wọ́n pátápátá!” Wọ́n sun gbogbo ibi ìjọ́sìn Ọlọ́run ní ilẹ̀ náà.
9 We no longer see any signs. There are no prophets left. And no one among us knows how long this will last.
A kò fún wa ní àmì iṣẹ́ ìyanu kankan; kò sí wòlíì kankan ẹnìkankan wa kò mọ ìgbà tí eléyìí yóò dà.
10 How long will the enemy ridicule you, God? Will they insult your character forever?
Àwọn ọ̀tá yóò ti kùn sí ọ pẹ́ tó, Ọlọ́run? Àwọn ọ̀tá yóò ha ba orúkọ rẹ jẹ́ títí láé?
11 Why do you hold back from doing something? Take action and destroy them!
Èéṣe tí ìwọ fi dá ọwọ́ rẹ dúró, ọwọ́ ọ̀tún rẹ? Mú un kúrò nínú ìṣẹ́po aṣọ rẹ kí o sì run wọ́n!
12 But you, God, are our king from long ago. You have saved us many times in the land.
Ṣùgbọ́n ìwọ Ọlọ́run ni ọba mi láti ìgbà pípẹ́; Ó mú ìgbàlà wá sórí ilẹ̀ ayé.
13 You were the one who split apart the sea by your strength; you broke the heads of the sea monsters.
Ìwọ ni ó la òkun sílẹ̀ nípa agbára rẹ; ìwọ fọ́ orí ẹ̀mí búburú nínú omi.
14 You were the one who crushed the heads of Leviathan, and you gave its body to the desert animals to eat.
Ìwọ fọ́ orí Lefitani túútúú, o sì fi ṣe oúnjẹ fun àwọn ẹ̀dá tí ń gbé inú ijù tìrẹ ni ọ̀sán, tìrẹ sì ni alẹ́ pẹ̀lú; ìwọ fi ìdí oòrùn àti òṣùpá lélẹ̀.
15 You were the one who made springs and rivers flow with water. You made permanent rivers dry up.
Ìwọ ya orísun omi àti ìṣàn omi; Ìwọ mú kí odò tó ń sàn gbẹ.
16 You created the day, and also the night; you made the moon and the sun.
Tìrẹ ni ọ̀sán, tìrẹ ni òru pẹ̀lú; ìwọ yà oòrùn àti òṣùpá.
17 You set the boundaries of the earth; you made summer and winter.
Ìwọ pààlà etí ayé; Ìwọ dá ìgbà ẹ̀ẹ̀rùn àti ìgbà òtútù.
18 So keep in mind how the enemy ridiculed you, Lord, and how irreverent people insulted your reputation.
Rántí bí àwọn ọ̀tá ń kẹ́gàn rẹ, Olúwa bí àwọn aṣiwèrè ènìyàn ti ń ba orúkọ rẹ jẹ́.
19 Don't let wild animals kill your turtledoves! Don't abandon your people forever!
Má ṣe fi ẹ̀mí àdàbà rẹ fún ẹranko igbó búburú; má ṣe gbàgbé ẹ̀mí àwọn ènìyàn rẹ tí a ń pọ́n lójú títí láé.
20 Remember your promises in the agreement, because the land is full of dark places and violence.
Bojú wo májẹ̀mú rẹ, nítorí ibi òkùnkùn ayé kún fún ibùgbé ìkà.
21 Don't let those who suffer be mistreated again. Let the poor and needy praise you for you who are.
Má ṣe jẹ́ kí àwọn aninilára padà sẹ́yìn nínú ìtìjú jẹ́ kí àwọn aláìní àti tálákà yin orúkọ rẹ.
22 Stand up, God, and plead your case. Don't forget how these foolish people insulted you all the time.
Dìde, Ọlọ́run, gba ẹjọ́ ara rẹ rò; rántí bí àwọn aṣiwèrè ti ń kẹ́gàn rẹ ní gbogbo ọjọ́.
23 Don't ignore what your enemies have said, for their loud accusations against you are getting worse and worse!
Má ṣe gbàgbé ohùn àwọn ọ̀tá rẹ, bíbú àwọn ọ̀tá rẹ, tí ó ń pọ̀ sí i nígbà gbogbo.
